  • When using computer-supported collaborative learning(CSCL) tool where learners with different perspective are discussing in the same place, it is difficult to catch connection between specific position of learning content and written message by learners, share each other knowledge and opinion. This study investigated the phenomena responsible for causing "Un-shared knowledge" by literature research and designed collaborative representation tool based on described principle. A version of the Mediated annotation tool was developed for each problem identified and was subsequently tested by software evaluation standard and F.G.I. Final mediated tool will contribute to overcome knowledge sharing barriers, facilitate communication among students and describe high quality solution.

The door module PNL is expected to cause warpage before the mold production due to the thin and flat product characteristics and fiber orientation characteristic of the material. In this paper, CAE analysis and reverse correction tool Design. CAE analysis to obtain the results of weld line position, bending position and deformation value Through the correction tool, think3, the original product was modified before the mold production to improve the completeness of the parts.   • Aerostatic planar XY stages are frequently used as the main frames of precision positioning systems. The machining and assembly process of the rails and bed of the stage is one of first processes performed when the system is built. When the system is complete, the 2D position, motion, and stage flatness errors are measured in tests. If the stage errors exceed the application requirements, the stage must be remachined and the assembly process must be repeated. This is difficult and time-consuming work. In this paper, a method for estimating the errors of a planar XY stage is proposed that can be applied when the rails and bed of the stage are evaluated. Profile measurements, estimates of the motion error, and 2D position estimation models were considered. A comparison of experimental results and our estimates indicated that the estimated errors were within $1{\mu}m$ of their true values. Thus, the proposed estimation method for 2D position and flatness errors of an aerostatic planar XY stage is expected to be a useful tool during the assembly process of guideways.

Influence of the Welding Speeds and Changing the Tool Pin Profiles on the Friction Stir Welded AA5083-O Joints

  • In the present study, AA 5083-O plates are joined by friction stir welding technique. A universal milling machine was used to perform the welding process of the work-pieces which were fixed on the proper position by a vice. The joints were friction stir welded by two tools with different pin profiles; cylindrical threaded pin and tapered smooth one at different rotational speed values; 400 rpm and 630 rpm, and different welding speed values; 100 mm/min and 160 mm/min. During FSW of each joint, the temperature was measured by infra-red thermal image camera. The welded joints were inspected by visually as well as by the macro- and microstructure evolutions. Furthermore, the joints were tested for measuring the hardness and the tensile strength to study the effect of changing the FSW parameters on the mechanical properties. The results show that increasing the rotational speed results in increasing the peak temperature, while increasing the welding speed results in decreasing the peak temperature for the same tool pin profile. Defect free welds were obtained at lower rotational speed by the threaded tool profile. Moreover, the threaded tool pin profile gives superior mechanical properties at lower rotational speed.

  • Reference trajectory generation plays a key role in the computer control for accurate position control of machine. Generated trajectories must not only describe the desired tool path accurately, but must also have smooth kinetic profiles in order to maintain higher tracking accuracy, and to avoid exciting the natural modes of the mechanical servo control system. To achieve higher accurate position control, a method of limiting accelerating and decelerating speed data of reference trajectories is proposed to draw the path with an assigned accuracy without any complex operations.

  • There are two important variables in machining process control, which are feed and cutting speed. In this work, a two degree-of-freedom controller is designed and implemented to achieve on-line cutting force control and position control based on the modelling of cutting process dynamics which are established through step response test. Two schemes are proposed and implemented. The first is feed control under the constant spindle speed and spindle speed control under the constant feed speed. The second is a simultaneous control of feed and spindle speed. The last performs a position control under the constant cutting force. Those are confirmed to work properly. Especially the latter shows a faster response.

  • The equipment of industrial robot in manufacturing and assembly lines has rapidly increased. In order to achieve high productivity and flexibility, it becomes very important to develop the visual feedback control system with Off-Line Programming System(OLPS). We can save much efforts and time in adjusting robots to newly defined workcells by using OLPS. A proposed visual calibration scheme is based on position-based visual feedback. The calibration program firstly generates predicted images of objects in an assumed end-effector position. The process to generate predicted images consists of projection to screen-coordinates, visible range test and construction of simple silhouette figures. Then camera images acquired are compared with predicted ones for updating position and orientation data. Computation of error is very simple because the scheme is based on perspective projection which can be also expanded to experimental results. Computation time can be extremely reduced because the proposed method does not require the precise calculation of tree-dimensional object data and image Jacobian.

  • In switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive, it is necessary to synchronize the stator phase excitation with the rotor position. Therefore the rotor position information is an essential. Usually optical encoders or resolvers are used to provide the rotor position information. These sensors are expensive and are not suitable for high speed operation. In general, the accuracy of the switching angles is dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor. But the region of high speed, switching angles are fluctuated back and forth from the preset values, witch are cause by the sampling period of the microprocessor. Therefore, the low cost linear encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using the simple digital logic circuit is also presented in this paper It is verified from the experiments that the proposed encoder and logic controller can be a powerful candidate for the practical low cost SRM drive.

  • This paper presents a dynamic modeling and a robust PID controller design process for the wire bonder head assembly. For the modeling elements, the system is divided into electrical system, magnetic system, and mechanical system. Each system is modeled by using the bond graph method. The PID controller is used for high speed/high accuracy position control of the wire bonder assembly. The Taguchi method is used to evaluate the more robust PID gain combinations than conventional one. This study makes use of an L18 array with three parameters varied on three levels. Computer simulations and experimental results show that the designed PID controller provides more improved signal to noise ratio and reduced sensitivity than the conventional PID controller.
