Purpose: To evaluate the knee joint after double-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with three-dimensional (3D) isotropic magnetic resonance (MR) image, and to directly compare the ACL graft findings on 3D MR with the clinical results. Materials and Methods: From January 2009 to December 2014, we retrospectively reviewed MRIs of 39 patients who had reconstructed ACL with double bundle technique. The subjects were examined using 3D isotropic proton-density sequence and routine two-dimensional (2D) sequence on 3.0T scanner. The MR images were qualitatively evaluated for the intraarticular curvature, graft tear, bony impingement, intraosseous tunnel cyst, and synovitis of anteromedial and posterolateral bundles (AMB, PLB). In addition anterior tibial translation, PCL angle, PCL ratio were quantitatively measured. KT arthrometric values were reviewed for anterior tibial translation as positive or negative. The second look arthroscopy results including tear and laxity were reviewed. Results: Significant correlations were found between an AMB tear on 3D-isotropic proton density MR images and arthroscopic proven AMB tear or laxity (P < 0.05). Also, a significant correlation was observed between increased PCL ratio on 3D isotropic MRI and the arthroscopic findings such as tear, laxities of grafts (P < 0.05). KT arthrometric results were found to be significantly correlated with AMB tears (P < 0.05) and tibial tunnel cysts (P < 0.05). Conclusion: An AMB tear on 3D-isotropic MRI was correlated with arthroscopic results qualitatively and quantitatively. 3D isotropic MRI findings can aid the evaluation of ACL grafts after double bundle reconstruction.

Dual-beam experiments (Focused ion beam - Orientation mapping microstructure, FIB-OIM) is a widely used experimental tool because this experiments tool available alternates between automated serial sectioning and EBSD with the help of dual beams. We investigated the reconstruction procedure for analysis tool which three-dimensional internal microstructure using Ni superalloy(IN100) and ZrO2. As a results, we observed annealing twin boundary each layer in Ni superalloy(IN100) and fairly isotropic internal microstructure in ZrO2 using marching cubes algorithm. According to these results, this procedure is reconstructed well and we gained ability to arrange the EBSD map and internal microstructure.
Many three-dimensional object modeling and display methods for computer graphics and computer vision have been developed. Recently, with the help of medical imaging devices such as computerized tomography, magnetic resonance image, etc., some of those object modeling and display methods have been widely used for capturing the shape, structure and other properties of real objects in many medical applications. In this paper, we propose the reconstruction and display method of the three-dimensional object from a series of the cross sectonal image. It is implemented by using the automatic threshold selection method and the contour following algorithm. The combination of curvature and distance, we select feature points. Those feature points are the candidates for the tiling method. As a results, it is proven that this proposed method is very effective and useful in the comprehension of the object's structure. Without the technician's responce, it can be automated.

In generally, the resolution of reconstructed three-dimensional images can be seriously degraded by undesired occlusions in the integral imaging system, because the undesired information of the occlusion overlap the three-dimensional images to be reconstructed. To solve the problem of the undesired occlusion, we present an exemplar-based image restoration method in integral imaging system. In the proposed method, a minimum spanning tree-based stereo matching method is used to remove the region of undesired occlusions in each elemental image. After that, the removed occlusion region of each elemental images are re-established by using the exemplar-based image restoration method. For further improve the performance of the image restoration, the structure tensor is used to solve the filling error cause by discontinuous structures. Finally, the resolution enhanced three-dimensional images are reconstructed by using the restored elemental images. The preliminary experiments are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
In this study, a practical holographic interferometric tomography system, which is instantaneous and non-contact for measuring three dimensional flow field, was developed. The system consists of holographic recording/reconstruction system, fringe analysis code and computational tomography code and it is developed with Gill environment for general users. The developed system was applied to three-dimensional natural convection from a discrete flush-mounted circular heat source on the bottom of a cubic enclosure. The heat source was located at the off-center of the bottom plate so that three-dimensional temperature field can be achieved. A set of multi-directional holographic interferograms was recorded by employing a double-reference beam, double-exposure holographic technique. Optical pathlength data were extracted from the recorded interferometric data and finally three dimensional temperature field inside the cube was reconstructed.
Three dimensional computed tomographic images were obtained in two cases with trauma. The first case of a 3 year-old male Maltese, with ataxia and head tilting due to head trauma was referred to veterinary medical teaching hospital, Seoul National University. Remarkable findings were not found on survey radiographs. With the help of three-dimensional reconstruction computed tomographic imaging, parietal and occipital bone fracture was identified. The second case of 4 month-old female Yorkshire terrier with left forelimb lameness was referred right after trauma. Survey radiography showed obvious incongruity of the elbow joint. Lateral and medial condyle of the left humerus fracture and lateral displacement of the left ulna were apparent in three-dimensional computed tomographic image. It was considered that three-dimensional computed tomography could be used as an aid modality for the exact evaluation of extends and degree of fracture as well as planning of orthopedic surgery.

