Objectives : We investigate to identify the satisfaction degree of patients by traffic accident(TA) for improving the quality of services and fortifying the competitiveness of Korean medical hospital on TA patients. Methods : The survey used by preceding articles was accepted for assessment of the satisfaction degree of patients in this study. All data were coded by SPSS v18.0 and analyzed by descriptive maneuver, ${\chi}^2$-test, T-test and correlation. Results : According to the survey, 84% of patients included this study were hospitalized in the Korean medical hospital within 2 weeks from TA and 92.3% were satisfied with the current medical service. The answer that Korean medicine is superior to western medicine for TA treatment was the main reason for selecting Korean medical hospital. 35.1% of patients satisfied Chuna treatment and 42.9% unsatisfied herbal medicine. There were no differences in the satisfaction degree with sex, age, education and occupation. The satisfaction degree of the current Korean medical service was significantly correlated with doctor's service, use the procedure and reuse intention. Conclusions : It is necessary to develop and to apply the customer satisfaction program for the Korean medicine hospital on TA patients.

Objectives: This study conducted a retrospective review to compare the effectiveness of herbal medicine, while confirming the effectiveness of Korean medicine (KM) in traffic accidents (TA). Methods: We investigated the medical records of TA patients who were hospitalized at Muuido Korean medicine hospital from January 2016 to June 2018 retrospectively. Medical records included general characteristics (Gender, age), TA & treatment-related information (Collision type, chief complaint, hospitalization period, and herbal medicine prescription), and clinical scales (Five-scale improvement, numerical rating scale (NRS)). Statistical analysis was performed for data distribution and effectiveness comparison. Results: 755 TA patients showed 0.78:1 gender ratio. 20-50s years old, rear collision, pain in the cervical and lumbar spine, and hospitalization period within 14 days were the majority. KM improved 83.18% of 755 TA patients' symptoms and ROM over 'improvement' level, which indicated 30-70% improvement. With common KM treatments including acupuncture, cupping, heat therapy, and manipulation therapy, TA patients received various herbal medicines and herbal medicine for breaking severe blood stasis (Tongdo-san) showed improvement in both five-scale improvement and NRS change at the same time. Conclusions: We could confirm the effectiveness of KM, particularly herbal medicine in TA. It would be necessary to develop new herbal medicines such as Tongdo-san to treat TA-related symptoms.

Safety improvement has been a continuous challenge, especially at toll gate of express highway where traffic conflict often occurs due to frequent lane change by drivers of "Hi-pass" lane and regular "TCS" lane. As a part of research on safety at toll gate, this study videotaped traffic conflict data between vehicles using centrally located "Hi-pass" lane and regular "TCS" lane and analyzed accident risk. According to the correlation analysis of vehicle speed, relative vehicle speed, and sudden vehicle deceleration rate due to traffic conflict, when the relative vehicle speed between centrally located "Hi-pass" lane and regular "TCS" lane increases, sudden vehicle deceleration rate also increases. One of the findings is that centrally located "Hi-pass" lane at toll gate shows different location for traffic conflict, and frequency of traffic conflict and the relative vehicle speed was also different based on vehicle lane use. TA (Time to Accident) analysis shows that accident rate is high at toll gate where Hipass lane is installed in center lane, when the occurrence of sudden vehicle deceleration and deceleration time of vehicles rise for vehicles on "Hi-pass" lane. Furthermore, if the expressway entrance/exit point is closely located to toll gate, TA showed a low value. Thus, it is necessary to reduce the relative vehicle speed in order to improve safety. The Study presents reduction of the relevant vehicular speed and prevention of accidents at the centrally installed "Hi-pass" lane as an important strategy for safety improvement at toll gate.

