Astronomical observation is the beginning of scientific attitudes in the history of mankind. According to Indian tradition, there existed 18 early astronomical texts (siddhantas) composed by Surya, Pitamaha and many others. Varahamihira compiled five astronomical texts in a book named panchasiddhantika, which is now the link between early and later siddhantas. Indian scholars had no practice of writing their own names in their works, so, it is very difficult to identify them. Aryabhata is the first name noticed, in the book Aryabhatiya. After this point most astronomers and astro-writers wrote their names in their works. In this paper I have tried to analyze the works of astronomers like Aryabhata, Varahamihira, Brahmagupta, Bhaskara I, Vateswara, Sripati and Bhaskaracharya in a modern context and to obtain an account of Indian astronomical knowledge. Aryabhata is the first Indian astronomer who stated that the rising and setting of the Sun, the Moon and other heavenly bodies was due to the relative motion of the Earth caused by the rotation of the Earth about its own axis. He also estabished the 'yuga' theory (one Mahayuga = 432000 years). Varahamihira compiled panchasiddhantika and wrote Brihatsamhita. Brahmagupta is the most distinguished astronomer known to us. His two major works are i) Brahmasphutasiddhanta and ii) Khandkhadaka. Bhaskara I was the follower of Aryabhata. His three known works are Mahabhaskariya, Laghubhaskariya and Aryabhatiyabhasya. Vateswara follows Aryapaksha and Saurapaksha. His master work is Vateswarasiddhanta. Sripati, in his siddhantasekhara, gives the rules for determining the Moon's second inequality. Bhaskara II wrote the most comprehensive astronomical work in Indian astronomy. The result of these works is the account of the Indian astronomical heritage. These works are written in the Sanskrit language. A very few of these manuscripts have been translated in English but many are yet to be done. So, it is necessary to translate these astronomical texts into English with proper commentary for modern scholars. This paper will be helpful in this work.
The stereotactic radiosurgery using ionizing radiation of high energy is a technique for exadicating intracranial small tumors, which are inaccessible or unsuitable for open surgical technique. For such a small field radiosurgery. TLD or film dosimetry is essential. The three dimensional dose planning of radiosurgery was performed with dose planning computer system (Therac 2300). The target dose distribution and its error according to patient position were discussed. And were measured of circular cone which specially designed in our Hospital. The position error of Rando Phantom compared with CT were O.4mm in the AP-LAT section and in the AP-VERT section, 1.0mm in the AP-VERT $45^{\circ}$section. The ratio of accuracy of the gantry and couch rotation were 1.5mm diamteter for centeral axis of I8MeV linear accelerator. Our study suggested that radiosurgery of small field in our department will be appropriate for clinical application.
As wearable technology is becoming more common and a part of our lives, there have been many efforts to offer various smart services with wearable devices, such as motion recognition, safety of driving, and so on. In this paper, we present a method that exploits the 9-axis inertial sensors embedded in a smartwatch to identify whether the user is a vehicle driver or not and to estimate the steering wheel turning direction in the vehicle. The system consists of three components: (i) position recognition, (ii) driver recognition, and (iii) steering-wheel turning detection components. We have developed a prototype system for detecting user's motion with Arduino boards and IMU sensors. Our experiments show high accuracy in recognizing the driver and in estimating the wheel rotation angle. The average experimental error was $11.77^{\circ}$ which is small enough to perceiver the turning direction of steering-wheel.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of human motion and javelin kinematics during the energy transfer in javelin throwing on records, and to provide evidence-based training insights for athletes and coaches to enhance records. Method: Three javelin throw athletes (age: 22.67 ± 0.58 years, height: 178.33 ± 7.37 cm, weight: 83.67 ± 1.15 kg) were recruited for this study. Each athlete attempted ten maximum record trials, and the kinematic data from each performance were analyzed to determine their influence on the records. The Theia3d Markerless system was used for motion analysis. Results: Key factors were modeled and identified at each moment. In E1, main variables were COM Y (𝛽 8.162, p<.05) and COM velocity Z (𝛽 -72.489, p<.05); in E2, COM X (𝛽 -17.604, p<.05); in E3, COM X (𝛽 -18.606, p<.05), COM velocity Y (𝛽 38.694, p<.05), and COM velocity X (𝛽 66.323, p<.05). For the javelin throw dynamics in E3, key determinants were Attitude angle and Javelin velocity in the Y-axis. Conclusion: The study reveals that controlled vertical movement, center of mass management during braking, and enhanced pelvic rotation significantly improve javelin throw performance. These kinematic strategies are critical for record enhancement in javelin throwing.

