  • This study investigates the spatial policy of small towns in China. Small towns in China are important in terms of settlement system, rural urbanization and new adaptation to changing situation. It was necessary that they shoud take charge of the tool for solving the problem in rural reform periods. Rural urbanization, which had aimed at transferring the surplus labor smoothlv, was connected with the growth of rural industrialization (a township enterprise). However, the location of township enterprises was so dispersed that the transfer of surplus labors was not satisfactory. Hence, the concentration of the rural industry in small towns has been taken up as an inevitable alternative. Namely, it can be said that changes and adaptation of reform process, such as industrial restructuring and migration, should be integrated and concentrated in small towns.

  • In the cold region, road surface is frequently frozen, resulting in property/facility damage as well as people's death. In order to prevent the road surface from being frozen, conventional deicing methods such as salt, geothermal, and electric wires have been widely used. However, theses methods have some problems such as anti-environment, high-construction and -maintenance cost and so on. To improve the drawbacks of aforementioned methods, carbon nanotube (CNT) was used as an heating material in the laboratory test. Through the test, heat transferring effect of CNT on the concrete slab was investigated and maximum interval of CNT installation was determined.

  • Exceptive clause of ambulance stated in Road Traffic Laws of ambulance car accidents is not properly applied and emergency staffs who transfer over 85% of emergency cases are to be forced to start out to the emergency field with unstable conditions which they may be punished on the criminal and civil laws. Hereby this study makes the following suggestions to activate the duties of transferring emergency cases by emergency staffs, promote their morale and diminish the victim of emergency staffs due to traffic accidents. 1) It is prescribed that ambulance car drivers should be protected legally by applying the exceptive clauses thoroughly regulated in special case clauses because ambulance cars are used for the purpose of saving the human life. 2) On the traffic accidents occurred during the transfer of emergency cases, the special insurance system is created for treating the ambulance car accidents, not to bind the emergency staff's mistake to traffic law and the victims are compensated by the nation on the basis of insurance system and emergency staffs have the systematic security. 3) On the road over six lanes, emergency lane is set on the center and ambulance car should be used as the exclusive lane. 4) Ambulance car drivers must have the habit of transferring emergency cases rapidly within the range of legal operation.

  • Two novel types of construction detailings, including using the distributive beam and the inner ring diaphragm in the joint between large-section CFT columns and outrigger truss to enhance the transferring efficiency of huge vertical load, and using the T-shaped stiffeners in the steel tube of large-section CFT columns to promote the local buckling capacity of steel tubes, were tested to investigate their working mechanism and design methods. Experimental results show that the co-working performance between steel tube and inner concrete could be significantly improved by setting the distributive beam and the inner ring diaphragm which can transfer the vertical load directly in the large-section CFT columns. Meanwhile, the T-shaped stiffeners are very helpful to improve the local bulking performance of steel tubes in the column components by the composite action of T-shaped stiffeners together with the core concrete under the range of flange of T-shaped stiffeners. These two approaches can result in a lower steel cost in comparison to normal steel reinforced concrete columns. Finally, a practical engineering case was introduced to illustrate the economy benefits achieved by using the two typical detailings.

  • The hall and the projection room of the multiplex cinema being constructed on the sixth and seventh floors at Jeonpo-dong market, Pusan, is composed of structural beams and decks considering the structures self weight problem, and the following problems are expected: - Vibration and noise generated on the floors by moving audiences may annoy the audiences in the other hall - Vibration and noise generate on the floor of the nearby hall as the audiences walk through the alley near the projection room - Vibration and noise generate on the floor of the hall nearby the projection room as the film drops This study measured and reviewed the vibration amount of the seven representative transferring routes that were selected for the halls and the alley near the projection room. Based on the analysis, the model hall was constructed and the vibration in the hall was estimated after cutting the deck. Also, this study constructed the steel stairs and investigated the vibration transferring characteristics to decide whether to construct the steel stairs in the building. Finally, the results were evaluated by actually using the stairs and reviewed the appropriateness of the measurement.

