This paper presents a three-dimensional flexible pavement simulated in ANSYS subjected to moving vehicular load on the surface of the pavement typical for the road section in Nepal. The adopted finite element (FE) model of pavement is validated with the classical theoretical formulations for half-space pavement. The validated model is further utilized to understand the damping and dynamic response of the pavement. Transient analysis of the developed FE model is done to understand the time varying response of the pavement under a moving vehicle. The material properties of pavement considered in the analysis is taken from typical road section used in Nepal. The response quantities of pavement with nonlinear viscoelastic asphalt layer are found significantly higher compared to the elastic pavement counterpart. The structural responses of the pavement decrease with increase in the vehicle speed due to less contact time between the tires of the vehicle and the road pavement.
A dynamic modeling of a rotating pretwist blade which interacts with the fluid is proposed in this study. The hybrid deformation variable modeling method is employed to derive the equations of motion. The external force and moment induced by the fluid (with fixed configurations of the blade) are obtained by fluid flow analysis and tabulated in a database. This database is efficiently utilized to save the computational effort to calculate the dynamic response of the blade. The numerical results show that the fluid affects the transient response as well as frequency characteristics of the system.
In this paper, a simulation program of relaying system including the CT and CPD ( capacitive potential device ) is developed to study the effect of its operation under various system conditions. To deal with the dynamic characteristics of relaying system, state space technique is applied, and then the state equations of CT, CPD and mho distance relay are constructed. Also the dynamic response characteristics of overall relaying system is verified by digital simulation. Since the proposed model is capable of taking arbitrary input waveforms from EMTP in analyzing its dynamic responses, the effects of CT-saturation and CPD-subsidence transient characteristics on the operating points of who distance relay can be accurately prodicted. It gives more effective results, compared with the model without considering those characteristics by checking the exprimental data.

We present a CMOS rail-to-rail class-AB amplifier using dynamic current biasing to improve the delay response of the error amplifier in a low-dropout (LDO) regulator, which is a building block for a wireless power transfer receiver. The response time of conventional error amplifiers deteriorates by slewing due to parasitic capacitance generated at the pass transistor of the LDO regulator. To enhance slewing, an error amplifier with dynamic current biasing was devised. The LDO regulator with the proposed error amplifier was fabricated in a $0.35-{\mu}m$ high-voltage BCDMOS process. We obtained an output voltage of 4 V with a range of input voltages between 4.7 V and 7 V and an output current of up to 212 mA. The settling time during line transient was measured as $9{\mu}s$ for an input variation of 4.7-6 V. In addition, an output capacitor of 100 pF was realized on chip integration.
The sloshing pressure acting on a membrane-type LNG CCS is a typical irregular impact load, and the structural response of a tank system induced by sloshing also shows very complex behavior, including fluid structure interaction. Therefore, it is not easy to accurately estimate the sloshing impact pressures and resulting structural response. Moreover, a huge time consuming process to deal with the enormous pressure data obtained during a model tank test and the following structural analysis would be inevitable. To reduce the computation time for structural analysis, in this study, a rational structural modeling strategy was considered, and a simplified scheme to analyze the dynamic structural responses of an LNG CCS was introduced, which was based on the concept of the linear combination of the triangular response functions obtained by a transient response analysis of structures under unit triangular impact pressure. A structural analysis of a real Mark III membrane type insulation system under the sloshing impact pressure time histories obtained by model tests was performed using the various proposed structural models and simplified analysis scheme. The results were investigated in detail, including the elastic support effects of the hull structure.
This work reports results of our study on the dynamic responses of the buried pipelines both along the axial and the transverse directions under various boundary end conditions. We have considered three cases, i.e., the free ends, the fixed ends, and the fixed-free ends for the axial direction, and three more cases including the guided ends, the simply supported ends, and the supported-guided ends for the transverse direction. In order to investigate the effect of the boundary end conditions for the dynamic responses of the buried pipeline, we have devised a computer program to find the solutions of the formulae on the dynamic responses (displacements, axial strains, and bending strains) under the various boundary end conditions considered in this study. The dynamic behavior of the buried pipelines for the forced vibration is found to exhibit two different forms, a transient response and a steady state response, depending on the time before and after the transfer of a seismic wave on the end of the buried pipeline. The former is identified by a slight change in its behavior before the sinusoidal-shaped seismic wave travels along the whole length of the pipeline whereas the latter by the complete form of a sinusoidal wave when the wave travels throughout the pipeline. The transient response becomes insignificant as the wave speed increases. We have observed a resonance when the mode wavelength matches the wavelength of the seismic wave, where the mode number(k) of resonance for the axial direction is found to be $\overline{\omega}/{\pi}V+1/2$ for the fixed-free ends, $\overline{\omega}/{\pi}V+1$ for the free ends, and $\overline{\omega}/{\pi}V$ for the fixed ends, respectively. By adding 10 more modes to the mode number(k) of resonance, we were able to study all the dynamic responses of the buried pipeline for the axial direction. On the other hand, we have not been able to observe a resonance in the analysis for the transverse direction, because the dynamic responses are found to vanish after the seventh mode. From the results of the dynamic responses at the many points of the pipeline, we have found that the responses appeared to be dependent critically on the boundary end conditions. Such effects are found to be most prominent especially for the maximum values of the displacement and the strain and its position.

The dynamic equations of the void fraction and the water velocity in boiling region of the BWR reactor core are derived. And these equations are approximated to be able to set on an PACE analog computor. The transient analysis and the frequency response obtained by analog computer are compared with other by digital computor.
All the forces in the real world act dynamically on structures. Design and analysis should be performed based on the dynamic loads for the safety of structures. Dynamic (transient or vibrational) responses have many peaks in the time domain. Topology optimization, which gives an excellent conceptual design, mainly has been performed with static loads. In topology optimization, the number of design variables is quite large and considering the peaks is fairly costly. Topology optimization in the frequency domain has been performed to consider the dynamic effects; however, it is not sufficient to fully include the dynamic characteristics. In this research, linear dynamic response topology optimization is performed in the time domain. First, the necessity of topology optimization to directly consider the dynamic loads is verified by identifying the relationship between the natural frequency of a structure and the excitation frequency. When the natural frequency of a structure is low, the dynamic characteristics (inertia effect) should be considered. The equivalent static loads (ESLs) method is proposed for linear dynamic response topology optimization. ESLs are made to generate the same response field as that from dynamic loads at each time step of dynamic response analysis. The method was originally developed for size and shape optimizations. The original method is expanded to topology optimization under dynamic loads. At each time step of dynamic analysis, ESLs are calculated and ESLs are used as the external loads in static response topology optimization. The results of topology optimization are used to update the design variables (density of finite elements) and the updated design variables are used in dynamic analysis in a cyclic manner until the convergence criteria are satisfied. The updating rules and convergence criteria in the ESLs method are newly proposed for linear dynamic response topology optimization. The proposed updating rules are the artificial material method and the element elimination method. The artificial material method updates the material property for dynamic analysis at the next cycle using the results of topology optimization. The element elimination method is proposed to remove the element which has low density when static topology optimization is finished. These proposed methods are applied to some examples. The results are discussed in comparison with conventional linear static response topology optimization.
