태양복사열 내부전도 성능향상을 위한 탄소 나노구조체 흑체코팅 열처리 효과연구 (Effect of Thermal Post-Treatment using the Black Body Networking of Carbon Nano Structure For Internal Conduction from Solar Radiation)

  • The Improvement of thermal performance using heat treatment of carbon nanotubes coated on the copper heat sink to take the radiation energy from solar ray for the energy harvesting in earth orbit. Using the additive coating of purified CNT for the increase of specific area and development of thermal conductive capacity, the performance of heat transfer is improved about 0.181 K/W while applying the power of 22 W under temperature of 3.98℃. Coating of purified CNT shows increase of area and volume of thermal layer however it led the partial thermal resistance.

The circumstellar disk and wide-orbit companion candidates arund T-Tauri Star

  • We prensent the near-infrared(NIR) images of the asymmetric circumstellar disk around a T-Tauri star in the ${\rho}$ Ophiuchi star-forming region, and two faint stellar objects around central star. These results were obtainted with the Subaru Telescope with HiCIAO(the High-Contrast Instrument with Adaptive Optics) and IRCS(the InfraRed Camera and Spectrograph). The disk shows center-offset from the star and a strong morphological asymmetry along both the major and minor axis. The physical conditions in the disk is derived from the infrared visibilites results and the complete spectral energy distribution using HOCHUNK3D, Monte-Carlo radiative transfer code. Two companion candidates are separated by 11.6 arcsec(~1450 au at 125 parsec) and 4.34 arcsec(~540 au at 125 parsec). This could be the first case, which imaged both of planetary mass companions and disk around same star. We discuss physical structures of the disk, and probablity that two candidates are real companions.

Development of an Earth Observation Optical Payload Simulator

  • The importance on the simulation of earth observation optical payloads has been recently emphasized in order to estimate on-orbit imaging performance of the payloads. The estimation should consider all aspects of payload development; design, manufacture, test, assembly, launch and space environment. Until recently several studies have been focused the evaluation of the individual factors rather than the integrated. This paper presents the development of an integrated payload simulator. The simulator analyzes the payload imaging performance based on MTF(Modulation Transfer Function) calculations of the major factors (Diffraction, Aberration, Detector integration, Image motion and etc.) and the simulator can generate realistic artificial earth images as taken by defined earth observation payloads. The simulator is developed for the use of evaluating pre- and post-launch imaging performance and assisting on-board calibration of COMPSAT-3.

  • 발사체의 추력을 증진시키기 위해서 사용되는 고체 부스터나 궤도 투입을 위한 킥 모터 플룸의 주요 성분인 알루미나 입자의 복사물성을 도출하기 위해서 입자의 복사특성을 분석하였다. 특히 입자의 흡수나 산란현상이 파장의 함수이므로, 이를 전 파장에 대한 총방사율로 표현할 수 있도록 수식을 정리하였고, 입자의 크기 및 Complex Index of Refraction을 Mie 이론에 도입하여 최종적으로 총 방사율을 도출하였다. 결과적으로 방사율은 온도에 따라 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Gas Inflow from the Central Few Hundred Parsec to the Few Parsec Regions

  • We investigate the hydrodynamics of gas clouds in the central few hundred parsecs of the Galaxy. Non-axisymmetry (elongation) of the Galactic bulge can form a reservoir of dense molecular clouds at around two hundred parsecs from the center through the X1-X2 orbit transfer, and the star formation that has been sustained for the lifetime of the galaxy can build up a nuclear bulge there. If the nuclear bulge is elongated, this again can transport the gas there down to the central few parsecs region. We perform a series of 3-D hydrodynamic simulations that consider a potential for this "nested bar", cooling/heating, star formation and supernova feedback, and estimate the efficiency of the gas inflow down to the central parsec region.

  • Satellite communication in the 21 century's high tech information world is developing rapidly, marked by high levels of applications and functions. For example, satellite communication can process and switch the speed of the service provided by a broad and vast digital multimedia system such as a long-distance all between nations or broadcasting transfer service, which is supplied by a contemporary satellite system. So, it bring about problems which lack of satellite orbit and gibes out frequency resource by increment of satellite universally. To support this, an OBP satellite system is need, which includes an on-board IF/RF switch, baseband signal processing, multi-beam antenna technology, as well as a simple transponder system. In this paper, we have outlined the next generation of satellite communication; satellite OBP transport network architecture, which offers multimedia service and applied frequency reuse method for multi-spot beam. The satellite B-ISDN transport network architecture is also analyzed.

Improved optical design and performances of Amon-Ra instrument energy channel

  • In this report, we present newly improved optical design for the Amon-Ra energy channel and its optical performance. The design is optimized parametrically with emphasis on improved light concentration. And then its performances are computed, first, from a laboratory test simulation using laser method (wave optics approach) and, second, from an in-orbit radiative transfer simulation using IRT method with 3D Earth model (geometrical optics approach). Two simulation test results show clear evidence of energy concentration improvement.

  • In recent years there has been a huge increase in demand for new various communication services due to the rapid advances in wireless communication. These new emerging services give rise to the interference with the existed radio system. As the new representative systems NGSO/MSS systems have been developed, using NGSO, especially Low Earth Orbit (LEO), satellites such as Iridium, Globalstar systems to provide the rapid transfer of information and the positioning services for the moving persons whenever they want to communicate, even if wherever they are. In this paper we have analysed on the interference between the feeder link of NGSO/MSS and M/W fixed system, that is the interference from the mobile satellite earth station into M/W station, as well as the interference from M/W station into the mobile satellite earth station, and the coordinated area.

Pseudospectral Legendre법을 이용한 근접 최적 제어 (Neighboring Optimal Control using Pseudospectral Legendre Method)

  • The solutions of neighboring optimal control are typically obtained using the sweep method or transition matrices. Due to the numerical integration, however, the gain matrix can become infinite as time go to final one in the transition matrices, and the Riccati solution can become infinite when the final time free. To overcome these disadvantages, this paper proposes the pseudospectral Legendre method which is to first discreteize the linear boundary value problem using the global orthogonal polynomial, then transforms into an algebraic equations. Because this method is not necessary to take any integration of transition matrix or Riccati equation, it can be usefully used in real-time operation. Finally, its performance is verified by the numerical example for the space vehicle's orbit transfer.

Studies of Radicals Generated in Supersonic Flash Pyrolysis by Laser Induced Fluorescence Spectroscopy

  • Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectroscopy has been applied to study the supersonic jet of radicals of nitric oxide (NO) and atomic iodine produced in the flash pyrolysis of precursors n-butylnitrite (CH₃(CH₂)₃ONO) and allyl iodide (C₃$H_5$I), respectively. The systematic population analysis with spectral simulations demonstrates that the precursors are efficiently pyrolyzed and that radical beams show a substantial supersonic cooling. In addition, absence of local equilibrium was observed in the distributions of two electronic spin-orbit states ²Π$_{1/2}$ and ²Π$_{3/2}$ of NO products and can be rationalized in terms of the efficiency of collision-induced energy transfer rates.
