  • Antireflective pyramid arrays can be readily obtained via anisotropic etching in alkaline solution (KOH, NaOH), which is widely used in crystalline-Si (c-Si) solar cells. The periodic inverted pyramid arrays show even lower light reflectivity because of their superior light-trapping characteristics. Since this inverted pyramidal structures are mostly achieved using very complex techniques such as photolithograpy and laser processes requiring extra costs, here, we demonstrate the Cu-nanoparticle assisted chemical etching processes to make the inverted pyramidal arrays without the need of photolithography. We have mainly controlled the concentration of $Cu(NO_3)_2$, HF, $H_2O_2$ and temperature as well as time factors that affecting the reaction. Optimal inverted pyramid structure was obtained through reaction parameters control. The reflectance of inverted pyramid arrays showed < 10% over 400 to 1100 nm wavelength range while showing 15~20% in random pyramid arrays.

  • In this paper, we describe a solution to improve the effects of the transmitter leakage signals on the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar with a single antenna configuration. We analyze characteristics of the IF noise caused by insufficient isolation between transmitter and receiver. The magnitude of the intermediate frequency (IF) noise from a front-end can be reduced by matching the LO signal delay time with that of the largest leakage source. Because the IF noise has periodic singularities at nT$_{m}$/2, t=0,1,2$\cdots$, we find that spectrum of the IF noise due to the leakage signals is very similar to that of the VCO moduation signal except low frequency elements in the vicinity of DC. Based on the studies, we fabricated a W-band homodyne FMCW radar sensor and verified the proposed solution. The results are applicable to design of the homodyne FMCW radar with a single antenna configuration.

  • A TrustZone-based rootkit detecting solution using a secure timer ensures the integrity of monitoring system, because ARM TrustZone technology provides isolated environments from a monitored OS against intercepting and modifying invoke commands. However, it is vulnerable to transient attack due to periodic monitoring. Also, Address Translation Redirection Attack (ATRA) cannot be detected, because the monitoring is operated by using the physical address of memory. To ameliorate this problem, we propose a snoop-based kernel introspection system. The proposed system can monitor a kernel memory in real-time by using a snooper, and detect memory-bound ATRA by introspecting kernel pages every context switch of processes. Experimental results show that the proposed system successfully protects the kernel memory without incurring any significant performance penalty in run-time.

  • Sodium dodecyl sulfate, which was anionic surfactant, at a concentration higher than its critical micellar concentration was added to calcium solution for forming micelles. Then aggregates were formed by adsorption or binding of calcium ions on the surface of micelles, and gathering between them, and then rejected by two kinds of ceramic membranes to remove calcium ions. As result, rejection rates of calcium were higher than 99.98%. And in our experimental range the higher TMP trended to increase the resistance of membrane fouling ($R_f$), total permeate volume ($V_T$), dimensionless permeate flux ($J/J_o$) and permeate flux (J) because TMP was driving force. And we investigated effects of $N_2$-back-flushing time and filtration time, that was back-flushing period, during periodic $N_2$-back-flushing on ceramic membranes. As result, optimal BTs for NCMT-623l ($0.07{\mu}m$ pore size) and NCMT-7231 membrane ($0.10{\mu}m$) were 10 sec and 15 sec, respectively. Also, optimal FT was 5 min for both membranes, and the frequent $N_2$-back-flushing could decrease membrane fouling effectively. Then, the optimal conditions resulting from our experiments for synthetic calcium solution were applied to groundwater using as washing process of soymilk package. As result, rejection rates of calcium were higher than 99.98%.

  • To study some informations on the morphogenesis and developmental process of the coronal suture in rats, the author performed daily oral administrations of demethylchlorotetracycline, a kind of tetracycline group, in the amount of 30mg/kg of body weight to the female rats from the 7th day of pregnancy to the time of delivery. Microscopic evaluation was undertaken on the fetal rats in the experimental group. The subject of this experiment were defined to the fetal rats of each group at 1st, 3rd, 7th and 14th day after birth. All these fetal rats were sacrificed and the heads were removed. All the tissue sections were fixed with $10\%$ formalin, Bouin' and Carnoy' solution and then stained by Hematoxylin-Van Gieson stain, or Feulgen and Rossenbeck, Periodic acid Schiff, and prepared for alcian blue reaction. The results were as follows; 1. The directions of osteogenic fibers were arranged irregulary during first 3 days, but after the 7th day they tended to change radial directions like control group. 2. The density of deep stained cells by Feulgen-Rossenbeck reaction were shown leu in the experimental group than that in the control group in first 3 days, but there was shown no significant difference between both groups after the 7th day. 3. PAS reaction in early stage was generally negative in the experimental group unlike as in the control group, but diffuse reaction was observed in the loose middle zone like as in the control group after 14th day. 4. Alcian blue reaction was negative in cambial zone, and slightly positive in uniting zone compared with control group in early stage. After 14th day, however, there was observed a tendency of moderately positive reaction.

  • This paper describes a new method to eliminate some selected harmonics (5,7,11) in PWM waveforms using Walsh and related orthogonal functions. Previous analyses of PWM waveforms are based on the nonlinear equations requiring iterative solution methods which are not practical in real-time systems. In addition, synthesis of low harmonics waveform at high power system is not easy to implement with power electronic hardware. The goal of this paper is to achieve the harmonics elimination in a PWM waveform by replacing the nonlinear equations in Fourier analysis with linear algebraic equations resulting from the use of orthogonal Walsh equation. This paper also describes how to synthesize low ordered harmonic waveforms with practical power electronic hardware. Walsh and Radmacher functions are easily manipulated by Harmuth's array generator, and those algorithms are accurate, computationally efficient and faster than algorithm based on Fourier analysis. In addition, this method is simulated to synthesize periodic PWM waveforms. From the experi-mental results, it is shown that single-phase PWM waveform are identified with the proposed method. And these methods are also extended to three-phase PWM waveforms in this paper.