Radiosurgery requires integral procedure where special devices and computer systems are needed for localization, dose planning and treatment. The aim of this work is to verify the overall mechanical accuracy of our LINAC and develop dose calculation algorithm for LINAC radiosurgery. The alignment of treatment machine and the performance testing of the entire system were extensively carried out and the basic data such as percent depth dose, off-axis ratio and output factor were measured. A three dimensional treatment planning system for stereotactic radiosurgery has been developed. We used an IBM personal computer with C programming language (IBM personal system/2, Model 80386, IBM Co., USA) for calculating the dose distribution. As a result, deviations at isocenter on gantry and table rotation for our treatment machine were acceptable since they were less than 2 mm. According to the phantom experiments, the focusing isocenter were successful by the error of less than 2 mm. Finally, the mechanical accuracy of our three dimensional planning system was confirmed by film dosimetry in sphere phantom.

The purpose of this study was to assess the loading distributing characteristics of implant prosthesis according to position and direction of load, under vertical and inclined loading using FEA analysis. The finite element model was designed according to standard fixture (4.1mm restorative component x 11.5mm length). The crown for mandibular first molar was made using UCLA abutment. Each three-dimensional finite element model was created with the physical properties of the implant and surrounding bone. This study simulated loads of 200N at the central fossa in a vertical direction (loading condition A), 200N at the outside point of the central fossa with resin filling into screw hole in a vertical direction (loading condition B), 200N at the centric usp in a $15^{\circ}$ inward oblique direction (loading condition C), 200N at the in a $30^{\circ}$ inward oblique direction (loading condition D) or 200N at the centric cusp in a $30^{\circ}$ outward oblique direction (loading condition E) individually. Von Mises stresses were recorded and compared in the supporting bone, fixture, and abutment screw. The following results have been made based on this study: 1. Stresses were concentrated mainly at the ridge crest around implant in both vertical and oblique loading but stresses in the cancellous bone were low in both vertical and oblique loading. 2. Bending moments resulting from non-axial loading of dental implants caused stress concentrations on cortical bone. The magnitude of the stress was greater with the oblique loading than with the vertical loading. 3. An offset of the vertical occlusal force in the buccolingual direction relative to the implant axis gave rise to increased bending of the implant. 4. The relative positions of the resultant line of force from occlusal contact and the center of rotation seems to be more important. 5. The magnitude of the stress in the supporting bone, fixture and abutment screw was greater with the outward oblique loading than with the inward oblique loading and was the greatest under loading at the centric cusp in a $30^{\circ}$ outward oblique direction. Conclusively, this study provides evidence that bending moments resulting from non-axial loading of dental implants caused stress concentrations on cortical bone. But it seems to be more important that how long is the distance from center of rotation of the implant itself to the resultant line of force from occlusal contact(leverage). The goal of improving implants should be to avoid bending of the implant.

