Assessing Phosphorus Availability in a High pH, Biochar Amended Soil under Inorganic and Organic Fertilization

  • Phosphorous remains as one of the most limiting nutrients to plant growth, second only to nitrogen. Research on use of biochar as a soil amendment for available phosphorus in temperate calcareous soils has limited studies compared with to tropical acidic soils. An incubation experiment to assess phosphorous availability in a biochar amended calcareous soil under inorganic (Fused superphosphate, FSP) and organic fertilizer (bone meal, BM) and respectively, at the dose of 40, 80 and $120mg\;P\;kg^{-1}$ was carried out. Soil was incubated at $25^{\circ}C$ for 70 days. Results show that the rate of increase in available P was proportional to the fertilizer application rate with or without biochar amendment. Biochar did not have a significant effect on soils amended with either fertilizeron the values of available P. However, time had a significant effect (p<0.001) on the amount of available P during the incubation period. Inorganic fertilizer treatments had recorded high amount of available P with time compared to organic fertilizer treatments. Organic fertilizer treatment sample were significantly not different from control and for most of the incubation time biochar acted as a soil conditioner. Further research is required to understand the holistic and long-term effect of biochar.

Experimental investigation on stern-boat deployment system and operability for Korean coast guard ship

  • The stern boat deployment system was investigated to evaluate the capability of launching and recovering rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) via the stern ramp. The main parameters to launch and recover RHIB were tested at the design stage. The combined hydrodynamic effect of the stern wake and the water jet flow made it difficult to maintain the maneuvering and sea-keeping ability of RHIB approaching to the stern ramp. The safe recovery course was proposed to maintain the directional control of RHIB and to reduce the combined hydrodynamic effect in the transom zone. To evaluate the feasibility of RHIB recovery, the stern sill depth was measured in various conditions and the ramp availability time was obtained. Also, the experimental percent time operability (PTO) test was performed by the number of successive launching and recovering operations.

유연근무제도가 기혼여성의 일-가정 갈등 및 촉진, 직무만족에 미치는 영향: 패널분석 방법을 이용하여 (The effects of flexible work arrangements on work-family conflict and facilitation, and job satisfaction for married working women: A longitudinal analysis)

  • This study analyzes the effects of the three types of flexible work arrangements (part-time, flexitime, and reduced working hours for childcare) available in Korea on work-family conflict, facilitation, and job satisfaction for married working women ages 15-49. The study employs a panel analysis based on the first to the fourth data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women & Families (KLoWF). The major results are as follows. First, the availability of part-time jobs and reduced working hours to facilitate childcare is significantly related to work-family conflict for married women. If a married woman is employed in a part-time position or if reduced working hours for childcare are available, the conflict within the family caused by the job is reduced. Second, none of the three types of flexible work arrangements have a statistically significant influence on work-family facilitation for married women. Third, the availability of reduced working hours for childcare has a positive effect on the job satisfaction of married women. In conclusion, flexible working hours for women who are raising children are the main factor in reducing the negative effect of a job on a woman's family life as they contribute to work and family compatibility.

통과 우선순위가 있는 선로의 최대 흐름문제 (Maximal-Flow-Problem with transit priority in a track)

  • This paper treats the problem to schedule for train with low transit priority so as to maximizing the number that can be sent during given time without interfering with the fixed schedule for train with high transit priority in a track. We transform the this problem into Time-Expanded Network without traverse time through application of Ford-Fulkerson Model, develop a TENET GENerator(TENETGEN) and obtain the data of TENET using developed TENETGEN. Finally, we seek the optimal solution to these data with Dinic's Maximal-Flow Algorithm and examine the availability of our procedures in personal computer.

차세대 차량 네트워크를 위한 HSR (High-availability seamless Redundancy) 프로토콜 적용 연구 (High-availability Seamless Redundancy(HSR) Protocol for Automobile Networks)

  • Ethernet 기반 차량 네트워크 구성 시 신뢰성은 요구조건 중 하나이다. 이를 위해 차량 네트워크 구조에 High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) protocol (IEC 62439-3 clause 5)를 사용할 수 있다. HSR 프로토콜은 프레임을 전송할 때 서로 다른 경로에 각각의 복제된 프레임들을 제공한다. 이는 전송 오류로 인해 하나의 경로에서 프레임을 전송받지 못하더라도 목적지 노드는 다른 경로를 통해 적어도 하나의 프레임을 받을 수 있어 네트워크의 고장 발생 시에도 네트워크의 중단이 없음을 의미한다. 고장 발생 시에도 목적지 노드는 Zero-recovery time으로 하나의 프레임을 받을 수 있기 때문에 표준 Ethernet 과는 달리 보낸 프레임의 손실시 네트워크를 재구성하는 시간이 필요 없다. 하지만 HSR 프로토콜은 복제 전송하는 프레임으로 인해 불필요한 트래픽을 발생시키는 단점이 있다. 이에 HSR 프로토콜의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 QR, VRing, RURT, DVP와 같은 방법들이 이미 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 차량 네트워크에 HSR 프로토콜을 적용한 3가지 구조를 제안하였고 여기에 트래픽 향상을 위해 QR, VRing을 적용하였으며 이 구조들의 트래픽 성능을 측정 및 비교하였다. QR과 VRing을 적용할 때 표준 HSR 프로토콜에 비해 48-75%의 트래픽 감소를 보여주었다. 이는 차량에서 신뢰성 향상을 위해 HSR 프로토콜은 Ethernet을 대신하여 사용할 수 있음을 의미한다.

