A case study of ECN data conversion for Korean and foreign ecological data integration

  • In recent decades, as it becomes increasingly important to monitor and research long-term ecological changes, worldwide attempts are being conducted to integrate and manage ecological data in a unified framework. Especially domestic ecological data in South Korea should be first standardized based on predefined common protocols for data integration, since they are often scattered over many different systems in various forms. Additionally, foreign ecological data should be converted into a proper unified format to be used along with domestic data for association studies. In this study, our interest is to integrate ECN data with Korean domestic ecological data under our unified framework. For this purpose, we employed our semi-automatic data conversion tool to standardize foreign data and utilized ground beetle (Carabidae) datasets collected from 12 different observatory sites of ECN. We believe that our attempt to convert domestic and foreign ecological data into a standardized format in a systematic way will be quite useful for data integration and association analysis in many ecological and environmental studies.

  • In the large and multifunctional engineering system, the heterogeneous computer system situation is inevitable. Accordingly a lot of integration efforts are being made to comply with the industrial requirement of productivity. In this paper, a practical concept of integration is introduced through the development of a prototype system for ship outfitting design which is a typical example of large/multi-functional application system. On the development of the prototype system, three points are considered as a practical concept-which are integration of database, integration of application programs, and system-user interface. The relation model based commercial database management system(RDBMS) is used to build the project integrated database, and the graphical user interface tool(OSF/Motif) on X-window system is used for the integration of application programs and the user interface.

The Changes of Self-efficacy Beliefs of Pre-service Teachers for Technology Integration through Programming-based TPACK Educational Program

  • In this paper, we propose the effects of programming-based TPACK educational program on the pre-service teacher's self-efficacy beliefs for technology integration. For this study, pre-service teachers who received programming education and TPACK education based on ICT were set as control group and pre-service teachers who received programming-based TPACK education as experimental group. In order to observe the change, the pre-service teachers conducted the test tool to measure the self-efficacy beliefs for technology integration before and after applying the educational program. As a result of the study, only the pre-service teachers who received the programming-based TPACK education showed significant improvement in the self-efficacy beliefs for technology integration. Furthermore, in the post-test, the experimental group showed a significantly higher difference than the control group. Through this study, it was concluded that programming-based TPACK educational program is effective in enhancing pre-service teacher's self-efficacy beliefs for technology integration.

푸리에 급수를 이용한 엔드밀링 절삭력 및 공구변형 표현 (Closed Form Expression of Cutting Forces and Tool Deflection in End Milling Using Fourier Series)

  • Machining accuracy is closely related with tool deflection induced by cutting forces. In this research, cutting forces and tool deflection in end milling are expressed as a closed form of tool rotational angle and cutting conditions. The discrete cutting fores caused by periodic tool entry and exit are represented as a continuous function using the Fourier series expansion. Tool deflection is predicted by direct integration of the distributed loads on cutting edges. Cutting conditions, tool geometry, run-outs and the stiffness of tool clamping part are considered together far cutting forces and tool deflection estimation. Compared with numerical methods, the presented method has advantages in prediction time reduction and the effects of feeding and run-outs on cutting forces and tool deflection can be analyzed quantitatively. This research can be effectively used in real time machining error estimation and cutting condition selection for error minimization since the form accuracy is easily predicted from tool deflection curve.

  • 전략경영의 중요이슈는 전략수립, 전략실행 및 성과측정에 이르는 일련의 전력경영과정을 하나의 관리적 이론으로 통합하는데 있다. 본 논문은 파워프로세스에 기초하여 전략경영 과정을 하나의 관리적 이론으로 통합하기 위한 이론과 실천적 방안을 제시하여 전략적 성공이나 지속가능 경쟁우위에 기여하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 파워프로세스의 원리와 특성을 논의하고 이를 기반으로 전략경영의 과정의 통합을 위한 학술적 및 실천적 방안을 제시하고 있다. 또한 본 논문에서는 경쟁우위를 위한 산업구조, 자원기반 및 게임이론 접근의 가정과 경쟁적 환경 및 상대적 우위에 대해서 논의하고, 파워프로세스의 성격과 특성을 규명하여 파워프로세스에 의한 경쟁우위 접근이 이들과의 상대적 위치를 규명하였다. 파워프로세스는 경쟁우위를 위한 전략수립과 관리적 개념을 통합할 수 있는 이론적 및 경영적 방안을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 전략성공에 크게 기여할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a methodology which can make effective test for system integration of complex guided missile system. System integration test play a significant role in the development of weapon system, providing the means to detect and isolate faults on first linkage between sub-systems. Integration tests for domestic weapon system has executed not a technology-intensive method based on tool but labor-intensive method based on experience. Higher cost, longer period, and more resource are required to execute system integration test for complex guided missile system comparing with past weapon systems, because recently weapon systems have more complex and more networked functions. Because the proposed design method for system integration test decreases number of test case, it lead to a decrease of cost, period, and resource for integration test of weapon system. The proposed configuration for system integration test will ensure reliability through detection and isolation of fault on linkage between sub-systems.

  • The level of awareness and actual implementation of integration and computerization in the construction industry is growing. However, it is not clear at this point how to assess the extent of their impact and to identify in which ways they better support the construction projects related to their success. The objectives of this research are the development of a model to evaluate the impact of integration and computerization on construction projects and the recommendation of guidelines for companies in identifying suitable ways for them to incorporate integration and computerization Into their operation. The developed conceptual model has been found robust enough to be used as a benchmarking tool in evaluating the performance of the construction process and to strategize its future operation.
