  • North monk-stupa and East monk-stupa , which are placed in Yeongoksa, are delicately sculptured and historically valued so they have been determined as National Treasures. It is assumed that North monk-stupa was made in early Goryeo Dynasty period. Parts of it were damaged by grave robbery in 2001. So restoration was begun in 2001. While restoring it, wrong arrangement on top of the monkstupa was rearranged. Top of East monk-stupa was also arranged in a wrong way so it was restored to its original form. Because each part of top of the monk-stupa was adhered with epoxy resin, it was separated by using thin saw. After being arranged in right order, the middle of monk-stupa was fixed by setting up stainless steel shaft. Anda of North monk-stupa, concerned about being damaged by crack, was adhered with epoxy resin.

Tracking of the Moryang Fault and It's Characteristics (모량단층의 분포와 특성)

  • Moryang Fault is geomorphologically observed as a linear fault valley from Angang through Moryang, Duckhyun and Wondong to Gimhae, and contacts with Yangsan Fault, being obliquely away to the east, at Angang disrict. The fault valley appears a V-shape feature with a width from 100 to 300 m, and has fragmental zones of the fault along the valley on a small scale. Nine fault-outcrop localities were found along the nine-kilometers valley between Daehyun-ri, Gyeongju, and Baenaemi-gogae, Yangdong-ri, Ulsan. The fault strikes the North-North-East to the Northeast and dips to the Northwest with high angles, and reveals it had been undergone predominantly sinistral reverse fault movement sense, left-lateral and right-lateral strike-slip sense in bedrocks. However, after unconsolidated sediments, there was the top-up-to-the-east dextral reverse fault movement.

  • Purpose - The main target to do this analysis is to find out the competitiveness between 2 countries (China and USA) in the aircraft business industry. The main target about mentioned research is to find out how a certain country takes more advantage against the other partner country in the country's trade structure. Research design, data, and methodology - Mentioned research period ranges from 1995 to 2016. Research basic data are coming from UN COMTRADE database which is top of top in the world statistical data and Research methods are used 3 types of international trade related theory for credible data outcomes. Results - Even though general data about aircraft industry are open to world society, detailed classified data are not easy to get them. Generally, Both China & USA are not easy to obtain data especially, in the overseas production field as a business secret which is one of research limitation in every research scopes. Conclusions - Even though Chinese aircraft industry looks like strong and more advantage against those of other countries based on competitive labor work wages and low price of raw material and resources, Actually, USA has overwhelmingly dominant advantage against that of China in the field of aircraft industry because USA has abundant capitals and up-to-date advanced high-technology as top of world economic communities. Additionally, even if USA aircraft industries hold a dominant position so far, if USA proposes sound competition relationship with China about aircraft industry, both 2 countries' future will be bright as their cooperation will make synergy effects for mutual benefits under current circumstances in 2 countries.

Characteristics of ecological structure and spatial distribution of micro-plankton in relation to water masses in the northern East China Sea(nECS) in summer 2019 (2019년 여름 동중국해 북부해역의 수괴 분포에 따른 미소플랑크톤의 공간분포 및 생태구조 특성)

  • We conducted a field survey to analyze the ecological structure and spatial distribution of microplankton (phytoplankton and ciliates) in relation to water masses at 21 stations on the surface and chlorophyll-a maximum layers (CML) in the Northern East China Sea (nECS; 32°-33°N; 124°00'-127°30'E) from August 3 to August 6, 2019. The results showed that the water masses were divided into Chinese Coastal Waters (CCW) and the Tsushima Warm Current (TWC). The CCW showed the environmental characteristics of high temperature and low salinity, and the TWC showed high temperature and high salinity. The characteristics of the phytoplankton community in the CCW showed various community structures related to the nutrients supplied from the large rivers of the Chinese continent. However, the TWC had simple community structures because it originated near the equator and moved northward. The standing crops of phytoplankton and ciliates were very high in the CCW but showed low at the TWC. In particular, from the higher standing crops of protozoa than plant plankton at the TWC, the energy flow at the lower tropic levels caused by the microbial loop that fed on heterotrophic bacteria played an important role in the production of resource organisms. In other words, the marine ecological structure of the nECS in summer could be estimated as a bottom-up system at the CCW and a top-down system at the TWC.

Building Up Awareness of and Preference for Local Brand Foods -Focus on Dajeon Metropolitan City- (향토음식에 대한 브랜드화 방안 연구 -대전광역시를 중심으로-)

  • This study aimed to identify particular foods that would be most appropriate as representatives foods of Daejeon, as well as the key factors affecting the branding of image of those foods. To achieve these aims we carried out a survey amongst 1,600 citizens and visitors. The Daejeon representative foods were determined to be Gujeuk Dotorimuk (Gu-jeuk acorn jelly), Hanbat Seolleongtang, Dolsotbap (stone pot mixed rice), Sutgol naengmyeon (Sutgol Cold Noodles), Daecheongho Minmulmaeuntang (Daecheong lake freshwater spicy fish soup) and Samgyetang (casserole of spatchcock with ginseng). These six dishes were designated as representative foods in 2001. Findings from the survey indicated the lowest level of brand! dish awareness was 11.6% generally and the top two preferences for the representative foods were ranked as, Samgyetang (24.8%) and Dolsotbap (23.6%). According to an awareness survey age differences played a significant role. Adults displayed a much higher awareness than younger generations. The survey also found that Daejeon city was strongly associated with images of science and technology, particularly areas such as Expo and the Daedeok Valley. This study's results suggests that developing a menu and marketing strategy based upon associated regional images may increase awareness for local foods among young consumers.

