  • The purpose of this study is to find out current problems facing Trade show Exhibition Industry and to suggest proper solutions. Trade Show Exhibition Industry recently emerged as Trade Show Marketing that is not this only sales promotion but the Marketing Mix. Now we should have focused on the cooperation among the organizations in trade show exhibition industry than physical facilities; need various kind of government aids; need marketing-oriented and professional skills to build and enhance the growth of trade show exhibition industry. Accordingly, the important thing is an exploratory study of assessing trade show objectives, management, functions and performance etc.

  • 그간 우리나라는 무역 증대를 우한 지원정책을 활발히 수립하고 수행해 왔으나 상대적으로 전시산업에 대한 정책과 지원은 근래에 와서야 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 이러한 정책들이 일부 장기적인 비젼을 확보하지 못한 상태에서 일회성의 정책과 유행위주의 정책과 지원이라는 비판도 없지 않다. 따라서 본고에서는 전시산업의 의의데 대해서 알아보고 세계전시산업의 현황과 우리나라 전시산업의 현황을 살펴본 후 우리나라 전시산업이 문제점에 대하여 고찰해 보고 이에 대한 해결방안과 발전방안에 논의해 보고자 한다.

  • About trade show strategic practical use plan, sought practical use plan hereafter with problem in 5 side. First, need that supply reliable and objective information about exhibition utilizing active public relations of domestic trade show certification system and international certification system. Second, I need to reinforce budget support estimation to expand governmental budget support and strengthen professionalism of exhibition operation. Third, need to seek globalization strategy of exhibition industry concretely to overcome realistic limit of domestic exhibition industry. Institutional improvement for long-term public information of exhibition and participation company's satisfaction raising and infra for gallery's management result should be established. Fourth, need excavation of various first-hand field marketing that can dig various interaction method with customers and invite new customers by booth exhibition. Fifth, need professional worker positivity, deflation that fulfill knowledge that is adapted, and precedes in environment worldwide exhibition industry training actively universal exhibition industry professional worker. Foreign exhibition is an one of marketing tactics that is generalized that can approach to oversea market in less expense relatively. To measure exactly fact and participation result of exhibition that select suitable exhibition in one's own company's marketing goal in company's standpoint that participate in exhibition according as exhibition number is increased and function of exhibition is diversified became difficult.

  • Recently the trade show is a massive marketing effort of a particular industry and introduces new products to potential customers, as well as the ability to elevate the brand's image and corporate identity. It is increasing its importance as a venue of communication. In these changes, the exhibition is required to have the emotional approach to enhance the dynamic and creative image of companies. Therefore, the product itself as well as the importance of various visual contents of the exhibition is increasing positive effect of the image and marketing on their products. In this sense, this study analyzes video contents of the exhibition that was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Europe's largest display show 'ISE (Integrated Systems Europe)' in 2013, focusing on the domestic company, Samsung, LG Electronics and other four foreign companies. The analysis is based on the Herbert Zettl's applied media aesthetics related to the video contents, through which we can find the way to the development of exhibition video contents making for Trade show.

섬유패션관련 전시회 참여 실태조사 (An Exploratory Study of Textile and Fashion Trade Show Exhibiting Management)

  • The purpose of this paper was to collect the information of textile and fashion trade show exhibiting such as the exhibition objectives, trade show selection criteria, reasons for not exhibiting, and exhibition performance. The data were collected from textile and fashion companies which participated in the Preview in Daegu or Seoul Fashion Sourcing Fair, or through the Research Company. The results showed that the most heavily weighted factor among reasons for not exhibiting was "high cost" and the most important exhibiting objective was "identifying the need and the preference of potential customers". "The quality and the quantity of sales lead" was ranked highly among exhibiting selection criteria. Also, the future of exhibition industry was also recognized positively and "effective PR and marketing activities" was assigned high importance among services provided by the organizer.

