The General Analysis of an Active Stereo Vision with Hand-Eye Calibration (핸드-아이 보정과 능동 스테레오 비젼의 일반적 해석)

  • The analysis of relative pose(position and rotation) between stereo cameras is very important to determine the solution that provides three-dimensional information for an arbitrary moving target with respect to robot-end. In the space of free camera-model, the rotational parameters act on non-linear factors acquiring a kinematical solution. In this paper the general solution of active stereo that gives a three-dimensional pose of moving object is presented. The focus is to achieve a derivation of linear equation between a robot′s end and active stereo cameras. The equation is consistently derived from the vector of quaternion space. The calibration of cameras is also derived in this space. Computer simulation and the results of error-sensitivity demonstrate the successful operation of the solution. The suggested solution can also be applied to the more complex real time tracking and quite general and are applicable in various stereo fields.

  • The latest urban planning is taking advantage of the city's spatiality, and its weight is increasing. The spatiality of the city extends to the three-dimensional air space, including the underground space and the surface space, and this is the relative location of land-use situations utilizing the characteristics of the feng shui geography. In this study, the urban planning of the Suwon Department and the construction process of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress were analyzed based on the feng shui geography, using the topography and geographical features of Paldal Mountain as the center of the data. Natural-friendly urban planning is required to adapt to natural laws and to preserve and share the ecosystem while harmonizing with the surrounding environment.

Origami Inspiration in Contemporary Fashion (현대 패션에 나타난 오리가미의 영향)

  • The paper-folding effect of origami signifies a planarization of the body which questions the three dimensional construction of the body in a more conventional clothing system. Un-structured, variable space posited between the body and clothes, and an absence of gender identification characterizes the planarization of the body. Origami inspiration in fashion stresses a will-to-form rather than mere bodily proportion and structure, which explores a trans-extensity that goes beyond the boundary of the body. This study inquires on the influence of origami as a method to create new vestmental space in contemporary fashion. The flat-plane clothes of origami-inspired design are no longer cut to the body and the clothes could be altered by the wearer. The space is introduced in between a three-dimensional dress-body and the body. Origami-inspired design in Japanese avant-garde fashion deconstructs the convention and promotes a symbiosis of body and clothing instead. The shape of the body is completely estranged by three-dimensional sculptures, alluding to the paper folds of origami and the movement of the body that are transmitted to the clothing through fine folding that transform into an unexpected event.

  • This paper describes the development of a racing game with three-dimensional computer graphics as one of web-based game contents. Client user using web can access and run java applet program with download of Java Bytecode with the independence of hardware system. It consists of graphic user interface module, initial space generation module, event handler module, and thread control module. It uses 2-D linked list data structure for the 3-D graphic objects that are located in three-dimensional space for high-speed object searching and sorting. It enhances the dynamic object moving and viewing in three-dimensional space. We can use the developed racing game to inform game users of information for an advertisement like tourism information, and can apply the proposed 3-D drawing technology to 3-D game graphic engine core.

Indoor environment recognition based on depth image (깊이 영상 기반 실내 공간 인식)

  • In this paper, we propose a method using an image received by the depth camera in order to separate the wall in a three-dimensional space indoor environment. Results of the paper may be used to provide valuable information on the three-dimensional space. For example, they may be used to recognize the indoor space, to detect adjacent objects, or to project a projector on the wall. The proposed method first detects a normal vector at each point by using the three dimensional coordinates of points. The normal vectors are then clustered into several groups according to similarity. The RANSAC algorithm is applied to separate out planes. The domain knowledge helps to determine the wall among planes in an indoor environment. This paper concludes with experimental results that show performance of the proposed method in various experimental environment.

A Study on Architectural Expressive Characteristic of 'Structure & Skin Integration' Type in Contemporary Architecture - Focused on the Architecture cases after 2000 - (현대건축에서 구조와 표피 일체화 유형의 건축적 표현특성 - 2000년 이후 건축 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This study tries to categorize trends of "structure and skin integration" and understand the expressive characters of each architectural type. To do so, we listed up 8 architects who are quoted twice or more in related researches, then analyzed their 25 contemporary buildings which integrated structure and skin since 2000. As a result, this study defined four types based on the way of building tectonic system of structure and skin. Key feature of "linear structure-two dimensional skin" type is the communication with the surroundings as a result of .geometric architectural forms, patterned surface and reflection. Characters of "linear-three dimensional" type are organic architectural forms, sculptural skin, and the mysterious space. "Planar-two dimensional" type is a transformational geometry form to express the dramatic images through the skin, therefore gives a sense of rhythm and dynamics to space. "Planar structure-three dimensional" type highlights the texture, and exposes boundary of the inside and outside. In architectures we studied, the structure is the way to make a creative forms and space, and the skin to express various meanings. That said, the "structure and skin integration" is the means of aggressive design expression.
