This study examines the characteristics of traffic accidents involving elderly pedestrians by analyzing relevant data vis-à-vis fatal pedestrian accidents and proposes solutions to reduce such accidents. We analyzed 3,853 cases of fatal accidents involving elderly pedestrians and 1,786 cases involving younger pedestrian (these cases reflect accidents that occurred from 2005 to 2008). The results show that accidents involving the elderly occur more frequently in rural areas than urban areas, especially in autumn; this condition applies even in situations where the elderly exhibit compensation behaviors such as walking on safer roads. We found that elderly pedestrians exhibit a defective behavior in crossing roads, especially in complicated road conditions where intersections and turning/reversing vehicles represent a menacing threat. These characteristics could be explained by the degenerated physical/mental ability of the elderly and by psychological factors such as reduced level of self-confidence.
The domestic distribution environment of electronic goods has been placing more emphasis on securing each company's own interests and maintaining the existing customers as the most important purpose of marketing due to the change in consumption environment, the excessive cutthroat competition between retailers, the saturated number of branches for each company, weak revenue structure and declining competitiveness. In addition, the target of marketing has been shifted to specific consumers and the concept of a consumer is sub-divided into a "user" of a product and a "shopper" who buys a product. The purpose thereof is to increase the in-store purchase rate by analyzing the psychology and behavior of a shopper who actually visits a store for purchasing a product. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify the correlation between the buying behavior of a shopper and product display based on "Digital Plaza" among the domestic electronic goods brand shops, which is selling products at various prices. This study is meaningful since it is utilized as data to plan store display for promoting purchase.
This study was intended to validate and develop the driving stress coping behavior scale. In a preliminary investigation, literature studies on the driving stress and open questionnaire were administered and examined in four regions in Korea. As a result, 64 items driving stress questionnaire were developed. In the study, this Driving Stress Coping Behavior Scale(DS-CBS) was examined to 372 drivers located seven regions in Korea. The factors analysis revealed 2 meaningful factors[(Good Coping: GC), (Bad Coping: BC) with 24 items. When internal consistency for each 2 factor was calculated, all sub-scale revealed a satisfactory level of Cronbach's α. Also, correlations with Driver Coping Questionnaire(DCQ) and risk driving behaviors(speed driving, drunken driving, traffic violation, offence accident, defence accident) supported consistently validity of the Driving Stress Coping Behavior Scale(DS-CBS). Also, We investigated the influences of 'Good Coping', 'Bad Coping' consisting of driving stress coping behavior, on traffic accidents risk. As a result, 'Good Coping' and 'Bad Coping' influenced traffic accidents risk. 'Good Coping' had decreased effects, the other side 'Bad Coping' had increased effects on traffic accidents risk(TARI).
This paper attempts to identify that the speeding behavior is the important factor in traffic accident by analysing the background and process of speeding behavior. The structure of hurried behavior is reviewed to explain the relationship between the speeding behavior and hurried behavior. And the process of speeding behavior which becomes his own attitude and behavior in driving by social customs approval is analysed by risk homeostasis theory. The results of attitude survey show that drivers speeding behavior is not changing even though they know that speeding behavior is main factor in traffic accident. The influence structure among hurried behavior, background and process of speeding behavior should be analysed to understand the actual speeding behavior in driving.
This study aimed to expand and reconstruct the Driving Behavior Determinants' factors in order to confirm the relationship between Driving Behavior Determinants(DBD) and drivers' reckless driving behavior level. To expand the structure of DBD, drivers anger, introversion and type A characteristics were added, which were never considered as related factors in existing DBD studies before. The correlations between the new factors of DBD and reckless driving behavior(includes driver's personal records of driving experiences for the last three years) were verified. A factor analysis result showed us that new DBD questionnaire consists of five factors such as, 'Problem Evading', 'Benefits/Sensation Seeking', 'Anti-personal Anxiety', 'Anti-personal Anger', and 'Aggression'. Also, reckless driving behavior consists of 'Speeding', 'Inexperienced Coping', 'Wild Driving', 'Drunken Driving', and 'Distraction'. The result of correlation between the DBD and reckless driving behavior indicates that inappropriate level of DBD is highly correlated with dangerous driving behavior and strong possibilities of traffic accidents. Based on these results, we might be able to discriminate drivers according to DBD level and predict their reckless driving behavior through a standardization procedure. Futhermore, this will make us to provide drivers differentiated safety education service.
