송신 다이버시티를 가진 OFDM 시스템에서 삼각다항식 근사화를 이용한 채널 추정 기법의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Channel Estimation using Trigonometric Polynomial Approximation in OFDM Systems with Transmit Diversity)

  • 시공간 부호(space-time coding)는 무선통신 시스템의 성능 개선을 위한 효율적인 송신 다이버시티를 위해 설계된 부호화 방식이다. 이러한 시공간 부호를 이용한 송신 다이버시티의 경우 수신기에서는 각 송신 안테나에 대응되는 채널을 추정하는 것이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시공간 부호를 이용하는 OFDM 시스템에서 삼각다항식에 기반한 채널 추정 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 채널 추정 방법은 주어진 채널의 지연확산에 대해 기존의 방법 보다 계산의 복잡도 면에서 효율적이다 즉, QAM 변조방식의 경우 FFT 크기가 128일 때, 기존의 방법은 significant tap caching으로 J=7을 고려하면 TU, HT, BV 채널 각각에 대해 요구되는 복소곱의 수는 9852로 동일한 반면에 제안한 방법은 TU, HT, BU 채널 각각에 대해 2560, 7680, 3584의 복소곱을 요구한다. 제안한 방법은 최대 지연 확산이 작을수록 BER 성능과 계산의 복잡도의 개선을 동시에 가져온다. 부가적으로 채널의 지연 확산을 정확히 알지 못하는 경우에 대해 최대 지연 확산 추정을 위한 방법의 성능을 분석한다. 채널 추정 기법의 성능은 다양한 무선 채널에 대해 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의해 BER을 통해 분석한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 방법에 의해 추정된 시간 지연의 차를 이용하여 표적의 위치를 추적하는 방법을 제시한다. 표적 위치를 추정하는 알고리즘의 전단에서 시간 지연의 차를 보정하는 과정을 수행하고, 후단에서 칼만 필터로 smoothing을 하는 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법을 사용하여 최소 2N-2개의 시간 지연 차를 이용하여 표적의 위치를 보다 정확히 추적할 수 있다.

  • An improved stationary frame-based digital current control technique for a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor is presented. Generally, the stationary frame current controller is known to provide the advantage of a simple implementation. However, there are some unavoidable limitations such as a steady-state error and a phase delay in the steady-state. On the other hand, in the synchronous frame current regulator, the regulated currents are dc quantities and a zero steady-state error can be obtained through the integral control. However, the need to transform the signals between the stationary and synchronous frames makes the implementation of a synchronous frame regulator complex. Although the PI controller in the stationary frame gives a steady-state error and a phase delay, the control performance can be greatly improved by employing the exact decoupling control inputs for the back EMF, resulting in an ideal steady-state control characteristics irrespective of an operating condition as in the synchronous PI decoupling controller. However, its steady-state response may be degraded due to the inexact cancellation inputs under the parameter variations. To improve the control performance in the stationary frame, the disturbance is estimated using the time delay control. The proposed scheme is implemented on a PM synchronous motor using DSP TMS320C31 and the effectiveness is verified through the comparative simulations and experiments.

A Data Fusion Algorithm of the Nonlinear System Based on Filtering Step By Step

  • This paper proposes a data fusion algorithm of nonlinear multi sensor dynamic systems of synchronous sampling based on filtering step by step. Firstly, the object state variable at the next time index can be predicted by the previous global information with the systems, then the predicted estimation can be updated in turn by use of the extended Kalman filter when all of the observations aiming at the target state variable arrive. Finally a fusion estimation of the object state variable is obtained based on the system global information. Synchronously, we formulate the new algorithm and compare its performances with those of the traditional nonlinear centralized and distributed data fusion algorithms by the indexes that include the computational complexity, data communicational burden, time delay and estimation accuracy, etc.. These compared results indicate that the performance from the new algorithm is superior to the performances from the two traditional nonlinear data fusion algorithms.

  • This paper presents different issues of the real-time compression algorithms without compromising the video quality in the distributed environment. The theme of this research is to manage the critical processing stages (speed, information lost, redundancy, distortion) having better encoded ratio, without the fluctuation of quantization scale by using IP configuration. In this paper, different techniques such as distortion measure with searching method cover the block phenomenon with motion estimation process while passing technique and floating measurement is configured by discrete cosine transform (DCT) to reduce computational complexity which is implemented in this video codec. While delay of bits in encoded buffer side especially in real-time state is being controlled to produce the video with high quality and maintenance a low buffering delay. Our results show the performance accuracy gain with better achievement in all the above processes in an encouraging mode.

  • The aim of the work described in this paper is to develop a complex underground acoustic system which detects and locates the origin of an underground hammering sound using an array of six hydrophones located about 100m underground. Two different methods for the sound localization will be presented, a time-delay method and a power-attenuation method. In the time-delay method, the cross correlation of the signals received from the array of sensor sis used to calculate the time delays between those signals. In the power-attenuation method, the powers of the received signals provide a measure f the distances of the source from the sensors.

  • The effectiveness of software error compensation for thermally induced machine tool errors relies on the prediction accuracy of the pre-established thermal error models. The selection of optimal sensor locations is the most important in establishing these empirical models. In this paper, a methodology for the selection of optimal sensor locations is proposed to establish a robust linear model which is not subjected to collinearity. Correlation coefficient and time delay are used as thermal parameters for optimal sensor location. Firstly, thermal deformation and temperatures are measured with machine tools being excited by sinusoidal heat input. And then, after correlation coefficient and time delays are calculated from the measured data, the optimal sensor location is selected through hard c-means clustering and sequential selection method. The validity of the proposed methodology is verified through the estimation of thermal expansion along Z-axis by spindle rotation.

  • OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) 방식을 기반으로 하는 M-WiMAX(Mobile-Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) 시스템의 상향링크에서는 여러 사용자들이 전송하는 각각의 신호가 서로 다른 지연시간으로 인해 한 OFDMA 심볼 내에 선형적인 위상 성분이 발생하고, 이 위상 성분들이 합성되어 다중 접속 간섭 (Multiple Access Interference : MAI) 으로 기지국에서의 레인징 코드 검출 및 지연시간 추정 성능을 열화 시키는 원인이 된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 각 사용자에 의해 발생되는 MAI 를 최소화하고, 레인징 코드 검출 및 지연시간 추정 성능을 향상시키기 위해 기존의 방법에 직렬 간섭 제거(Successive Interference Cancellation : SIC) 를 적용한 레인징 기법을 제안한다. 모의 실험을 통해 기존의 방법보다 향상된 성능을 보였으며, 3GPP LTE 의 랜덤 액세스와의 비교를 통해 M-WiMAX 의 레인징 성능 한계를 확인하였다.
