3상 3-레벨 컨버터의 누설전류 저감과 NP 전류 제어를 위한 캐리어 기반 LFCPWM (Carrier Based LFCPWM for Leakage Current Reduction and NP Current Control in 3-Phase 3-Level Converter)

  • This study proposes a carrier-based pulse width modulation (PWM) method for leakage current reduction and neutral point (NP) current control in a three-phase three-level converter, which is a carrier-based PWM version of the previously proposed low-frequency common mode voltage PWM. Three groups of space vectors with the same common mode voltage are used. When the averaged NP current needs to be positive or negative, the specific groups are employed to produce low-frequency common mode voltages. The validity of the proposed PWM method is verified through experiments.

  • In this paper, a new control strategy to reduce switching losses in three-phase voltage-source PWM converters is proposed according to Modified-Period-Average-Model (MPAN). The basic concept of this strategy is aimed at calculating the phase control voltages for controlling the source currents to be sinusoidal and in phase with the source voltages, and reducing the number of switching in each period. The phase control voltages of Period-Average-Model(PAM) is obtained according to analyzing the operation of PWM converter. In order to reduce the sensitivity to system parameters in PAM, MPAM is deduced. Then a square wave whose frequency is three times of utility frequency is added to the phase control voltages derived from MPAM. The control strategy reduces the switching losses since there exists about one-third blanking time for every phase in one period. The theoretical derivation and the control strategy are experimentally verified on a 2.5 kW three-phase voltage source converter.

  • 본 논문에서는 불연속 변조 기법을 이용한 고속철도 추진제어장치용 단상 PWM 컨버터에 대해 연구하였다. 기존 PWM 컨버터는 대 전력 특성으로 인해 스위칭 손실을 줄이기 위해 주파수 변조지수를 10 이하로 낮게 사용함에 따라 제어의 대역폭이 감소하고, 안정적인 역률 제어를 위해 추가의 보상 기법을 필요로 하는 등의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 3상 PWM 인버터에서 사용하는 불연속 변조 기법을 단상 PWM 컨버터에 적용하였다. 제안한 방식은 옵셋 전압 기법을 활용하여 간단히 구현될 수 있으며 동일 스위칭 손실 대비 주파수 변조 지수를 2배 증가시켜 제어 특성을 향상시키고 스위치 간의 동특성도 동일하게 가져갈 수 있다. 100 kW급 PWM 컨버터에 대한 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안한 불연속 변조 기법에 대한 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper proposes a grid-tied power conditioning system for fuel cell, which consists of three-phase current-fed DC-DC converter and three-phase PWM inverter. The three-phase current-fed DC-DC converter boosts fuel cell voltage of 26-48 V up to 400 V with zero-voltage switching (ZVS) scheme, while the three-phase PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) inverter controls the active and reactive power supplied to the grid. The operation of the proposed power conditioning system with fuel cell model is verified through simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation is verified through experimental works with a laboratory prototype with 1.2 kW proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell stack. The proposed power conditioning system can be commercialized to interconnect the fuel cell with the power grid.

  • 본 논문은 전력변환 시스템의 제어 특성 개선을 위해 전향제어를 갖는 다변수 상태궤환제어를 제시하였다. 이론의 적용대상은 3상 전압형 PWM 컨버터 및 인버터 그리고 3상 전류형 PWM 컨버터 및 인버터 시스템이며, 이들의 등가회로 및 모델링이 유도되고 해석되었다. 다양한 시뮬레이션에 의해 제시된 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper proposes the battery charging algorithm for small-scale wind power generator using three phase PWM converter. it is impossible to control output power of the converter in over wind speed region since back EMF of PMSG is higer than battery voltage. Therefore, battery charging algorithm is proposed to expand battery charging over wind speed region. The suggested method is using the q-axis current for battery charging in the rated wind speed region. In the over wind speed region after it lower back EMF of PMSG using d-axis current it can control output power of the converter. The validity of the proposed algorithm are verified by experiments.

  • In this paper, comparative analysis of offset voltage PWM method and $V_{max}-V_{mid}$ PWM method for three-phase matrix converter is addressed by using a simple analytical and graphical method. Offset voltage PWM method calculates PWM patterns in terms of offset voltage and variable slope of carrier, and it simplifies matrix converter modulation algorithm significantly. $V_{max}-V_{mid}$ PWM method generates patterns by using two phases and maintaining a remaining phase to base phase, and it is implemented in the industrial products. The most important performance criterion of modulation method is a magnitude of current ripples and it is analytically modelled. The graphical illustration of theses complex multivariable functions make per-carrier cycle and per fundamental cycle behavior of two PWM methods understood. Two modulation methods are analysed with the analytical formulas and graphics, and the analysis shows offset voltage PWM method is superior to $V_{max}-V_{mid}$ PWM method with respect to input current ripples and output voltage ripples.

Advanced Control of a PWM Converter with a Variable-Speed Induction Generator

  • This paper describes simple control structures for a vector controlled stand-alone induction generator (IG) for use under variable speeds. Different control principles, indirect vector control and deadbeat current control, are developed for a voltage source PWM converter and the three-phase variable speed squirrel-cage IG to regulate DC-link and generator voltages with a newly designed phase locked loop circuit. The required reactive power for the variable speed IG is supplied by means of a PWM converter and a capacitor bank to buildup the voltage of the IG without the need for a battery, to reduce the rating of the PWM converter while using only three sensors and to eliminate the harmonics generated by the PWM converter. These proposed schemes can be used efficiently for variable speed wind energy conversion systems. The measurements of the IG systems at various speeds and loads are given and show that these systems are capable of good AC and DC voltage regulation.

  • 본 논문은 단상 반파 PWM 정류기와 3상 2-leg 인버터를 결합한 단상-삼상 컨버터 회로에서 전원전압의 센서를 제거하여 3상 유도전동기를 저가형으로 구동하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 전원전압의 센서를 제거하기 위해 전원 전류의 실측치와 제어기 내의 모델전류가 일치하도록 관측기를 구성하여 전원전압을 추정한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기법을 사용할 경우 스위칭 소자와 센서 수를 줄이면서 직류전압 일정제어, 입력전류의 정현제어 및 단위 역률 제어가 가능하고 VVVF 교류전압을 얻을 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 3[Hp]의 3상 유도전동기의 V/f 구동에 적용한 실험결과로 제시된 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • 본 논문은 전압형 PWM컨버터를 이용한 3상 능동전력 필터에 관해 연구하였다. 능동 필터는 6-펄스정류기의 입력측에 나타나는 고조파를 제거함과 동시에 무효전력을 보상하며, 3상 PMW인버터와 커패시티로 구성된다. 보상전류를 가급젓 현존하는 전류에 가깝게 발생시키고 필터의 속응성을 개선하고자 히스테리시스 제어기법을 사용하였고 이에 관한 제어회로는 간단히 구성될 수 있다. 그결과 교류입력측 전류는 정현파로 보상되고 역율 또한 거의 1로 개선할 수 있었다.
