  • In this paper, we simulated transient-state under fault in stator windings of synchronous generator. The fault types are line to ground fault, line to line short fault, and three phase short fault. For fault analysis of generator system, the voltage equation of a synchronous machine using the two-axis theory was used. It can be used to analyze important features of faults and to develop enhanced protection methods.

  • This paper presents a diagnosis method for the detection and location of open-short switch faults in the three-phase power conditioning system. A method for switch fault diagnosis on the power conditioning system is proposed, based on the concordia transform. The switch fault types and locations on power conditioning system are diagnosed by a method in which analyze the d-q current vector locus and current pattern. The Simulation results confirm the proposed diagnostic method.

  • In this work, the development of the diagnosis algorithm is carried out for identifying health and faulted conditions in three-phase induction motors. The algorithm consists of feature calculation, feature extraction, and feature classification procedures in sequence. Signals for this algorithm are acquired by current and flux sensors simultaneously, the latter is to measure the change of magnetic flux at the air-gap, This work proposes the efficient diagnosis method for induction motors by developing the powerful algorithm. The calculated features show a good linearity according to faults severities. Moreover. the final results show a good classification rate on motor conditions.

  • The technology of machine condition monitoring is used effectively to detect the machine faults at an early stage using different machine quantities, such as current, voltage, temperature and vibration. Induction motors are most widely used to drive pumps, compressors and fans in industrial drives. This paper presents approach to data fusion using Dempster-Shafer theory because only one technique has uncertainty. So we can obtain advanced accuracy of the machine fault diagnosis. Vibration and current quantities are applied to diagnose three-phase induction motor.

  • The motor current signature provides an important source of the information for the faults diagnosis of three-phase induction motor. The theoretical principles behind the generation of unique signal characteristics, which are indicative of failure mechanisms, are Presented. The fault detection techniques that can be used to diagnose mechanical Problems, stator and rotor winding failure mechanisms, and air-gap eccentricity are described. A theoretical analysis is presented which predicts the presence of unique signature patterns in the current that are only characteristics of the fault. The predictions are verified by experimental results from a special fault Producing test rig and on-site tests in a steel company. And this study have made new diagnostic algorithm for the operating induction motors with the test results. These developments are including the use of monitoring and analysis of electric current to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and gave the precise test results automatically.

  • This paper presents the performance analysis of a sliding mode based hybrid controller for three phase voltage source inverter. The main objective of this analysis is to observe the effectiveness of the controller for fault ride through (FRT) capability improvement of the distributed generations (DG). The performance of the conventional PI based cascaded controller is also presented for comparison purpose.

  • In this paper, in order to generator protection from a electrical fault was occurred while a generator is operated, principles of existing generator protection algorithm is examined and analyzed. and a new generator protection algorithm was developed. also, during a generator operation, Algorithm, an analysis for the basic principle of protective relay to general faults, was developed. This paper, generator was simple analyzed on the assumption that three-phase winding and observe the IEEE std.

  • Power transformer shall be designed and constructed to withstand the mechanical and thermal stresses produced by external short circuits which include three-phase, single line to ground, double line-to-ground, and line-to-line faults on any one set terminals at a time. This paper presents the method of short-circuit test and means of evaluation during and after each test to judge the results of short-circuit tests.

  • Recent trend of increasing automated factories needs supply of high quality power from the utilities. Among the items of the power quality, voltage sag can be compensated by Dynamic Voltage Restorer(DVR). The key feature of the DVR is high response with less transient period to recover from the voltage sag due to the lightning or line-to-ground faults. In this paper we report that H controller is very premising for the practical application to the controller of DVR. Experiment al results shown in this paper was obtained by applying the control algorithm to 20 kVA DVR system.   • This study introduces an analysis and control method for the variation of neutral point current in a grid-tied three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) converter under various grid imbalance operating conditions. Various fault cases with unbalanced amplitude and phase are systematically categorized and described using a unified metric called the imbalance factor. The fundamental component of neutral point current is generated under grid imbalance cases. The pattern and behavior of this fundamental component of neutral point current highly depend on the imbalance factor regardless of the particular type of grid fault cases. The control scheme for regulating the negative sequential component of AC input current effectively reduces the size of the fundamental component of neutral point current under a wide range of grid imbalance cases. The control scheme will enable a grid-tied three-level NPC converter to operate reliably and stably under various types of grid faults.