The Spreading of Caodaism to Taiwan: Man's Will versus Divine Will

  • Caodaism officially came into existence in 1926 in Southern Vietnam and soon became a spiritual phenomenon, in the sense of spiritual and social influence. Despite being sandwiched between political forces and ruling governments, Caodaism steadily grew far beyond its national boundary. After 95 years, Caodaism eventually reached Taiwan when a new small Cao Đài Congregation, approved by top Cao Đài Dignitaries in Vietnam, was established in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City by a group identifying as 'Vietnamese New Immigrants' in Taiwan. This article traced this religious organization's doctrine, philosophy, prophecy and relevant socio-cultural factors and found that (1) Caodaists see the successful spreading of Caodaism to Taiwan as having been prophesied long ago; (2) Caodaists believe that any human efforts by Cao Đài missionaries to spread Caodaism overseas without approval from Divinities could end up in failure; and (3) the similarities in social, cultural, and religious practices between the peoples of Vietnam and Taiwan lay a strong foundation for Caodaism to further develop in Taiwan.

Bullet Train of Giant Nonlinear Internal Waves from Luzon Strait

  • In the northeastern South China Sea (SCS), fast westward moving (about 2.9 m/s) non-linear internal waves (NLIWs) are emanated nearly daily from the Luzon Strait. Their propagation speed is faster than NLIWs previously observed in the deep water of world oceans, their amplitude of 140 m or more is the largest free propagating NLIWs so far observed in the deep ocean. These NLIWs energized the top 1500 m of the water column, heaving it up and down in 20 min. Their associated energy density and energy flux are the largest observed to date. During 2005 and 2006 experiment, they were found west of the HengChun Ridge (HCR) that links Luzon and Taiwan Islands. This coincides with founding in satellite images, no NLIW front was found east of HCR. But, the turbulent environment east of HCR may prohibit surface signature of NLIWs that were emanated from sills between Batan Islands. The relative contribution of the two ridges on NLIW in Luzon Strait is still under study.

Prediction and analysis of structural noise of a box girder using hybrid FE-SEA method

  • With the rapid development of rail transit, rail transit noise needs to be paid more and more attention. In order to accurately and effectively analyze the characteristics of low-frequency noise, a prediction model of vibration of box girder was established based on the hybrid FE-SEA method. When the train speed is 140 km/h, 200 km/h and 250 km/h, the vibration and noise of the box girder induced by the vertical wheel-rail interaction in the frequency range of 20-500 Hz are analyzed. Detailed analysis of the energy level, sound pressure contribution, modal analysis and vibration loss power of each slab at the operating speed of 140 km /h. The results show that: (1) When the train runs at a speed of 140km/h, the roof contributes more to the sound pressure at the far sound field point. Analyzing the frequency range from 20 to 500 Hz: The top plate plays a very important role in controlling sound pressure, contributing up to 70% of the sound pressure at peak frequencies. (2) When the train is traveling at various speeds, the maximum amplitude of structural vibration and noise generated by the viaduct occurs at 50 Hz. The vibration acceleration of the box beam at the far field point and near field point is mainly concentrated in the frequency range of 31.5-100 Hz, which is consistent with the dominant frequency band of wheel-rail force. Therefore, the main frequency of reducing the vibration and noise of the box beam is 31.5-100 Hz. Spatio-temporal Fluctuation of Phytoplankton Size Fractionation in the Uljin Marine Ranching Area (UMRA), East Sea of Korea (동해 울진 바다목장해역의 크기별 식물플랑크톤 생물량의 시·공간적 분포 특성)

  • To understand size fractioned chlorophyll a and material cycles of coastal ecosystem in Uljin marine ranching area (JMRA) of East Sea, 4 times of survey were conducted from April to November 2008. Picoplankton, nanoplankton and netplankton in the surface of UMRA fluctuated with an annual mean of $0.26{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ between the lowest value of $0.03{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ and the highest value of $0.87{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$, annual mean $1.32{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ between $0.11{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ and $5.60{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$, annual mean $0.45{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ between no detected (nd) and $4.68{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$, respectively. And the relative ratio of picoplankton, nanoplankton and netplanktons on the phytoplankton biomass was on annual average 12.9%, 65.0% and 22.1%, respectively. The 10 m layer was similar to the surface. The relative ratio of pico- and nano-plankton was higher throughout the year. That is, the material cycle of UMRA consists of a microbial food web rather than traditional food chain at a lower trophic levels. Primary production is deemed to have a higher possibility of being adjusted by top-down dynamics, such as micro-zooplankton grazing pressure rather than nutrients supply.

Plant Community Structure by the Slope and Altitude of Tongdaesan Area in Odaesan National Park (오대산 국립공원 동대산지역의 사면. 해발고에 따른 식물군집구조)

  • This study was conducted to analyse plant community structure by the altityed and slope in Tongdaesan area, Odaesan National Park. Sixty-three plots(each plots size was 100m$^{2}$) were set up and PWINSPAN and DCA method were used for vegetational structure analysis. Division of community was cleared altitude than part of slope With increasing elevation the importance values of Quercus mongolica, Tilia amurensis increased, while those of Fraxinus mandshurica, Betula schmidtii, Cornus controversa decreased. Survey plots were divided into 6 groups by the TWINSPAN and DCA method. The divided groups are T. amurensis community(I), Q. mongolica community(II) of upper part of slope of east and west, Q. mongolica-T. amurensis community(III) of middle part of slope, Q. mongolica-F. mandshurica community(IV), Pinus densiflora-B. schmidtii-Carpinus laxiflora community(V) of low elevation of east, F. mandshurica-C. controversa community(VI)of low elevation of west. Also, vegetational change were showed slope of east and west in Tongdaesan except top area for the last twenty yeras.