  • The usage of constant velocity (CV) joint is effective for motorboats on gliding regime of the motion. During transition on the gliding when angle of the CV differs from null on driving and driven composite shafts there are moments of the second order. Excitation of oscillations of the second order moments occurs when driving shafts transmits a variable torque. which generates through CV joint a lateral moment acting on the bearing. As a result of oscillations from a resonating harmonic of a shafting the harmonic with the greater or periodically varying amplitude for power condition trough transferring to nominal power 144kW. Beating conditions coincide with third mode having frequency 45.486 Hz. In that case there is high increasing of the equivalent stresses. The forming of the stiffness of the composite material is concerned to use most orientation of the layer angle in the range of $\pm$60 degrees relatively of shaft axis. Application of that angles for layer orientation gives possibility to avoid high disturbance of the shafting for motorboat transition regime.

  • Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer has recently been developed to improve rice transformation. In this study, 3 different transformation methods were tested including soaking, co-cultivation, and vacuum infiltration. Agrobacterium tumefaciens GV3101 harboring the binary vector pGreen:: LeGSNOR was used in this experiment. This study aimed to identify the most appropriate method for transferring LeGSNOR into rice. Vacuum infiltration of the embryonic calli for 5 min in Ilpum resulted in high transformation efficiency based on confirmation by PCR, RT-PCR, and qRT-PCR analyses. In conclusion, we described the development of an efficient transformation protocol for the stable integration of foreign genes into rice; furthermore, the study results confirmed that PCR is suitable for efficient detection of the integrated gene. The vacuum infiltration system is a potentially useful tool for future studies focusing on transferring important genes into rice seed calli, and may help reduce time and effort.

  • Impact force to a body during walking depends on walking speed, walking steps, the condition of the floors and shoes, and weight. The ground reaction force and the foot pressure can be measured instantaneous force easily, but it's difficult to find out the amount of transferring forces to the body. On the other hand, the acceleration has an advantage for analyzing the amount of transferring forces. However, most of studies about impact forces to the ground reaction during exercise have been limited to analyze instantaneous forces. The important thing is to evaluate characters and the amount of the impact force rather than the magnitude. Therefore, this study analyze the impact force using 3 axis acceleration in three dimensions (x; anterior-posterior, y; left-right and z; longitudinal axis) using three axis acceleration. As working speed increased, impact forces increased significantly. Impact forces on x axis and z axis are higher at lower limb than that of upper limb. However, impact force at the knee is higher than that of other parts on y axis regardless of walking speed significantly. In addition, relations of the impact forces as interaction of experiment factors as well as effect of each factor are analyzed.

  • We propose a simple and compact thyristor-based neuron circuit. The thyristor exhibits bi-stable characteristics that can mimic the action potential of the biological neuron, when it is switched between its OFF-state and ON-state with the help of assist circuit. In addition, a method of inter-neuron connection with synaptic devices is proposed, using double current mirror circuit. The circuit utilizes both short-term and long-term plasticity of the synaptic devices by flowing current through them and transferring it to the post-synaptic neuron. The double current mirror circuit is capable of shielding the pre-synaptic neuron from the post synaptic-neuron while transferring the signal through it, maintaining the synaptic conductance unaffected by the change in the input voltage of the post-synaptic neuron.

  • Purpose: Relocation stress is a common phenomenon in patients discharged from an intensive care unit(ICU) to a ward. Therefore, nurses need to be aware of the problems that can arise during the transfer process. The aim of this study was to identify nurses' experiences in transferring critically ill patients from the ICU to a ward. Method: Focus group interviews were done with 13 nurses from wards and ICU, which participated in receiving and sending of ICU patients. The debriefing notes and field notes were analyzed using the consistent comparative data analysis method. Result: Seven major categories were identified in the analysis of the data. These were 'mixed feeling about transfer', 'lack of transfer readiness', 'increase in family burden', 'uncertainty with unfamiliar environment', 'difficulty in decision making', 'difference of perception of the relationships between patients and health care providers', 'need for continuity of nursing care'. Conclusion: Transferring out of the critical care area should be presented to the patient and family as a positive step in the recovery process. However, a more universal method of passing information from nurse to nurse is needed to assist in a smooth transition.
