  • A target adaptive guidance(TAG) algorithm is proposed employing the near-zone signal that can be measured from an infrared seeker. The guidance order is composed of a conventional PNG command and an additional command to be calculable from an additional LOS rate between a hot point of target and a required intercept point. The characteristic of the near-zone signal is similar to that of LOS rate that is inversely proportional to the square of time-to-go. Hence the proposed scheme can be applied to real systems with no estimator for time-to-go. From analysis results on the miss distance with perfect missile and perfect seeker, it follows that the proposed TAG algorithm guarantees missile to be ideally guided to the required intercept point. And it is less affected by the TAG start time and a proportional navigation ratio than other TAG schemes using a LOS rate such as a step bias or a ramp bias.

  • To evaluate the neurotoxic effect of oxygen radicals in cultured mouse spinal dorsal root ganglion(DRG) neurons, cytotoxicity was determined by MTT assay after cultured DRG neurons were grown in the media containing various concentrations of glucose oxidase(GO). In addition, neuroprotective effect of herb extract, Epimedium Koreanum Nakai was examined by MTT assay in cultured DRG neurons. Cell viability of cultured DRG neurons was remarkably decreased by GO in dose- and time-dependent manner, and Epimedium Koreanum Nakai protected remarkably GO-induced neurotoxicity in these cultures. From the above results, it is suggested that oxygen radicals is toxic in cultured mouse DRG neurons, and herb extracts such as Epimedium Koreanum Nakai are effective in prevention of the neurotoxicity induced by oxygen radicals in cultured mouse DRG neurons.

  • It is very important to support real-time on the inspection equipment based on Windows. In particular, in the system using MIL-STD-1553B communication, which is widely used in military weapon systems, real-time is required for inspection equipment that uses mostly platforms based on Windows such as Industrial PCs. However, in order to use a complete real-time operating system such as VxWorks, the purchase cost is expensive and the implementation is complicated on the system, so it is not suitable for inspection equipment that requires simple functions to just check go or no-go. Therefore, in this paper, a Real-Time implanted Kernel(RTiK) in the Windows kernel is implanted in order to improve these defects, and real-time performance is implemented for periodically MIL-STD-1553B communication by Deferred Procedure Call(DPC) of Windows. Also, it was verified that the period of up to 2ms was guaranteed with a RDTSC into the EDX:EAX registers for measuring the periodicity.

  • High pollutant-loading capacities (up to 319 times its own weight) are achieved by three-dimensional (3D) macroporous, slightly reduced graphene oxide (srGO) sorbents, which are prepared through ice-templating and consecutive thermal reduction. The reduction of the srGO is readily controlled by heating time under a mild condition (at 1 10−2 Torr and 200℃). The saturated sorption capacity of the hydrophilic srGO sorbent (thermally reduced for 1 h) could not be improved further even though the samples were reduced for 10 h to achieve the hydrophobic surface. The large meso- and macroporosity of the srGO sorbent, which is achieved by removing the residual water and the hydroxyl groups, is crucial for achieving the enhanced capacity. In particular, a systematic study on absorption parameters indicates that the open porosity of the 3D srGO sorbents significantly contributes to the physical loading of oils and organic solvents on the hydrophilic surface. Therefore, this study provides insight into the absorption behavior of highly macroporous graphene-based macrostructures and hence paves the way to development of promising next-generation sorbents for removal of oils and organic solvent pollutants.

  • In this paper, a game optimal receding horizon guidance law (GRHG) is proposed, which does not use information of the time-to-go and target maneuvers. It is shown that by adjusting design parameters appropriately, the proposed GRHG is identical to the existing receding horizon guidance law (RHG), which can intercept the target by keeping the relative vertical separation less than the given value, within which the warhead of the missile is detonated, after the appropriately selected time in the presence of arbitrary target maneuvers and initial relative vertical separation rates between the target and missile. Through a simulation study, the performance of the GRHG is illustrated and compared with that of the existing optimal guidance law (OGL).

