  • Three species of endosymbiotic dinoflagellates, zooxanthellae, are investigated from six host species of anthozoans from Korea. Three unrecorded endosymbionts species are Symbiodinium kawagutii, Symbiodinium microadriaticum, and Symbiodinium sp. Symbiodinium kawagutii Is associated with Alveopora japonica, Anthopleura japonica and Parasicyonis actinostoloides. Symbiodinium microadiraticum is found in Anthopleura kurogane and Parasicyonis sp. Unlike the former two symbionts, Symbiodinium sp. is associated with Anthopleura midori.

  • The epiphytic lichen communities were analysed in terms of cluster analysis on forty two stands and eight environmental variables in Mt. Duckyoo. Ordination of stand and species by principal component analysis (PCA) and sum of square algorithm (SSA) gave similar results. Species cluster showed three groups(I, II, III) and stand revealed three groups (A, B, C). Interaction of stand and species cluster was interpreted by analysis of concentration technique. The results indicated a significant cluster structure at the level of different environment variable.

  • A systematic study of the aleocharine tribe Falagriini in Korea is presented. Three species are recognized, all of which are recorded for the first time in Korea [Falagria sulcata (Paykull), Myrmecopora (Lamproxenusa) rufescens (Sharp), and Myrmecocephalus sapida (Sharp)]. A key is provided for separation of the known species of the Falagriini and photo-graphs of habitus are presented.
