This paper proposes a resource allocation algorithm for minimizing the overall distortion of multiple users in orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM). The proposed algorithm exploits the diversity of multiuser and the rate-distortion function using packet distortion model in a system with limited resources. We first induce a rate-distortion function considering error concealment and error propagation properties of H.264 video structures. Then we perform adaptive resource allocation utilizing multiuser diversity for minimizing the overall video quality degradation. We also consider the proportional rate which is pre-determined for each user. Simulation results show that compared to the previous time division multiple access method and the resource allocation method maximizing data rate, the proposed rate allocation algorithm substantially improves the received video quality.

This paper presents a way to maximize transmission efficiency and reception ability through transmission diversity technology, which can be adapted to wireless multimedia OFDM (orthogonal FDM) system. The presented method gives a comparative analysis between a case where parameter a for time average is 0.3, i with consideration of channel presumption and two types of rms delayed proliferation, which is 50nsec, 150nsec, for the performance analysis of STTC (Space-Time Trellis Code) using time-space code method which is appropriate for MIMO channel, and performance, in the case, where presumed channel value from long training column section is applied to the according frame in a single frame. The result shows that BER brought SNR improvement of 1.0dB in $10^{-3}$ when a was 0.3 than using only the long training column, and shows an increasement of general performance improvement when the time average factor is used.

A forward error correction (FEC) coding techniques is one of time diversity techniques with which the effect of channel impairments due to noise and fading are spreaded over independently, and thus the performance could be improved. Therefore, the performance of the FEC scheme can be maximized if we minimize the correlation of channel information across over a codeword. In this paper, we propose a block turbo code with the maximized time diversity effect which may be reduced due to utilization of high order modulation schemes and due to transmission over a comparatively fast fading environment. Especially, we propose a very simple formula to calculate the address of coded bit allocation, and thus we do not need any additional outer interleavers, i.e., inter-codeword interleavers. The simulation resuts investigated in this paper reveal that the proposed scheme can provide the performance gain of more than a few decibels compared to the conventional schemes.

In this paper, we propose a cooperative vehicle communication scheme for high transmission efficiency and coverage extension under multipath fading environment of moving vehicle networks. The proposed scheme uses a Network coding scheme for improvement of receiving performance by using virtual Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO) transmit diversity. Simulation results have shown that the proposed scheme also provides alleviated Inter Symbol Interference(ISI) and Inter Channel Interference(ICI) as well as Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR) improvement and improve 3dB compared to the conventional scheme, since it can utilize the good properties of spatial diversity and coding gain by using virtual MIMO configuration. In this paper, we propose simulations of Ultra-Wideband(UWB) communication system to show validity by using the MATLAB.
A routing scheme called MCS-NLTC using a self-configuration marine network model and the diversity and heterogeneity of broadband wireless access technologies is newly proposed. The MCS-NLTC algorithm selects optimal nodes and carriers for every hop in optimal routes based on not conventional hop counts but normalized distances to destination ships (location information of destination ships). Normalized transmission characteristics of applications and carriers are considered to get optimal routes as well. The location information enhances convergence speed to get destinations, which makes the route search time faster. Evaluated performances are compared with those of the schemes based on max-win (OMH-MW), and normalized transmission characteristics (MCS-NTC).
cdma2000 offers several enhancement as compared to TIA/EIA-95, although it remains fully compatible with TIA/EIA-95 systems and allows for a smooth migration from one to the other-Major new capability include:1)connectivity to GSM-MAP in addition to IP and IS-41 networks; 2) new layering with new LAC and MAC architectures for improved service multiplexing and QoS management and efficient use of radio resource ;3) new bands and band widths of operation in support of various operator need and constraints, as well as desire for a smooth and progressive migration to cdma 2000; and 4) flexible channel structure in support of multiple services with various QoS and variable transmission rates at up to 1 Mbps per channel and 2 Mbps per user. Given the phenomenal success of wireless services and desire for higher rate wireless services. improved spectrum efficiency was a major design goal in the elaboration of cdma2000. Major capacity enhancing features include; 1) turbo coding for data transmission: 2)fast forward link power control :3) forward link transmit diversity; 4) support of directive antenna transmission techniques; 5) coherent reverse link structure; and 6) enhanced access channel operation. As users increasingly rely on their cell phone at work and at home for voice and data exchange, the stand-by time and operation-time are essential parameters that can influence customer's satisfaction and service utilization. Another major goal of cdma2000 was therefore to enable manufacturers to further optimize power utilization in the terminal. Major battery life enhancing features include; 1) improved reverse link performance (i.e., reduced transmit power per information bit; 2) new common channel structure and operation ;3) quick paging channel operation; 4) reverse link gated transmission ; and 5) new MAC stated for efficient and ubiquitous idle time idle time operation. this article provides additional details on those enhancements. The intent is not to duplicate the detailed cdma2000 radio access network specification, but rather to provide some background on the new features of cdma2000 and on the qualitative improvements as compared to the TIA/EIA-95 based systems. The article is focused on the physical layer structure and associated procedures. It therefore does not cover the MAC, LAC, radio resource management [1], or any other signaling protocols in any detail. We assume some familiarity with the basic CDMA concepts used in TIA/EIA-95.

