  • The end-to-end service clock recovery is a critical issue in providing constandt bit rate service through ATM network. The Synchronous Residual Time Stamp(SRTS) algorithm is used to recovery the source clock using time stamp of transmitter. In thispaper, we propose a Differential Residual Time Stamp (DRTS) transmission mechanism to effectively deliver the timing information of source clock in SRTS algorithm. The RTS transmission method simple in its hardware. From the results of field trial of DS3 rate interactive video communication system through B-ISDN testbed, it can be identified that DRTS method is superior to the RTS method.

  • This paper presents new approaches for the calculation for the calculation of each user's wheeling prices based on the economic analysis method with focus on the postage stamp rule. The suggested postage stamp rules can overcome the following problems embedded in the conventional accounting-costs-based methods such as the volatileness of wheeling prices depending deprieciation methods, emerging the wheeling free-riders due to the difference between accounting life-time and technical life-time, price discrimination between firm and non-firm network users, etc. To solve these problems we suggest new postage stamp rules employing capital recovery factor for investment costs treatment and applying technical life-time. Furthermore, we have suggested a new formulation for non-firm wheeling users based on the wheeling energies. In the case study, the results of suggested postage stamp methodologies are compared with those of conventional approaches.

  • 일반적으로 TDMA(Time Division Multiple Access)를 기반으로 하는 양방향 위성 통신 시스템에서는 중심국과 멀리 떨어진 단말국간의 네트워크 동기를 필요로 한다. 본 논문은 양방향 위성시스템을 위한 국제규격인 DVB-S2/RCS2에서 제시한 NCR(Network Clock Reference) 복원 구조를 기반으로 네트워크 클럭 동기에 대한 개념을 설명한다. 또한 DVB-S2에서 CCM(Constant Coding & Modulation) 운용 모드와 부호율, 변조방식을 바꿔 throughput을 최적화 하는 ACM(Adaptive Coding & Modulation) 운용 모드를 지원하는 새로운 NCR 삽입 구조를 제안하였으며 이에 대한 시뮬레이션을 통해 타당성을 검증하였다.
