차압유량계를 이용한 기액 2상유량 및 건도의 동시측정 가능성에 관한 연구 (A Feasibility Study of Simultaneous Measurement of Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Flowrate and Quality with a Sharp-Edged Orifice)

  • 본 연구에서는 이러한 가능성을 알아 보기 위하여 오리피스판을 통하여 기액 2상흐름이 있을 때 각 상의 유량변화레 따른 순간압력강하치를 분석하고자 한다. 우선 평균압력강하치를 측정하여 식 (1)과 비교 분석하며, 교란치의 평균진폭과 교란 강도를 구하여 기공율의 변화에 따른 이러한 통계치들의 경향을 고찰한다. 그리고 순간압력강하 곡선에 대한 통계함수들, 확률밀도함수(probability density function) 와 자기상관함수(auto-correlation function)을 구하여 이 들의 통계적 성질을 구명 하고 2상 유동량의 결정에 대한 교란치의 할동도를 토의한다.

직접 접촉식 4단 유동층 열교환기의 압력손실 및 열전달 특성 (The Pressure Drop and Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Direct Contact 4-Stage Fluidized Bed Heat Exchanger)

  • In this work, direct contact 4-stage fluidized bed heat exchanger is experimentally studied to develop a new type of heat exchanger which recovers the energy contained in the high temperature waste gas exhausted from the industrial furnaces. A sand is used as a heat transfer medium in this experiment. To determine the optimum operating condition, 11 different perforated plates which have a different free area ratio with different hole diameter are used in the experiment. From the room temperature experiment, the pressure drop which is caused by fluidized bed formation is observed. The high temperature experiment is carried out to seek the optimum operating condition of high heat efficiency at low heat exchanger operation cost. The results of experiment are as following. The pressure drop in the high temperature condition can be predicted from the results of the room temperature experiment. And Nusselt number becomes smaller due to the increased interference between sand particles as Reynolds number increases when the dilute phase fluidized beds are formed in nigh temperature condition. But heat transfer amount through the total sand surface area become larger due to the large resident amount of sand. Considering the heat transfer amount and the heat exchanger operation cost, perforated plates which have either a 30% or 35% of free area ratio with 15mm of hole diameter are best fitted for our goal of this work. The values of .phi. which is a dimensionless number representing the absorption heat amount per unit sand rate are in the range from 0.4 to 0.5, when Reynolds number of waste gas ranges from 25-30 with these perforated plates.

Optimization of a radiator for a MPFL system in a GEO satellite

  • One of the components that used in the satellite thermal control subsystem is the Mechanically Pumped Fluid Loop (MPFL) system; this system mostly used in geosynchronous orbit (GEO) satellites, and can transfer heat from a hot point to a cold point using the fluid which circulated in a closed loop. Heat radiates to the deep space at the cold plate to cool down the fluid temperature. In this research, the radiative heatexchanger (RHX) for a MPFL system is optimized. The genetic algorithm has been used for minimizing the total mass and pressure drop by considering a constant transferred heat rate at the heat exchanger. The optimization has been done in two cases. In case I, two parameters are considered as a goal function, so optimization is performed using NSGA-II method. Results of optimization are shown in the pareto diagram. In case II, the diameter of pipe is considered constant, so the optimized value for distances of the parallel pipes is obtained by using the genetic algorithm, in which the system has the least total mass. Results show that in the RHX, by increasing the pipe diameter, pressure drop decreases and total mass increases. Also by considering a constant value for pipe diameter, an optimum distance between pipes and pipe length are obtained in which the system has a minimum mass.

공기와 물의 수평유동에 있어 관의 급격한 입구축소 모양이 단상 및 이상유 압력강하에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Investigation of the Effect of the Entrance Shape of Sudden Contraction on Single and Two-Phase Pressure Drop in Horizontal Air-Water Flow)

  • 관의 급격한 축소모양이 단상 및 이상유의 수평유동 압력강하에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 연구하였다. 급격하게 축소되는 수평관속을 흐르는 단상 및 이상유동에서 그 축소되는 입구의 모양이 압력강하에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해서 4가지의 다른 입구모양에 대해 총 167회의 압력강하 측정을 수행하였다. 여기서 얻은 실험자료로부터 급격한 입구축소에 의한 압력강하를 계산하여 단상 및 이상유동에 관한 해석적 모델의 예측값과 비교하였다. 단상유동에서의 실험값과 예측값과의 오차범위는 대체로 $\pm$25% 이내인데 반하여, 이상유동의 경우는 균일모델보다 더 잘 맞는 후프스(Hoopes)모델도 실험값보다 45% 정도나 적게 예측하고 있다. 특히 이상유동에 대해서는 기포분율과 액상의 질량속도가 급격한 유로축소에 의한 압력강하에 미치는 영향도 합께 조사하였다.