Background: We conducted a cross-sectional study to analyze the pain characteristics and satisfaction scores in traffic accident (TA) patients seeking Korean medicine treatment. Methods: A survey was conducted in 845 outpatients who visited 10 Korean medicine institutions due to TA-associated symptoms from February 25th, 2016 to March 9th, 2016. The questionnaire included information about patient sociodemographic characteristics, accident circumstance details, pain levels, treatment methods, satisfaction and pre-existing musculoskeletal disorders. All statistical analyses were performed using STATA 14.0. Results: A total 754 of the 845 respondents had experienced acute pain of onset within 1-2 days. Pain in the neck or low back was most common, and low back pain (LBP) was more prevalent in pedestrian-vehicle accident cases. Patients showed highest satisfaction with pharmacopuncture treatment, followed by acupuncture and Chuna manual therapy. Although treatments were not completed at the time of the survey, the majority of patients were satisfied with the Korean medicine treatments they received and indicated their intent to reuse this treatment in the future. The degree of pain reduction after treatment was a factor that influenced patient satisfaction with and intention to reuse Korean medicine. Conclusion: This study determined the characteristics and status of TA patients using Korean medicine and suggests the need for further more inclusive studies.
Objective : Korean medicine treatment method is noted as alternative in treating traffic accidents(TA) victims recently. The main purpose of this research is to make a survey of the effective way of the Korean medicine treatment about TA victims. Methods : In following research, 389 cases of traffic victims who hospitalized in the Youngsaeng Korean Medicine Hospital & Youngsaeng Clinic from March 1, 2001 to November 30, 2001 were surveyed. The research is focused on finding out the distribution, such as sex and age, damaged part of the body of 389 TA victims, nature of damage of 389 TA victims, chief complaint of 389 TA victims, nature of damage by Korean medicine code classification, treatment given to 389 TA victims, Extract(Ex) medicine given to 389 TA victims, days in hospital of 389 TA victims. Results : The patients reached korean medicine hospital in fewer numbers from most of TA victims. As neck pain and L-spin sprain, most of symptoms was light and the treatment of medicine as well was limited for TA. The treatment method which was used for treating TA was acupuncture, cupping therapy, physical therapy, Ex medicine. Few ways could use the Ex medicine as well. Conclusions : The achieving rate of treatment was marked highly by using Haenggi(行氣) Hwalhyeol(活血) Guyea(祛瘀) and we confirmed a possibility for the treatment of TA in korean medicine treatment method. It needs to increase all kinds of treatment-ways which can treat successfully and needs to come into application of insurance. Korean medicine method will have possibility to take part in TA injury admission, by presenting basis to prove effectiveness of treatment-ways.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of Dangkisoo-san(Dangguixu-san) and Gamihwalhyul-tang(Jiaweihuoxie-tang) herb-medication for the Traffic accident patient group with the effectiveness of common herb-medication for the general patient group by using 7-Zone-Diagnostic System. Two groups were selected from those who took the CP-6000A test in College of Oriental Medical Hospital of Sangji University from March 2007 to January 2008. Mean values of Factor AA on Skin Resistance Variability(SRV) of two groups were compared. The mean values of the deviation between measurement and 50 in pre-examination was higher than those of post-examination. Especially, there were remarkable difference between the mean values of the deviation between measurement and 50 in pre-examination and those of post-examination within the general patient group. When we compare pre-examination with post-examination in each area, 2 areas have remarkable difference within the general patient group. The mean values of positive deviation in pre-examination was higher than those of post-examination within both group. Especially, the TA patient group was remarkable. The other side the mean values of negative deviation in pre-xamination was remarkably higher than those of post-examination within the general patient group. By contraries the mean values of negative deviation in pre-examination was lower than those of post-examination within the TA patient group. These results suggest that Dangkisoo-san(Dangguixu-san) and Gamihwalhyul-tang(Jiaweihuoxie-tang) herb-medication will be less effective for chronic and weak traffic accident patients.
Objectives The aim of this study is to identify the satisfaction of Korean medicine treatment by traffic accident. Methods This study was carried out 103 cases of traffic accident patients which had been treatment in Dongshin university Korean medicine hospital and Chung-Yeon Korean medicine hospital from June, 2014 to September, 2014. The survey used by preceding articles was accepted for assessment of the satisfaction degree of patients in this study. All data were coded by SPSS v18.0 and analyzed by descriptive maneuver, x2-test, T-test and correlation. Results According to the survey, 93.2% of patients included this study were hospitalized in the Korean medical hospital within 2 weeks from TA and 90.3% were satisfied with the current medical service. The answer that Korean medicine is superior to western medicine for TA treatment was the main reason for selecting Korean medical hospital. 46.6% of patients satisfied Acupuncture treatment and 29.1% of patients satisfied Korean physical treatment. There were no differences in the satisfaction degree with sex, age, education and occupation. The satisfaction degree of the current Korean medical service was significantly correlated with doctor's service, use the procedure and reuse intention. Conclusions We could see that the satisfaction of Korean medicine treatment is relatively high. The continuous and repetitive research is needed in order to improve the quality of Korean medicine hospital service and the satisfaction of patients by traffic accident.
