HSB 강거더의 비탄성 횡비틂좌굴에 의한 휨강도 - 세장 복부판 단면 (Flexural Strength of HSB Steel Girders Due to Inelastic Lateral-Torsional Buckling - Sections with Slender Web)

  • HSB 고강도 강재를 적용한 균일모멘트를 받는 세장 복부판을 갖는 강거더에 대하여 비탄성 횡비틂좌굴 거동을 상용 ABAQUS 프로그램을 이용하여 비선형 유한요소해석으로 분석하였다. 해석대상 강거더는 압축플랜지의 국부좌굴이 휨강도를 지배하지 않도록 플랜지는 조밀 또는 비조밀 요소에 해당하는 세장비를 갖도록 설계하였으며, 횡방향 비지지길이는 탄성 횡비틂좌굴 강도 이상의 휨강도를 갖도록 선정하였다. HSB600 및 HSB800 강재로 제작된 균질단면 강거더와 HSB800과 SM570-TMC 강재를 동시에 적용한 하이브리드 단면를 고려하였고, 일반강재와의 상대적인 비교를 위하여 SM490-TMC 균질단면 강거더에 대한 해석도 수행하였다. 비선형 유한요소해석 시에는 플랜지와 복부판을 쉘요소로, 강재는 탄소성-변형경화 재료로 모델링하였다. 초기변형과 단면의 잔류응력을 고려하였으며 이들이 비탄성 횡비틂좌굴 영역에서 휨거동에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 총 64개의 해석대상 강거더에 대하여 FE 해석과 설계식에 의한 휨저항강도를 비교한 결과, HSB 강재를 적용한 균질단면 및 하이브리드 단면 거더의 비탄성 횡비틂좌굴에 의한 휨강도는 현 AASHTO LRFD 압축플랜지 휨강도 탄성 설계규정을 적용하여 산정할 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • The applications of composite materials have increased over the past few decades in a variety of structures that require high ratio of stiffness and strength to weight ratios. Recently the thick open section composite beams are used extensively as load carrying members and stiffeners of structural elements. However, most of studies on thick composite beams are limited only to closed section beams. In this study, an open cross-section thick-walled composite beam model which includes coupled stiffness, transverse shear, and warping effects is suggested and the deflections associated with the thick-walled composite beams and thin-walled composite beams are obtained and compared with the finite element analysis results.

쇼트피닝한 SCM22강의 피로 특성 (Fatigue characteristics of SCM 22 Steel by Shot Peening)

  • The influence of shot peening on the fatigue strength of SCM22 steel is investigated in this work. The shot peening process is applied to the heat treated specimens. Then, basic material properties and residual stresses are evaluated for specimens. Rotate bending and torsional fatigue tests are accomplished to investigate the effects of shot peening on the fatigue strength. experimental results show that the fatigue life was increased tremendously by shot peening. The compressive residual stress, which is induced by shot peening process, seems to be an important factor of increasing the fatigue strength.

Geometrically nonlinear analysis of thin-walled open-section composite beams

  • This paper presents a flexural-torsional analysis of thin-walled open-section composite beams. A general geometrically nonlinear model for thin-walled composite beams and general laminate stacking sequences is given by using systematic variational formulation based on the classical lamination theory. The nonlinear algebraic equations of present theory are linearized and solved by means of an incremental Newton-Raphson method. Based on the analytical model, a displacement-based one-dimensional finite element model is developed to formulate the problem. Numerical results are obtained for thin-walled composite beams under general loadings, addressing the effects of fiber angle, laminate stacking sequence and loading parameters.

  • ACI design code is not capable of evaluating the inter-effects between concrete and torsional reinforcement on the torsional resistance of the reinforced concrete beams. In this study, the failure strengths of the ten reinforced concrete beams subjected to pure torsion were evaluated using 3-dimensional strut-tie models. The analysis results obtained from the present study were compared with those obtained from the ACI design code. The comparison showed that the accuracy and performance of the present method were better than the ACI design code. Thus, the method implementing a 3-dimensional strut-tie model can be possibly applied to the analysis and design of the reinforced concrete beams subjected to pure torsion as a rational design method.

  • The effects of mean particle size and uniformity coefficient of dredged soils to the liquefaction resistance strength and dynamic characteristics are experimentally studied in this paper. Representative 4 mean particle sizes and 3 uniformity coefficients were selected and 12 representative particle size distribution curves which have different mean particle sizes and uniformity coefficients, were artificially manufactured using the real dredged river soil. Cyclic triaxial tests and torsional shear tests were carried out to analyze the effect of mean particle size and uniformity coefficient to the liquefaction resistance strength and dynamic characteristics of soils.

  • In this paper, the existing Stokoe type torsional shear equipment is modified to saturate the specimen and measure excess pore water pressure during undrained testing. Two types of sands, Geumgang and Toyoura sands, were collected and TS tests were performed at various densities drainage conditions, and confining pressures. The cyclic threshold shearing strains were estimated based on the variations of shear modulus, material damping ratio and pore pressures with loading cycles. The effects of relative density, confining pressure, and drainage condition on the cyclic threshold shearing strains were investigated.

  • The ordinary differential equations governing free vibrations of elastic horizontally curved beams are derived, in which the effect of shear deformation as well as the effects of vertical deflection, rotatory and torsional inertias are included. Frequencies and mode shapes are computed numerically fer parabolic curved beams with hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped-clamped ends. Comparisons of natural frequencies between this study and ADINA are made to validate the theories and numerical methods developed herein. (omitted)

  • A simplified modeling approach of forced vibration for occupied car seats was demonstrated by using a mathematical model presented in 'Free Vibration of Car seat and Mannequin System' nonlinear and linear equations of motions were rederived for forced vibration and the transfer function was used to calculate the frequency response function. The experimental apparatus were set up and hydraulic shaker was used to obtain the system responses. Through the tests mannequin's head had a lot of problems and the responses with a head and without a head were measured. To explore the effects of linear dampings and friction moments at the joints linear analyses were performed. New sets of linear spring and damping coefficients and torsional dampings at the joints were calculated through parameter study to match up with experimental results. Good agreement between experimental and simulation frequency response estimates were obtained both in terms of locations of resonances and system deflection shapes at resonance indicating that this is a feasible method of modeling seated occupants.