The purpose of this study was to assess the loading distributing characteristics of implant prosthesis of internal connection system(ITI system) according to position and direction of load, under vertical and inclined loading using finite element analysis (FEA). The finite element model of a synOcta implant and a solid abutment with $8^{\circ}$ internal conical joint used by the ITI implant was constructed. The gold crown for mandibular first molar was made on solid abutment. Each three-dimensional finite element model was created with the physical properties of the implant and surrounding bone. This study simulated loads of 200N at the central fossa in a vertical direction (loading condition A), 200N at the outside point of the central fossa with resin filling into screw hole in a vertical direction (loading condition B), 200N at the centric cusp in a $15^{\circ}$ inward oblique direction (loading condition C), 200N at the in a $30^{\circ}$ inward oblique direction (loading condition D) or 200N at the centric cusp in a $30^{\circ}$ outward oblique direction (loading condition E) individually. So, the relative positions of the resultant line of force from occlusal contact and the center of rotation seems to be more important. 4. In this internal conical joint, vertical and oblique loads were resisted mainly by the implant-abutment joint at the screw level and by the implant collar. Conclusively, It seems to be more important that how long the distance is from center of rotation of the implant itself to the resultant line of force from occlusal contact (leverage). In a morse taper implant, vertical and oblique loads are resisted mainly by the implant-abutment joint at the screw level and by the implant collar. This type of implant-abutment connection can also distribute forces deeper within the implant and shield the retention screw from excessive loading. Lateral forces are transmitted directly to the walls of the implant and the implant abutment mating bevels, providing greater resistance to interface opening.

The characteristics of a helical turbine to be used for tidal stream energy conversion have been numerically studied with varying a few design parameters. The helical turbines were proposed aiming at mitgating the well known poor cut-in characteristics and the structural vibration caused by the fluctuating torque, and the basic concept is introducing some twisting angle of the vertical blade along the rotation axis of the turbine. Among many potential controling parameters, we focused, in this paper, on the twisting angle and the height to diameter ratio of the turbine, and, based on the numerical experiment, We tried to propose a configuration of such turbine for which better performance can be expected. The three-dimensional unsteady RANS equations were solved by using the commercial CFD software, FLUENT with k-${\omega}$ SST turbulence model, and the grid was generated by GAMBIT. It is shown that there are a range of the twisting angle producing better efficiency with less vibration and the minimum height to diameter ratio above which the efficiency does not improve considerably.
This study analysed student teachers' notable questions about the earth science contents in the elementary science textbooks. The contents of notable questions were defined as ‘notable question contents 1' and 'notable question contents 2'. Both the question contorts are contents about which the number of questions is above three times and from two times to three times as much as the mean number of questions per page of each unit respectively. The results are as follows. First, question contents 1 are found as 'clouds observation', 'geological strata formation' and so on. Question contents 2, 'rainfall measurement', 'moon's movement during one night' and so on are found. Second, the number of interrelationships of main terms in questions increased in each question of question contents 1, but 4 term-patterns are found more in question contents 2 than question contents 1. Third, high interrelationship patterns of terms in question contents 1 are 'coal and petroleum-generation', 'metamorphosis-heat and pressure', 'metamorphosis-heat and pressure-metamorphic rocks', 'planet-sun-comet-revolution' and in question contents 2. 'constellation plate-use', 'dryness and wetness hygrometer-principle', 'seismograph-principle-earthquake', 'earth rotation axis-tilting-occurrence', 'dryness and wetness hygrometer-principle-humidity' and so on. The sources of questions analysed in this study are estimated as the content construction system of textbooks, or students' general questions about the earth science contents. If this is the former, the problems in texts and illustrations in textbooks should be articulated and resolved. And if the latter, the elementary science curriculum has to be reconsidered in view of scientific literacy in earth science.

The sensitivity adjectives on wall paper are collected. With the collected sensitivity adjective, we are going to develop the model which can recommend the wallpaper to customer. A large number of adjectives describing affective responses were collected from such diverse sources as questionnaire survey results, field survey results and internet survey result. To search the representative adjective of collected adjective, we used the diverse statistical analysis method. We attempted to decide the axis name of dimension through the MDS(Multi-Dimensional Scale) analysis method using the similarity matrix an4 to find a three or four reduced factors through the factor analysis method using the varimax rotation method. The result of the analysis showed that the reduced factors could account about $82\%$ when the number of factor is three(popular, elegance, and passable) ant about $93\%$ when the number of factor is four (elegance, passable, beautiful, and affectionate) On the basis of this result, we expect it can be used to develop the model recommending the wallpaper.