  • The purposes of this study are to propose exhibition planning and management skills of trade fair organizers and to provide suggestions on the direction of government policies related to fair items. This study analyzes exhibitor objectives of exhibition participation and exhibition choice attributes using revised importance-performance analysis. This research uses visitor level, organizer services and market attraction of hosting country, as explanatory variables affecting companies' trade show choices. It also utilizes sales and non-sales purposes of participants as variables of exhibitors' objectives. As a result of the empirical analysis and examination of prior research, this study presents some recommendations for exhibition organizers and governments of hosting countries. First, the exhibition organizer should consider the importance of the number of visitors. Thus, the organizer should focus on prior marketing activities to attract visitors. Second, the organizer should make a trade fair plan in compliance with participants' needs. Third, policy authorities should provide environment of free competition among players.

이란 전시회 성과요인 탐색 및 무역박람회에 수정된 중요도-성취도분석 (R-IPA) 적용 방안 (Exploration of the dimensionality of Iran's trade show performance and application of R-IPA)

  • This study aims to identify the dimensions of trade show performance in Iranian trade shows and apply the revised importance-performance analysis. The IPA method integrates two types of indirect importance and a composite I-P mapping using traditional four-quadrants, as well as a diagonal line on a two-dimensional grid. Based on the analysis results, this study presents several suggestions to contribute to the development of the trade show industry. First, it is noted that the dimensionality of trade show performance in a developing country context can be different from that of prior literature. Taking different industry development stages of a show hosting countries, examining the dimensions of each trade show performance with every effort to derive proper exhibitors' implications is necessary. Second, the use of statically-derived importance is recommended while considering respondents' convenience to reduce their time and fatigue when collecting data at the busy booths. Further, applying composite I-P mapping is suggested as an effective diagnostic tool to provide optimal trade show strategies for the exhibitors under the dynamic and ever-changing global business environment.

전시회 서비스 품질과 참가 기업의 성과와의 관계: 한국개최 국제전시회 참가기업의 전시 담당자의 인식을 중심으로 (The Relationship Between the Exhibitors'Show Performance and the Service Quality of Trade Shows : As reported by participating exhibitor managers in International Trade Shows held in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is first to identify the dimensions of a trade show's service quality and the dimensions of the exhibitors' show performance, and thereafter determine the relationship between the trade show's service quality and the exhibitors' show performance. This study attempted empirical research, together with a literature review, to discover the effect of service quality upon on exhibitors' performance. A survey was conducted during an international trade show that was held in Korea where more than 100 businesses participated. The sample was selected from among the people who were in charge (e.g., managers) of their own private businesses. As a result, the study validated nine dimensions of a trade show's service quality: host and public relations, security, reputation and reliability, access, customer service, exhibition program, physical facilities, convenient facilities, and attendance cost. The study also identified five dimensions of the performance of participants: sales performance, information collection, networking, image building, and motivation. Overall, the empirical results of this study verified that there is a correlation between the performance of exhibitors and the service quality. of trade shows.

국제전시회 참가기업의 전시회 선택속성과 참가성과, 만족 및 재참가의도 간의 관계 연구 (A Study on the Relationship among Exhibition Selection Factor, Performance, Satisfaction and Intention to Revisit of Participants in International Exhibition)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine relationships among exhibition selection factor, performance, satisfaction and intention to revisit of participants in international exhibition. For this purpose, we set hypotheses relationship among external selection factor of exhibition (ESFE), internal selection factor of exhibition (ISFE), performance of sales (PS), performance of information gathering (PIG), performance of relationship building (PRB), performance of image building (PIB), satisfaction (SAT) and intention to revisit (IR). To verify theses hypotheses, we conducted path analysis on the data from 100 participants of 2019 Korea International Boat Show. The result of this study is as follows: Frist, ESFE positively impacts on PS, PIG, PRB, PIB. Second, ISFE positively impacts on PIG, PRB. Third, PS and PIB positively impacts on SAT. Fourth, SAT positively impacts on IR. The implication of this study is two fold. This study expands research area of international exhibition to a new industry such as marine leisure sports industry and provides useful information to firms that plan to participate in the international exhibition and to those who organize the international exhibitions.