  • In general, organic electrochromic (EC) materials have been known to be electrochemically unstable during the ionic exchange process. One effective method to realize stable EC materials is incorporating graphene derivatives in the polymer matrix, by using the strong interaction between graphene derivatives and polymer. However, previous studies are limited graphene derivatives. In this study, we developed a polymer-graphene derivative complex with the chemical assistance of a surfactant (octadecylamine, ODA). Surfactant-assisted graphene oxide (GO-ODA) was introduced as a protective layer on the electrochromic poly (3-hexyl thiophene) (P3HT) films by the Langmuir-Schaefer method. The deposition of GO-ODA protective layer with high coverage was confirmed by atomic force microscopy. The strong interactions between GO-ODA and P3HT were examined with UV-Vis spectrophotometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Electrochemical and electrochromic investigations revealed that the GO-ODA layer greatly improved the long-term cyclability of the P3HT film. These findings imply that the GO-ODA complex has a significant role in creating stable EC cycling, due to its strong interaction with the P3HT film.

  • Corresponding recent continuous development of multimedia technology with improved desire of using various contents, a new realistic feeling media technology is being created. Of them all, multi-view video is being researched actively as foundation technology of 3D TV, free-view point video etc. But encoding time and bit-rate are increased as view numbers are increased. In this paper we propose improved GoGOP structure to enhance the coding efficiency of multi-view video by applying methods which are using techniques such as Key frame position adjustment, dynamically changing the number of I frame and B frame. As experimental results, technique proposed in this paper reduces bit-rate having similar PSNR value compared with Anchor structure.

  • It has been suggested that oxidative stress of reactive oxygen species(ROS) may play an important role in the pathogenesis of neurological disorder. The aim of this study was to elucidate the oxidative stress of glucose oxidase(GO) in the cultured mouse spinal motor neurons and the preventing effect of Benincasae Semen(BS) on ROS-induced neurotoxicity. Cytotoxic effect of GO and protective effect of BS were performed by MTT assay. 30mU/ml GO decreased cell viability in dose-and time-dependent mannner, and BS diminished GO-induced neurotoxicity in these cultures. From above the results, ROS such as GO has toxic effect, and herb extract of BS is very effective against GO-induced neurotoxicity in cultured spinal motor neurons of neonatal mouse.

  • The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in conjunction with mirror therapy on the balance function of patients with sub-acute stroke hemiparesis. This study was conducted with 36 subjects who were diagnosed with a hemiparesis due to stroke. Participants in the experimental (19 members) and control groups (17 members) received rTMS and sham rTMS during 10 minute sessions each, which were carried out five days per week for four weeks. This was followed by the mirror therapy over 30 minute sessions, which were carried out five days per week for four weeks. Motor recovery was assessed by balance index, dynamic limits of stability, Berg balance scale, and time up go test. The change values of the balance index ($-2.06{\pm}1.99$ versus $-0.41{\pm}1.11$), dynamic limits of stability ($3.68{\pm}2.71$ versus $1.17{\pm}2.38$), and time up go test ($-7.05{\pm}5.64$ score versus $-3.35{\pm}5.30$ score) were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p < 0.05). At post-test, balance index ($4.08{\pm}1.14$ versus $5.09{\pm}1.04$), dynamic limits of stability ($13.75{\pm}0.60$ versus $11.73{\pm}3.53$), and time up go test ($23.89{\pm}4.51$ versus $28.82{\pm}3.07$) were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p < 0.05). In the experimental group, significant differences were found in the pre- and post-test scores for the balance index, dynamic limits of stability, Berg balance scale, and time up go test (p < 0.01). In the control group, a significant difference was observed between the pre- and post-test only for the Berg balance scale and time up go test (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that the application of 1Hz rTMS in conjunction with mirror therapy can be helpful in improving the balance function of patients with sub-acute stroke hemiparesis, and this may be used as a practical adjunct to routine rehabilitation therapy.

  • In this paper, in order to develop a remote progress management system through the Internet, we show a design method to make easy maintenance by developing the system with both the JAVA language and GoF Design Patterns. For the system implementation, we added the RS232C and RS422/RS485 communication modules to PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) in the control box which provide the real time status data of machines. Also we set up the RS232C to Ethernet converter based on wireless environment to communicate the PLC control data. We use JAVA Swing components to implement the multi-tier architecture system supported the GUI of the Applet and Frame at the same time so that the manager grasps the progress of work easily at the remote machines through the Internet. The key objective of the multi-tier architecture is to share resources among clients, this proposed system can help to develop the software to control the remote machine, and also it has the advantage that developer who wants to make a similar software can make easy to add new function reusing the existing codes.