  • Vehicle to Everything (V2X) communication has been growing to enhance traffic safety by employing advanced wireless communication systems. V2X communication is one core solution for governing and advancing future traffic safety and mobility. In this paper, we design the system level simulator (SLS) of Long Term Evolution (LTE)-based V2X and propose the adaptive transmission scheme for vehicle communication. The proposed scheme allocates the resource randomly in time and frequency domain, and transmit the message according to probability of transmission. The performance analysis is based on freeway case in periodic message transmission. Simulation results show that proposed scheme can improve the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of packet reception ratio (PRR) and average PRR.

  • New CCD BVR light curves of BD And are presented. Our light curves with nearly equal depths for both primary and secondary eclipses show well-defined photometric waves outside eclipse for all of BVR bandpasses. The orbital period is greatly revised as $0.^d92580519$ which is twice longer than that known previously. Sixteen timings from our observations and thirteen ones from the SuperWASP measurements were calculated. All available timings over 76 years, including ours, were analyzed to figure out the dynamical behavior of the system. It was found that the recent CCD O-C residuals varied in a cyclical way with a period of $9.^y18$ and a semi-amplitude of $0.^d0046$. The secondary period of $9.^y18$ is the most shortest one among those which have been ever found in the short period RS CVn binary stars. The periodic variation most likely arises from the light-travel time effect due to a low-mass ($m_3{\sim}0.88\;M_{\odot}$) tertiary companion moving in an orbit with an large eccentricity ($e_3$=0.70) and a low inclination ($i_3{\sim}28^{\circ}$). The Applegate mechanism could not operate properly in both components because the model parameters require too much large luminosity changes of ${\Delta}L/L_{p,s}$ > 10. The new light curves were synthesized using the 2003 version of Wilson-Divinney code. It was found useful to model two huge spots on the surface of the hotter star and a third-light in order to minimize the residuals from the observations. Astronomical basic parameters were deduced from our photometric solution.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of morphology and structure of bone tissue, caused by administration of high-dose hydrocortisone, elcatonin and cyclophosphamide. In order to carry out experiment, 60 four-week old Sprague-Dawley strain rats weighing about 107 gms were selected and divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group was subdivided into three groups, assigned fifteen rats for each group, by the different drugs administered. Each experimental group was then categorized as follows: hydrocortisone 30㎎/㎏ b.w. with daily subcutaneous injection, elcatonin 20U/㎏ b.w. with daily subcutaneous injection, and cyclophosphamide 100㎎/㎏ b.w. with a single intraperitoneal injection. Fifteen rats were injected daily with 5㎖/㎏ b.w. of normal saline solution subcutaneously in control group. Rats in control group and experimental group were serially sacrificed on the 6th, the 15th and the 22nd day after injection of normal saline, hydrocortisone, elcatonin and cyclophosphamide, respectively. Being sacrificed, both sides of mandibular condyles were removed and fixed with 10% neutral formaline. The one side of mandibular condyles was radiographed with soft X-ray apparatus. Thereafter, the obtained radiographs were observed, and the bone density of condylar head and condylar neck regions was measured by use of transferring video-based digital radiograph. The other side was further decalcified and embedded in paraffin as usual manner, then sectioned and stained with hematoxylin and eosin, observed by light microscope. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Sclerotic changes with regularly increased trabecular pattern were seen throughout experimental periods in hydrocortisone group. Increased the number of trabecular pattern with irregularity and periodic striation on the periphery of condylar head region were appeared with lapse of time in elcatonin group. In cyclophosphamide group, irregular trabecular pattern and stippled radiopacities on mandibular condyle were observed with lapse of time. 2. The bone density of condylar head region was increased in hydrocortisone group, decreased in elcatonin group, and tended to be decreased in cyclophosphamide group, compared with that of control group according to the experimental periods. 3. The bone density of condylar neck region tended to be rather increased in hydrocortisone group, elcatonin group and cyclophosphamide group, depending on the experimental periods. 4. In microscopic studies, there were irregular trabecular bonds and osteoblastic activity in hydrocortisone group and elcatonin group throughout experimental periods, degenerative cartilage and trabecular bones in the 6th day and densely calcified trabecular bones in the 22nd day in cyclophosphamide group.

  • A formulation of three-dimensional model of articulated train-b ridge dynamic interaction has been made for the Korean eXpress Train (KTX). Semi-periodic profiles of rail irregularities consisting of elevation, alignment, cross and gauge irregularities have also been proposed using FRA maximum tolerable rail deviations. The effects of rail joints and sleeper step were also included. The resulting system matrices of train and bridge are very spare, and thus, are stored in one-dimensional arrays, yielding a time-efficient solution. A numerical algorithm for computing bridge-train response including an iterative scheme is also formulated. A program simulating train-bridge interaction and solving this problem using the new algorithm is implemented as new modules for the f inite element analysis software named XFINAS. Computed results using the new program are then checked by that of the validated 2-D bridge-train interaction model. This new 3D analysis provides more detailed train responses such as swaying, bouncing, rolling, pitching and yawing accelerations, which are useful inevaluating passenger riding comfort. Train operation safety and derailment could also be directly investigated by relative wheel displacements computed from this program.