We present an analysis on the quality factors of the Fourier hologram generated from multiple orthographic view images of three-dimensional object. In the analysis, we analyze both the maximum size of the reconstructed object and its spatial resolution. For the maximum size of the reconstruction, we found that the main factor is the orthographic projection angle interval. Too large projection angle interval causes overlapping in the reconstruction space domain. For the spatial resolution, there are three factors, i.e. the capturing lens array pitch which determines the spatial sampling rate of the original three-dimensional objects, the maximum orthographic projection angle, and the spatial frequency bandwidth of the object. The dominant factor is determined by the relationship between those three factors.
In head and neck reconstruction, microsurgeons are faced with various demands, such as thin resurfacing, or three-dimensional reconstruction, and therefore, conventional flap as well as perforator flaps are all useful for the functional and aesthetic reconstruction successfully. Among perforator flaps, the pros and cons of anterolateral thigh perforator flap(ALTp) and thoracodorsal perforator flap(TAp) is compared and selected depending on the surgeon's preference, recipient site condition or patient status. Both flaps can be elevated in a chimeric pattern by combining different aspects of tissue components. Customized or tailored reconstruction as well as 3 dimensional reconstructions are all available with perforator flaps and it is useful in head and neck reconstruction. The most outstanding update in head and neck reconstruction is the perforator based island flap (PBIF) compared to conventional flaps. The conventional local flap has evolved on behalf of the perforator concept and its design becomes more flexible and freestyle with less limitations. Actually, random pattern flap is now a misnomer and most conventional local flaps turn into PBIFs. Finally we can say all conventional donor site becomes universal, depending on the surgeons' preference or idea. Moreover, there is no more "flap of choice" and postoperative results are quite variable by surgeons' ability. Operative procedures and plans are very flexible to freestyle flap. With all these advantages, surgeons should be armed with both conventional and perforator concepts for solving any defects or problems.

A phase-shifting projection moire method particularly intended for high-speed three-dimensional shape reconstruction of diffuse objects is presented. Emphasis is on realization of phase-shifting fringe analysis in projection moire topography using a set of line grating pairs designed to provide different phase shifts in sequence. Further a time-integral fringe capturing scheme is devised to remove undesirable high frequency original grating patterns in real-time without time-consuming software image processing. Finally the performances of the proposed method are discussed with measurement results.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the spatial relationship of facial bone more accurately. For this study, the three-dimensional images of dry skull were reconstructed using computer image analysis system and three-dimensional reconstructive program involved CT. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Three-dimensional reconstructive CT results in images that have better resolution and more contrast 2. It showed good marginal images of anatomical structure on both three-dimensional CT and computer image analysis system, but the roof of orbit, the lacrimal bone and the squamous portion of temporal bone were hardly detectable. 3. The partial loss of image data were observed during the regeneration of saved image data on three-dimensional CT. 4. It saved the more time for reconstruction of three-dimensional images using computer image analysis system. But, the capacity of hardware was limited for inputting of image data and three-dimensional reconstructive process. 5. We could observe the spatial relationship between the region of interest and the surrounding structures by three-dimensional reconstructive images without invasive method.