In this paper, the performances of wireless asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell transmission in mobile work are analyzed. We adopt 16Star QAM as amodulation technique in wireless channel and considered Reed-Solomon, convolutional, and concatenated coding to improve the error rate performances, and also proposed the Partial Concatenated Coding (PCC) technique as UEP(unequal error protection) code for efficient transmission of ATM cell in the air interface. We consider Doppler's effect, Rician fading, and diversity technique of maximal-ratio combining (MRC) for mobile channel model. For performance measure, we analyze bit error rate, ATM cell loss probability, ATM cell error probability, and network performances of ATM cell transmission delay and throughput. The numerical results show that the adoption of PCC is a prospective way for the evolution of future wireless ATM network on mobile environment.

Cognitive Radio (CR) has been recently proposed as a promising technology to remedy the problems of spectrum scarcity and spectrum underutilization by enabling unlicensed users to opportunistically utilize temporally unused licensed spectrums in a cautious manner. In Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks (CRAHNs), data routing is one of the most challenging tasks since the channel availability and node mobility are unpredictable. Moreover, the network performance is severely degraded due to large numbers of path failures. In this paper, we propose the Fault-Tolerant Cognitive Ad-hoc Routing Protocol (FTCARP) to provide fast and efficient route recovery in presence of path failures during data delivery in CRAHNs. The protocol exploits the joint path and spectrum diversity to offer reliable communication and efficient spectrum usage over the networks. In the proposed protocol, a backup path is utilized in case a failure occurs over a primary transmission route. Different cause of a path failure will be handled by different route recovery mechanism. The protocol performance is compared with that of the Dual Diversity Cognitive Ad-hoc Routing Protocol (D2CARP). The simulation results obviously prove that FTCARP outperforms D2CARP in terms of throughput, packet loss, end-to-end delay and jitter in the high path-failure rate CRAHNs.

In this paper, our goal is to find a power-effective protocol that improves the accuracy of transmission in sensor networks. Therefore we propose a cooperative communication protocol based on MRC(Maximal Ratio Combining) and cyclic code. In our proposal, one sensor node assists two others to communicate with a clusterhead that can get diversity effect and MRC can improve diversity effect also. The proposed protocol with cyclic code can correct error up to 3-bit and reduce decoding complexity compared with convolutional code. Simulation results reveal proposed protocol can save the network energy up to 6dB over single-hop protocol at BER(Bit Error Rate) of $10^{-2}$.

Mc-OFDM(Multi code-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulation has been developed for high-speed data transmission over wireless channels. However, this system suffers critical problem from relatively high PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio). To reduce PAPR, we suggest a new technique, called Mapping using (N+1)PSK and demonstrate the performance of mapped Mc-OFDM system. On the other side, in OFDM system, each sub-carrier experiences different fading, thus some sub-carriers may be completely lost because of deep fade. To solve a above mention problem, we propose cooperative communications that improve the reliability of sub-carriers through spatial diversity.
