This paper presents a methodology for In-Process monitoring of tool wear by using ultrasonic sensor in turning operation. An integrated single ultrasonic transducer operation at a frequency of 10MHz is placed in contact with the insert tip. The change in amount of the reflected energy from the nose and flank of the tool can be related to the level of tool wear and the mechanical integrity of the tool. As the results, the tool wear monitoring system based on the ultrasonic pulse-echo method was proposed, it is useful to determine a tool life and tool change time.

A 5-axis NC milling technology is presented on ruled surface. Problems in 5-axis NC machining are such as tool interference, tool collision and change of tool attitude, etc. The change of tool attitude causes rotation of cutter and variation of feedrate to overcut part surface. This poor control of tool attitude is the primary problem in multi-axis NC milling. This paper observes ruled surface for control of tool attitude. Ruled surface is composed of directrix and ruling, line of constant magnitude. Directrix corresponds to points on part surface and Ruling cutting tool. Trajectory of tool movement corresponds to ruled surface.

Experimental study was conducted for finding the characteristics of machining precision according to the change of feedrate when ball endmilling of semisphere shape. The values of tool deflection and cutting force were measured simultaneously by the systems of eddy-current sensor and dynamometer. The machining precision was analyzed by roundness values, which were deeply relating with tool deflection and forces. the roundness was decreased in down-milling than in up-milling for each feedrate. As the cutting edge is moved to radius direction on the tool path, the tool deflection and the cutting force were seemed to be decreased. As the tool path was moved downward, the values of roundness, cutting force and tool deflection were obtained better ones. When compared the values of roundness, cutting force and tool deflection for different feedrate, the best machining accuracy was obtained at feed rate of 90mm/min in down-milling.

The purpose of this study was to develop a concept test tool for seasonal change with reliability and validity, and to objectively observe and analyze sub-concepts and misconceptions related to the concept of seasonal change to explain the relationship between variables. The development process of the conceptual change concept inspection tool consisted of the development of the inspection tool development plan, the development of the inspection tool draft, the modification of the preliminary inspection and inspection tools, the development of the final inspection tool, and the implementation of this inspection. The developed test tool can be used to provide students with appropriate learning and help by examining students' degree of seasonal change concept formation and analyzing the cause of the difficulty in concept formation. As a result of regression analysis of 198 students in 6th grade using the developed test tool, it was found that the understanding of pre-learning concept and correction of misconception had a statistically significant effect on the concept learned in the seasonal change unit, and misconception had greater effect. Correction of misconceptions had a significant effect on students above the average score among the two sections created and cut based on the average score, and on the students below the average score, the understanding of pre-learning concept had a significant effect.

An intelligent polishing robot automation system is developed. Automatic Tool Change System(A.T.C.), Tool Posture Angle Control, and Robot Program for Polishing Application are developed and integrated into a robotic system that consists of a robot, pneumatic finding tool, and finding abrasives (papers and special films). A.T.C. is specifically designed to exchange whole grinding tool set for complete unmanned operation. Tool Posture Angle Control is developed to give a certain skew angle rather than right angle to tools on the surface for best finishing results. A.T.C. and Tool Posture Angle Control is controlled by a PC and the robot controller. Also, there have been some considerations on enhancing the performance of the system. Some elastic material is inserted between the grinding pad and the holder for better grinding contact. The robot path data is generated automatically from the NC data of previous machining process.

Because of the development in mold industries, the geometrical form accuracy of the milled surface is getting more and more important. It has been known that the geometrical form accuracy is affected by machine conditions, cutting conditions, tool conditions and tool path and so on. Among them, the tool approaching path causes the change in material removal per tooth at the end of each machining cycle. And, this change generates the geometrical form error around the region where the tool engages the workpiece initially. So, it is impossible to eliminate the geometrical error caused by the tool approaching path. Thus, characteristics of this geometrical error are studied analytically and experimentally to minimize this region.

This paper presents the influence of the process parameters on the change in dynamic behavior of a lathe turning system. With variation of feed rate, depth of cut, direction of tool motion, cutting speed and tool location along the workpiece, the dynamic characteristics of stable cutting, chatter transition and fully developed chatter regions are demonstrated. The workpiece vibration during machining is continuously measured at different tool locations along the workpiece and quantitatively analyzed. Complex linear behavior due to change of process parameter values as well as fundamental wystem nonlinearity due to change of process configuration indicated by a tool path dependence of the locations of chatter onset and disappearance are described. Finally, the structural characteristics of the turning system which can have large and nonlinear effects on system behavior are presented.
Climate change scenarios are the basis of research to cope with climate change, and consist of large-scale spatio-temporal data. From the data point of view, one scenario has a large capacity of about 83 gigabytes or more, and the data format is semi-structured, making it difficult to utilize the data through means such as search, extraction, archiving and analysis. In this study, a tool for analyzing extreme climate events based on spatial information is developed to improve the usability of large-scale, multi-period climate change scenarios. In addition, a pilot analysis is conducted on the time and space in which the heavy rain thresholds that occurred in the past can occur in the future, by applying the developed tool to the RCP8.5 climate change scenario. As a result, the days with a cumulative rainfall of more than 587.6 mm over three days would account for about 76 days in the 2080s, and localized heavy rains would occur. The developed analysis tool was designed to facilitate the entire process from the initial setting through to deriving analysis results on a single platform, and enabled the results of the analysis to be implemented in various formats without using specific commercial software: web document format (HTML), image (PNG), climate change scenario (ESR), statistics (XLS). Therefore, the utilization of this analysis tool is considered to be useful for determining future prospects for climate change or vulnerability assessment, etc., and it is expected to be used to develop an analysis tool for climate change scenarios based on climate change reports to be presented in the future.

The study on the progress of automatic machining system has been active centering at the CNC machine tools recently to lead the applied production technology like unmaned machining to the practical level, and to make these application more efficient, they require detective method for tool wear and breakage while machining. In this study chiefly on turning, first derive cutting force about the tool surface by the cutting resistant sensor and with which change into electric signal and compare with the standards to make the tool life detection system to let know the tool life and study its application; the cutting resistance detected by the cutting resistant sensor has increased to the level of standards, the measuring system which can decide whether we change tools on the basis of comperative circuit is shown to be very reliable model for cutting tool life detection system.

The factors which can improve tool life in machining are consisted of tool geometries, tool materials, coating methods. cutting environments, cutting conditions and so on. Cutting speed in cutting conditions is one of the important factors which can directly influence on the tool life. This paper deals the machinability which is concerned about the cutting direction and the tilt angle of fret form surface in hot die steel(STD I I). The NC datum were analysrd and the effective tool diameters were calculated according to the change of tilt angle the program which can continue the cutting speed with the change of spindle revolution is developed.