보일러 급수펌프용 1500lb 고차압 제어밸브 유량시험 및 수치해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flow Coefficient Test and Numerical Analysis about 1500lb High-Pressure Drop Control Valve for Boiler Feedwater Pump)

  • Before making a prototype, we predicted the inlet/outlet differential pressure and flow coefficient, which are the most basic design data for the valve through the design and numerical analysis of the trim, which is the most important in the localization development of the 1500Ib high differential pressure control valve used for boiler feed water. As a result, the design value and the analysis value were found to be about 98% similar. The flow field within the fluid velocity of 23m/s to prevent cavitation was also found. The result of the numerical analysis on thermal stress due to the characteristics of valves exposed to high temperatures showed that it was found to be about 18% less than the allowable stress of the bolt fixing the trim. When all loads such as pressure, self-weight, and vibration are applied, however, it is judged to go beyond the currently calculated thermal stress, exceeding the allowable stress.

Effects of changes in blood pressure during brain vascular surgery on intraoperative neuromonitoring

  • This study was conducted in order to determine how reductions in blood pressure during surgery affect intraoperative neuromonitoring. This retrospective study considered a total of 339 patients: 194 patients with normal neuromonitoring findings (57%), 145 (42%) with abnormal neuromonitoring findings, and 34 (10%) with postoperative neurological deficits. Comparisons between the three groups revealed that overall blood pressure during surgery, postoperative blood pressure, and the difference between the maximum and minimum blood pressure could affect the intraoperative neuromonitoring findings. While we indicate that a drop in blood pressure to below 70 mmHg could affect neuromonitoring results, differences in the dosage of anesthetic agents did not significantly affect reductions in blood pressure or neuromonitoring findings. The association of monitoring with blood pressure found in this study is expected to help future examiners. However, this study did not clarify the relationship between anesthesia and blood pressure and how it could affect intraoperative neuromonitoring. Therefore, further research on this part is thought to be necessary.

  • The micro plated heat exchangers were designed to transfer more heat/volume or mass than previous heat exchangers within the context of the design constraints specified. The increase of the surface-to-volume ratio results in an increase of the interfacial area. This enhances considerably the performance of a heat exchanger. This can be an important component in a wide range of applications fuel cell, aerospace, automotive, electronic system and home heating, etc). In this study, the performance evaluation of micro plated heat exchangers under the counter flows with straight and S-shaped channel are carried out. The pressure drop as well as inlet and outlet fluid temperature were measured at steady state under various operating conditions and the total heat transfer rate were also calculated.

Performance Evaluation of Double-Tube Condenser using Smooth and Micro-Fin Tubes for Natural Mixture Refrigerant (Propane/Butane)

  • The investigation has been made into the prediction of heat exchange performance of a counter flow type double-tube condenser for natural refrigerant mixtures composed of Propane/n-Butane or Propane/i-Butane in a smooth tube and micro-fin tube. Under various heat transfer conditions, mass flux, pressure drop and heat transfer coefficient of the mixed refrigerants were calculated using a prediction method, when the length of condensing tube, total heat transfer rate, mass flux and outlet temperature of coolant were maintained constant. Also, the predicted results were compared with those of HCFC22. The results showed that the mixed refrigerants of Propane/n-Butane or Propane/i-Butane could be substituted for HCFC22, while the pressure drop and overall heat transfer coefficient of the refrigerants were evaluated together.

  • We have developed a monoleaflet polymer valve as an inexpensive and viable alternative, especially for short-term use in the ventricular assist device or total artificial heart. The frame and leaflet of the polymer valve were made from polyurethane, To evaluate the hemodynamic performance of the polymer valve a comparative study of flow dynamics past a polymer valve and a St. Jude Medical prosthetic valve under physiological pulsatile flow conditions in vitro was made. Comparisons between the valves were made on the transvalvular pressure drop, regurgitation volume and maximum valve opening area. The polymer valve showed smaller regurgitation volume and transvalvular pressure drop compared to the mechanical valve at higher heart rate. The results showed that the functional characteristics of the polymer valve compared favorably with those of the mechanical valve at higher heart rate.