패션 제품 소셜 라이브 스트리밍 서비스(SLSS)의 인지적 공유를 통한 서비스품질 지각과 구매경험의 조절효과 (Perceived Service Quality through Cognitive Communion of Social Live Streaming Service (SLSS) of Fashion Product and Moderating Effect of Purchasing Experience)

  • Consumers' shopping experience has recently expanded to mobile and social networks; in addition, online fashion retailers started to focus on real-time interaction services as an emerging marketing tool. This study explores the consumer' shopping experience based on social live streaming services (SLSS) to investigate consumer's response behavior and effects through perceived service quality. An online survey method was conducted and a total of 186 female consumer panels were collected. The results indicate that cognitive communion of co-experience had a significant effect on perceived SLSS service quality (responsiveness, contents informativeness, playfulness, system availability). Service quality of SLSS (responsiveness, contents informativeness, and playfulness) had significant effect on trust in SLSS seller while system availability had no significant effect. Also, trust in seller showed significant effect on purchase intention. Last, it was confirmed that the moderating effect of purchasing experience of SLSS was significant in the relationship between cognitive communion and responsiveness/playfulness. There was also an additional significant moderating effect of purchasing experience between system availability and trust in seller.

시스템 가용도를 고려한 수리부품의 재고수준 최적화 (Optimization for Inventory Level of Spare Parts Considering System Availability)

  • In almost all of the organizations, the cost for acquiring and maintaining the inventory takes a considerable portion of the management budget, and thus a certain constraint is set upon the budget itself. The previous studies on inventory control for each item that aimed to improve the fill rate, backorder, and the expenditure on inventory are fitting for the commercially-operated SCM, but show some discrepancies when they are applied to the spare parts for repairing disabled systems. Therefore, many studies on systematic approach concept considering spare parts of various kinds simultaneously have been conducted to achieve effective performance for the inventory control at a lower cost, and primarily, METRIC series models can be named. However, the past studies were limited when dealing with the probability distributions for representing the situation on demand and transportation of the parts, with the (S-1, S) inventory control policy, and so on. To address these shortcomings, the Continuous Time Markov Chain (CTMC) model, which considers the phase-type distributions and the (s, Q) inventory control policies to best describe the real-world situations inclusively, is presented in this study. Additionally, by considering the cost versus the system availability, the optimization of the inventory level, based on this model, is also covered.

  • 침입감내 기술은 기존의 정보보호 기술이 방어하지 못하는 공격들이 있는 상황에서 일정 시간 동안 일정 수준의 서비스 품질을 유지시키기 위해 사용되는 기술을 일컫는 말이다. 침입감내 기술을 통해서, 서비스 혹은 이를 제공하는 시스템의 가용성 및 신뢰성을 높여 줄 수 있고, 공격으로 인한 피해를 줄일 수 있게 된다. 침입감내 기술의 핵심 기술 중 하나가 그룹관리 프로토콜 (GMP : Group Management Protocol) 및 투표 기능(Voting) 이다. 본 논문은 이 두 요소기술이 갖는 신뢰성을 수학적으로 검증하고 또한, 시뮬레이션을 통한 검증을 수행하였다. 이러한 분석이 갖는 의미는, 분석 결과를 활용한 보안 정책을 만들 수 있다는 것과, 다수개의 시스템의 결과를 기반으로 의사결정을 해야 하는 경우에 어떠한 분석 절차를 가져야 하는 지에 대한 방법론을 제시한다는 것이다.

Cloud Attack Detection with Intelligent Rules

  • Cloud is the latest buzz word in the internet community among developers, consumers and security researchers. There have been many attacks on the cloud in the recent past where the services got interrupted and consumer privacy has been compromised. Denial of Service (DoS) attacks effect the service availability to the genuine user. Customers are paying to use the cloud, so enhancing the availability of services is a paramount task for the service provider. In the presence of DoS attacks, the availability is reduced drastically. Such attacks must be detected and prevented as early as possible and the power of computational approaches can be used to do so. In the literature, machine learning techniques have been used to detect the presence of attacks. In this paper, a novel approach is proposed, where intelligent rule based feature selection and classification are performed for DoS attack detection in the cloud. The performance of the proposed system has been evaluated on an experimental cloud set up with real time DoS tools. It was observed that the proposed system achieved an accuracy of 98.46% on the experimental data for 10,000 instances with 10 fold cross-validation. By using this methodology, the service providers will be able to provide a more secure cloud environment to the customers.

  • Web technology is evolving with the passage of time, from a single node server to high availability and then in the form of Kubernetes. In recent years, the research community have been trying to provide high availability in the form of multi master cluster with a solid election algorithm. This is helpful in increasing the resources in the form of pods inside the worker node. There are new impact of known DDoS attack, which is utilizing the resources at its peak, known as Yoyo attack. It is kind of burst attack that can utilize CPU and memory to its limit and provide legit visitors with a bad experience. In this research, we tried to mitigate the Yoyo attack by introducing a firewall at load-balancer level to prevent the attack from going to the cluster network.
