  • This study attempts to examine the setting time retarding properties of cement paste according to the sugar type change. It was confirmed that the setting time retarding performance was excellent in the order of sugar powder and white sugar, and that the setting time retarding performance of saccharin and aspartame was insignificant.

  • Chemical composition of cement powder influences the setting time and early compressive strength development. The setting time increases as the amounts of zinc oxide and magnesium oxide are increased. For one day compressive strength development, a cement powder with a composition 90% ZnO, 8% MgO and 2% silica resulted in the highest strength (greater than 1, 090 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$). Cement-forming liquids also need to be buffered, with both aluminum and zinc ions, for a good consistency and a higher strength of the zinc phosphate cement. These liquids control the setting reactions.

급결제를 혼합한 시멘트페이스트의 응결시간에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Setting Time of Cement Paste Mixed Accelerating Admixtures)

  • 응결시간은 터널 라이닝과 경사면의 보강 등의 품질에 영향을 미치는 매우 중요한 인자이다. 그러나 현재까지도 이를 개선하는데 이용될 급결제의 품질에 대한 기준은 잘 정립되어 있지 않은 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 급결제를 혼합한 시멘트의 응결시간 측정방법에 대한 평가가 Gillmore 및 Vicat needle 시험법들을 이용하여 수행되었다. 양 시험법에 있어서, 초결과 종결에 관계없이 동시첨가법이 후첨가법보다 우수하게 나타났다. Gillmore needle 시험법에서는 2종류의 측정법이 사용되었으며 동일한 급결제를 사용한 경우에도 시멘트의 종류에 따라 응결시간이 서로 달랐다. 따라서 급결제 제조사에서는 시멘트의 종류에 덜 민감한 급결제의 개발에 관심을 더 두어야 함을 알 수 있다. 한편, Vicat needle 시험법에서는 6종류의 측정법이 사용되었으며 급결제의 측정 방법에 대한 적절한 방법이 다음과 같이 제안되었다. (1) 사용되는 재료의 온도는 적절히 제어되어야 한다. (2) 급결제의 특성을 평가하기 위해서는 시멘트 무게 대비 $5\%$의 급결제를 사용해야 한다.

  • This paper presents the results of field experiment to apply the difference of setting tine method using super retarding agent for reducing hydration heat of mass concrete of foundation. According to the results, as the properties of fresh concrete, base concrete satisfies aimed slump and air content, and there is no difference of slump and air content with mixture of super retarding agent. The mixing ratio of super retarding agent is determined for setting time to be retarded by 12 hours in comparison with base concrete, but because the temperature of the air and concrete is low, the difference of setting time is retarded to 24 hours. In man concrete of foundation to which the difference of setting time method is applied, crack by hydration heat is not seen because the lower concrete of super retarding agent generates heat after generation of hydration heat of the upper concrete.

치과용 인상재의 젖음성 및 경화시간 비교 (Comparison of wettability and setting time of dental impression materials)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare wettability and setting time of twelve polyvinylsiloxane impression pastes. For comparing the wettability, the contact angle of a water drop on the impression materials was measured. It is important for impression materials to have higher wettability when trying to make impressions of interproximal spaces and gingival crevices. The higher wettability the better the material will flow into these spaces and the more accurate the impression. An ideal impression material will have adequate working time but a fast intraoral setting time. The clinician needs time to inject material into the sulcus, place the impression material into the tray and position it in the mouth, but the material should set rapidly to reduce time in the patient's mouth. It is considered that the results obtained in this study will provide guideline information for the manufacturing of impression materials and for selecting appropriate impression materials.

  • In this study, methyl methacrylate (MMA) - modified polymer mortar(MMPM) was developed and its setting shrinkage and working life properties were surveyed. In order to study the setting shrinkage, setting shrinkage test for the 24 batches were also conducted with taking the MMA monomer content to the UP resin and the mixed content of shrinkage reducing agent(SRA) as variables. Furthermore, in order to study the working life measured gel time, working time, setting time of MMPM and binder. Experimental resurts show that the workability remarkably improved as the mixed MMA content increased. The working life was proportional to MEKPO content and was shorted. also, showed high interrelationship of binder gel time and MMPM working life. Setting shrinkage markedly reduced as the content of MMA and the SRA increased.

기상측정 및 CAM 자동화를 통한 금형 제작 공정 개선 (Improvement of machining process for mold parts using on-machine measuring system and CAM automation)

  • In the CNC machining process, problems such as lowering of machine operation rate, setting errors, and machining precision occur due to the increase in setting time and preparation time. These machining errors cause delays in delivery and increase in cost due to an increase in the number of mounting and dismounting of the workpiece, an increase in measurement and reprocessing time, and an increase in the finishing time in the assembly process. Therefore, in this study, by automating the setting of the work piece using OMV (On Machine Verification), which is a meteorological measurement system, the preparation time for machining the work piece and the setting accuracy were improved, the rework rate was reduced, and the mold manufacturing process was shortened. Through the advancement, standardzation, and automation of the mold part manufacturing process, we have improved productivity by minimizing low-value-added repetitive tasks. In addition, the measurement time was reduced by more than 50% and the machining measurement rate was improved by more than 20%, eliminating repetitive work for correcting machining defects, and reducing the work preparation time by more than 15% through automatic setting.

Durometer를 이용한 고유동 콘크리트의 응결시간 판정 방법 (Estimation of the Setting Time of the High Flowing Concrete Using Durometer)

  • 본 연구는 고무경도계인 Durometer를 사용하여 콘크리트의 표면마감 작업시간 결정과 관련있는 응결시간을 판정하는 방법에 대하여 제안하고자 하였다. 연구의 결과로 Durometer 사용시 모르타르와 콘크리트의 두가지 요소 모두에서 Proctor 관입저항기와 높은 상관성이 있는 것으로 분석되어 Durometer를 사용한다면 콘크리트의 과학적이고 정량적인 응결시간을 확인 할수 있을 것이라 판단된다. 따라서 Durometer C 타입의 경우는 초결 측정으로 40 HD로 하여 마감작업 가능 시간결정에, D 타입의 경우는 10 HD로 하여 종결시간 측정으로 마감작업의 한계시간, 양생개시 시간 확인 등에 유용하게 활용될 수 있는 것으로 판단된다.

  • As part of the study on the development of the setting time estimation system, this study attempted to confirm the change in hardness values for each influencing factor variable and secure its reliability. According to the research results of this paper, the hardness value of the setting time estimation system tended to gradually decrease in the case of the hardness value of the closing time by curing temperature, and the hardness value increased in the concrete state compared to mortar. Therefore, further research on influencing factors will be conducted in consideration of material and statistical factors in the future.

  • This paper reports the relation of concrete setting characteristic and lateral pressure in mass concrete wall such as side wall of LNG underground storage tank. In order to estimate the lateral pressure, initial setting time of low heat cement concrete with type of mineral admixture was measured for three concrete mixtures(W/P=41.6%) containing limestone powder, fly ash, and slag powder. As a result, the lateral pressure of the concrete containing limestone powder was the smallest than those of other concretes as well as the initial setting time.