Objectives: This study was conducted to find out the general public's perception of Korean Medicine (KM) treatment for traffic accident (TA) patients during pregnancy. Methods: A self-developed questionnaire was distributed to outpatients and inpatients between the ages of 19 and 70 at KM hospitals located in Bucheon. The subjects were asked whether they thought KM treatment could be applied to TA patients during pregnancy. The perceptions of acupuncture, pharmacupuncture, herbal medicine, and Chuna treatment during pregnancy were also investigated. Results: 87.50% answered that KM treatment could be applied to TA patients during pregnancy. Most respondents thought that musculoskeletal symptoms of TA could be treated with KM (85.71%). 93.75%, 87.50%, 56.25%, and 52.08% of the respondents said they were willing to recommend acupuncture, pharmacupuncture, herbal medicine, and Chuna treatment to patients after TA during pregnancy. The respondents answered that acupuncture (95.83%), pharmacupuncture (91.67%), herbal medicine (62.50%), and Chuna (66.67%) is effective for pain controlling during pregnancy, and acupuncture (8.33%), pharmacupuncture (12.50%), herbal medicine (45.83%), and Chuna (39.58%) could be affect the risk of premature birth, miscarriage or birth defects. Conclusions: Acupuncture and pharmacupunture treatment are perceived positively, whereas herbal medicine and Chuna treatment are perceived negatively by the general public for the TA patients during pregnancy. In order to establish the correct awareness of KM treatment for TA patients during pregnancy, more clinical studies and case reports on the efficacy and safety of KM treatment during pregnancy are required.
Objectives: TA is a polyherbal extract comprising seven herbs, typically used for the pharmacopuncture treatment of patients with traffic accident- related injuries and musculoskeletal diseases. This animal study was conducted to evaluate the safety of the TA extract, using a single-dose toxicity test. Methods: The dose range and sampling time were first established. Six- week-old Sprague-Dawley rats were administered 1.0 mL of TA or normal saline (control), intramuscularly, for the single-dose toxicity test. The general condition, mortality, and histology of all rats were observed for 2 weeks. Results: No abnormal symptoms or deaths were observed in any group. The body weights of the rats in the TA and control groups were similar. No significant differences in histopathology were observed between the groups. Conclusion : Our study indicates that 1.0 mL of TA extract may be safely administered for pharmacopuncture for treatment of patients in traditional medicine clinics.
Objective: We have various ways in evaluating the level of low back pain as sequelae, general approaches such as neurologic examination, MRI, Radiologic examination and evaluating the effect of psychological stress on the low back pain. Besides We can find another approach to evaluating the sequale of low back pain in TA patients. So, I intend to analyze how much relationship the patients that got low back pain by TA have with Roland Morris Disability Scale(RMS) in 2 months after discharge. Methods: In this article, I will compare two results of TA inpatients and non-TA inpatients, which obtained with the RMS. This study was carried out about 22 TA patients and 18 non-TA patients, who had low back pain and were hospitalized between March 2002 and July 2002. Results & conclusions : 1. RMS point is related with the post-discharge term to a point of time of answering the questionnaire in both TA patients and non-TA patients. 2. In distribution of RMS point, Gr II take most possesion as 41% in TA patients while Gr I take most possesion as 56% in non-TA patients. 3. In distribution of RMS point, patients that correspond to more than Gr III take 27% in TA patients, 16% in non-TA patients. 4. TA patients show higher level of distribution than non-TA patients in RMS point in verifying them by mean value and T-test. 5. Degree of pain score change(${\Delta}$P.S), using mean value and T-test, showed lower level of distribution in TA patients than non-TA patients. 6. We can see that TA patients have more restriction in their life for low back pain.
