  • The results of study of the parasites of rockfishes, Sebastes spp. collected at Oregon coast aquarium during April 6 to June 30, 2002 are presented. Six species of parasites were recovered from examination of 19 rockfishes with an incidence of infection of 42.1 %. This study investigated parasitic infestation of 7 black rock-fish, Sebastes melanops ; 3 quillback rockfish, S. maliger ; 2 yellowtail rockfish, S. flavidus ; 3 canary rockfish, S. pinniger 2 yelloweye rockfish, S. ruberrimus ; 2 tiger rockfish, S. nigrocinctus. Sebastes spp. from aquarium were found to be infested with parasites: Mycrocotyle sebastis, Megalocotyle trituba, Clavella uncinata, Anisakis simplex larvae, Contracaecum sp. larvae, Pseudoterranova decipiens larvae. Prevalence and mean intensity of rockfishes were infected respectively as follows: 21.1%, 4.0 of M. sebastis, 10.5%, 55.5 of M. trituba, 21.1%, 34.3 of A. simplex larvae, 10.5%, 15.0 of Contracaecum sp. larvae, 10.5%, 8.5 of Pseudoterranova decipiens larvae and 10.5%, 5.0 of Clavella uncinata. This study reveled that gills and gastrointestinal tracts of S. pinniger were heavily infested with M. trituba and A. simplex larvae.

  • The aim of this study was to survey 'voice preference' of children from among three voice pitches, which are high-pitch, mid-pitch and low pitch, and understand acoustic characteristics of the best voice chosen. To record distinctive pitches, Dr. Speech(ver. 4.0 Tiger Electronics) was used and we analyzed their choices. Also, we measured subglottal air pressure in aerodynamic analyze and phonatory aerodynamic system(Model 6600, KAY) was used. As a result children preferred to the low-pitch yet there was not any difference by sex. We fined them to prefer higher HNR voice to lower jitter and shimmer voice rate.

  • The author has proposed and verified the accuracy through experiments on a method of measurement through the use of sound waves that not only can quantitatively measure each of the dual directions of the fiber axis with high accuracy of membrane tension created on the surface of the membrane structure, but also can be easily operated in the field of construction. This paper reports the solution for problems of variables caused in the process of downsizing of the measurement equipment in order for practical use, and verifies the correspondence possibility of various stress ratios.

  • The objective of the paper is to recommend a database format of geographic informa¬tion systems for transportation (GIS-T) based on a review of geographic data files (GDF), a European standard format for navigation and the topologically integrated geographic encoding and referenc¬ing files (TIGER) if the USA The establishment of the standard format for transportation database is important for sharing data since data collection is costly. We believe the recommended format would reduce the implementation costs for GIS-T in Korea in the future.

  • This purpose of the present study was to determine the effects of yawn-sigh technique in voice quality of a cleft palate child. A 9-year old cleft palate child participated in the study 3 times a week for a month. The assessments were done by Dr. Speech (Version 4.0, Tiger DRS) on $F_{0}$, jitter, shimmer and NNE. The results showed that there was a tendency that the voice improved in terms of NNE. However, it did not reach a statistical significance.

  • This study has investigated the basic data of untrained boys and girls' VRP. The VRP comparison was executed between 5 boys(lO to 11 years old) and girls(10 to 11 years old). The measure of VRP was implemented by using Dr. Speech 4.0(Tiger-electronics) phonetogram program. The comparison of boys and girls' maximum and minimum range, the mean of boys' maximum range is 93.68dB(SD 7.90) and girls' range is 93.12dB(SD 5.11). There was no difference and the mean of minimum range of boy is 68.08dB(SD 3.59), girl is 71.10dB(SD 3.06).

  • The effect of proline, glutamine, aspartic acid and their combinations on callus induction and embriogenic callus formation from 3 creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris) cv. Regent, Mariner, Cato and 1 colonial bentgrass (Agrostis tenuis) cv. Tiger was estimated in both light and dark condition. The addition of amino acids to the growth medium did not have a significant stimulatory effect on the induction of embryogenic callus, instead, they were inhibitory, particularly at higher concentration (40 mM). But supplement of amino acids at lower concentrations (5 or 10mM) to basal medium was beneficial in inhibiting the formation of hairy outgrowth on the surface of embryogenic callus.

  • In this study the characteristics of Korean furs and peltry were discussed in the terms of usage and kinds from the literature survey of the relevant references, The following con-clusions were deduced. From Ancient to Koryo a kind of acient of Korea a lot of furs and peltry were produced and dressed. The leopad of Gochosun Korea was worthy of gold as an expensive goods to China. red dyed pelt of Silla Korea was traded with China and that pelt dyeing tech-nology of that pelt developed. The marten of Koryo was trade to Arabia and an otter skin to Kum Dynasty as loved goods. Korean furs and peltry made a reputation and were used for trading goods with China Japan and Arabia. Tratment technology in Korea became known to foreign country. There is another record that sheep and camels were offered to Koryo by around countries, And that Koryo employed men of Kum Dynasty as a shepherd. From ancient to Koryo Korea had had many kinds of furs of peltry as using goods such as leopard mart otter skin panther bear, manchurian wapili, fox, porpoise rat, mankey, horse, pig, wild bear, goat, cow, cat, dog, tiger, deer, raccoon dog and so on.
