In this paper, we try to define and classify the concepts of Convergent Research of Korean-Western Medicine (CRKWM) to clarify the goals of research. In addition, some suggestions that are necessary to promote the CRKWM were made. The results are as follows. First, the CRKWM should be used as a concept that refers to 'interdisciplinary research' jointly conducted by experts in both Korean and Western medicines beyond their own fields. Second, True CRKWM is an "eclectic combination of East-West" that combines the advantages of traditional Korean medicine and western medicine to create a new field; it is necessary to redefine the concept of 'Integrative medicine', which is used in different context by the traditional Korean medicine and western fields in Korea, as an "eclectic combination of East-West" type. Third, In order to promote the CRKWM, it is necessary to convert the current dual medical system of relativism to one of pluralism. Forth, In order for CRKWM to be promoted, methodologies, theories, and models that become the backbones of convergence should be developed. As of now, systems medicine and network science are the best fit. Fifthly, In order to promote convergent clinical research, the development of Korean-Western diagnostic model that integrates the pathologies of Western medicine and symptoms of Korean medicine is urgent. Lastly, Mutual understanding between Korean and Western medicine fields should be preceded in order for CRKWM to be stimulated.

Objectives : This paper aims to study the characteristics of zhongfeng treatment by examining the eight principles of zhongfeng treatment in the Zhongfeng Jiaoquan of Zhang Shanlei along with Zhang Bolong's treatment of 'Yangxu Leizhongfeng[Yang deficiency pseudo Wind damage]' which is missing from the eight principles. Methods : The treatment methods in the Zhongfeng Jiaoquan was organized in the order of cause, characteristic, symptom, treatment, and precautions, in order to analyze features that were emphasized by Zhang in zhongfeng treatment. Results : First, treatment for bizheng is to 'open and close', then apply methods of 'qianyang jiangqi(潛陽降氣)' and 'zhenni huatan(鎭逆化痰)' while that for tuozheng is to 'lianyin yiye(戀陰益液)' accompanied by medicinals that 'qianzhen xutang(潛鎭虛陽)'. Second, treatment for ganyang shangnizheng is to 'qianzhen rougan', while for tanzian yongsezheng, one must 'dangdi(蕩滌)' for those who are strong in qi, 'xiehua(泄化)' for those who are weak in qi, while for those who have qinizheng[qi reverse syndrome] to 'shunqi(順氣).' Third, for deficiency in xinye and ganyin, one must 'yuyin yangxue[育陰養血]', while for deficiency in shenyin, one must first 'qianjiang shena[潛降攝納]' then slowly apply the method of 'ziyang shenyin[滋養腎陰]' if there is no phlegm turbidity. Fourth, in order to communicate the meridians and unfold collaterals, if the pathogen is external, apply the method of 'yangxue tongluo[養血通絡]', while if the pathogen is internal, calm by doing 'qianyang zhenni[潛陽鎭逆].' Fifth, in order to treat pseudo zhongfeng caused by yang deficiency, one must 'lianyin gutuo[戀陰固脫]' while using medicinals that 'jiangxiang[潛降]'. Conclusions : Treatment of zhongfeng in the Zhongfeng Jiaoquan diverged from 'wenjing sanhan', the usual approach to zhongfeng which sees it as external, and established the 'qianjiang zhenshe [潛降鎭攝]' treatment method based on the internal wind theory. It suggests a new Korean Medical pathology based on theories of Western medicine, and introduces eight principles in treating zhongfeng, which would influence the treatment of zhongfeng in the future.

In this paper, we study the problem of mobile data offloading for a network that contains multiple mobile network operators (MNOs), multiple WiFi or femtocell access points (APs) and multiple mobile users (MUs). MNOs offload their subscribed MUs' data traffic by leasing the unused Internet connection bandwidth of third party APs. We propose a combinatorial auction-based two-stage matching mechanism comprised of MU-AP matching and AP-MNO matching. The MU-AP matching is designed to match the MUs to APs in order to maximize the total offloading data traffic and achieve better MU satisfaction. Conversely, for AP-MNO matching, MNOs compete for APs' service using the Nash bargaining solution (NBS) and the Vickrey auction theories and, in turn, APs will receive monetary compensation. We demonstrated that the proposed mechanism converges to a distributed stable matching result. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm well capture the tradeoff among the total data traffic, social welfare and the QoS of MUs compared to other schemes. Moreover, the proposed mechanism can considerably offload the total data traffic and improve the network social welfare with less computation complexity and communication overhead.