This research investigated the influences of excessively careful driving as well as chronic disease and medications on dangerousness of traffic accident in elderly drivers. Ninety-one drivers aged 65 years and older participated in the research. To evaluate the driving behavior, we used the self-rating on driving ability questionnaire asking driving speed, the amount of driving and driving situation adaptability' and surveyed the drive career, the number of violations and accidents experience(crash, crashed) for last three years. A review of the driving patterns of elderly drivers showed that the speed and amount of driving were decreased by increasing age. 'Driving- Situational Adaptability (DSA)' consisted of 2 factors such as 'Social Environment(SE)' and 'Physical Environment(PE)'. Elderly drivers reported that their confidence level was lower in PE than in SE. Moreover they had higher difficulty and stress in PE than in SE. DSA of elderly drivers had significant correlations with 'crash' and 'crashed'. This implies that excessively careful driving of elderly drivers directly associated with accidents. Elderly drivers who have nervous system disease or gastritis had more crash accidents. The majority of elderly drivers which take medicine by chronic disease don't think that medications give don't difficulty or inconvenience in driving and constantly drives during a term of taking medicine.
This study was intended to recognize whether speed desire frustration influences in driving stress. Stress desire frustration is the difference between prefer speed and normal speed. As a result, driver's the prefer speed is higher than the normal speed on 4 road condition(high-way, urban-way, residential-way, rural-way). Also, driver's speed desire frustration caused statistical effect in driving stress on 4 road condition. speed desire frustration effect Driving Stress Scale(DSS) 5 sub-scale factors(progress obstacle, traffic circumstance, accident & regulation, regulation obedience, time pressure). This is that driver who experience much speed desire frustration creates high driving stress. Speed desire frustration analyzed high driver and low driver's Driving Stress Scale(DSS) score and overspeed regulation and traffic accident experience difference. As analysis result, speed desire frustration high driver driving stress high appear. However, difference of overspeed regulation experience or traffic accident experience by speed desire frustration did not appear.

According to a characteristic analysis of traffic accidents of industrial vehicles (RTSA 2007), the occurrence rate and lethality per 10,000 vehicles is 6.7 times higher and 5.3 times higher than that of non-industrial vehicles respectively. For the recent 10 years, in contrast to the 1.5% decrease of the annual rate of entire traffic accidents, the accident rate of industrial vehicles have been increasing 2.0% on the annual average. For the recent 10 years, the accidents of a freight truck and bus have been steadily falling off. But, in the case of a taxi, it has constantly been rising 5.6%. In these situations, the countermeasures to decrease the accident rate are suggested by grasping the inclination of taxi drivers through Q analysis which is character and psychology analysis method.
Identifiable victim effect refers to the tendency of greater sympathy and helping behavior to identifiable victims than to abstract, unidentifiable ones. This research tested whether this tendency also affects third-party's punishment and compensation judgments in jury context for public's legal judgments. In addition, through the Identifiable victim effect in such legal judgment, we intended to explain the effect of 'the bill named for victim', putting the victim's real name and identity at the forefront, which is aimed at strengthening the punishment of related crimes by gaining public attention and support. To do so, we conducted experiments with hypothetical traffic accident scenarios that controlled legal components while manipulating victim's identifying information. In experiment 1, each participant read a scenario of an anonymous victim (unidentifiable condition) or a nonanonymous victim that included personal information such as name and age (identifiable condition) and made judgments on the degree of punishment and compensation. The results showed no effect of identifiability on third-party's punishment and compensation judgments, but moderation effect of BJW was obtained in the identifiable condition. That is, those with higher BJW showed greater tendency of punishment and compensation for identifiable victims. In Experiment 2, we compared an anonymous victim (unidentifiable condition) against a well-conducted victim (positive condition) and ill-conducted victim (negative condition) to test the effects of victim's characteristics on punishment for offender and compensation for victims. The results showed lower compensation for an ill-conducted victim than for an anonymous one. In addition, across all conditions except for negative condition, participants made punishment and compensation judgments higher than the average judicial precedents of 10-point presented in the rating scale. This research showed that victim's characteristics other than legal components affects third-party's legal decision making. Furthermore, we interpreted third-party's tendency to impose higher punishment and compensation with effect of 'the bill named for victim' and proposed social and legal discussion for and future research.

Particular matter is steadily increasing due to environmental factors at domestic and abroad such as industry and economy. Recently, the exposure particular matters has been reported to increase the risk not only for morbidity and mortality, but also for diseases of the respiratory system, cardiovascular system and central nervous system/neuropsychiatric disorder. Although the causes of neuropsychiatric diseases are genetic and environmental factors, it is necessary to pay more attention to environmental factors in terms of prevention. We mainly describe environmental factors that affect neuropsychiatric disorders, mainly on particular matter, which is one of harmful environmental substances. In the current study, we reviewed evidence for the presence of particular matter or particular matter related harmful air pollutants-O3, SO2, NO2/NOx, traffic related air pollution, that may represent risk factors for the development of neuropsychiatric disorder.