In this thesis we aim at analyzing international competitive power of Chinese ginseng in comparison with Korean ginseng and searching policy direction for Korea to compete Chinese ginseng industry. We summarized the research results as follows; First, we examine the structural change of ginseng industry of China. Second, we review the theories for international competitiveness and apply the method of analyzing competitiveness to ginseng industry. Third, we compared the international competitive power of the ginseng industry between China and Korea and found that Chinese ginseng, estimated by Revealed Comparative Advantage(RCA) at about 15, still remains high competitiveness in terms of cost and price but lowering price competitiveness recently. Based on the research results, we suggest export promotion strategies of the Korean ginseng as follows; 1) Korean government should enforce trade cooperation with China so as to register Korean root ginseng an importable medicine. 2) Korean ginseng producer should develop various products such as capsules, powders and etc. according to China's consumer purchasing power and taste. 3) Korean ginseng should be sold as an differentiated commodity so that it will contribute to building consumer loyalty to Korean ginseng, makes market share superior to other cheaper ginseng products in China. 4) In order to be effective brand marketing and product advertisement, there should be established reliable networks to process and distribute Korean ginseng products exclusively.

Purpose - Present study investigates character identification and emotional response to character that may affect consumers' intention to purchase the character-attached products. And this study explores whether symbolic relevance and object relevance affect the character identification, and whether character attractiveness and character salience affect the emotional response to characters. Research design, data, and methodology - SNS characters, animated characters, game characters, and traditional characters were used as experimental characters. And stationery as experimental product was used. 250 college students participated in the empirical study, and structural equation model was used to verify hypotheses. Results - First, the character identification and emotional response to characters affected the intention to purchase the products positively, and the emotional response to characters also positively affected character identification; second, symbolic relevance had no positive impact upon character identification, while object relevance had positive influence on character identification; and third, character attractiveness and salience had a positive effect on the emotional response. Conclusions - Present study contributes to the progress of character theories. Marketers should find ways to increase consumers' object relevance to characters and the level of characters' attractiveness and salience in order to promote the intent to purchase the products.

The purpose of this paper is to explore a new methodology for the historiography of Korean cos-tumes. In particular, I focus on the possibility for systematic, historical methods appropriate for the history of Korean costumes. First, I characterize the general historiography of costumes as involving two aspects-one as the social science and the other as historical science(Geschichteswissenschaft). My contention is that any historical study of costume should be established on the intersection of social and historical studies, and their entangling relations with many a neighboring field of sciences. It requires in other words, an interdisciplinary approach that combines various methodologies of social sciences as well as those of history. Second, I present an overall review of the historical methodology with a special emphasis on the“Quellenkunde”of orthodox historiography. Building on the review, third, I pay attention to recent innovations in historical methodologies, such as“New History”that draws on history, sociology and social history, and their applicability to the history of Korean costmes. In this regards. I adress among others, the following theoretical perspectives : 1) comparioson and comparative history, 2) the formatived and paternal approaches toward the history of costume, 3) particulartiy and universality of Korean costume. I conclued that the history of Korean costumes should broaden its theoretical horizon in order to accomodate a wider range of research agenda, including costumes of neighboring cultures, while remaining sensitive to new theories and methods of the neighboring social historical sciences. For this purpose, it is emphasized that an international collaboration among researchers of the region, as well as that across the different disciplinnary boundaries, is indispensable for successful studies that can embrace diverse fields and areas.

Recently our educational methodologies have been changed to an open, student-centered structure. Mathematics is now learned through experiential interaction and less emphasis is placed on abstract theories. For example, the axioms of the geometry in the middle school curriculum have been expressed by using symbolic letters. Students find these abstractions very difficult and it hinders their ability to grasp the significance of geometrical concepts. In an effort to simplify these abstract concepts and enhance the students interest and ability to learn, the GSP (Geometry Sketchpad) is proving to be a useful and effective tool. First, Second and third grade students have found the GSP to be extremely useful. While the pad has no sound function it still enables the students to freely change diagrams without disrupting the integrity of the program. There is also a running order of instructions at the bottom of the screen to facilitate the step by step understanding of mathematical procedures. This function makes the program ideal for use by teachers, students and even beginners. Anyone experiencing difficulty can get immediate assistance from the guidebook which is located at the back of each program. Allowing individuals to manipulate and actually see the changing deductions and axiom proofs on the computer screen provides them with immediate feedback and reinforcement. It also enhances their overall interest in learning geometry. The use of the GSP is proving to be an innovative and effective tool in facilitating the transition of mathematics into an open, student-centered educational forum.

The purpose of this study is to understand a information technology acceptance model and to test empirically using field survey. In order to achieve this purpose, first of all, I examined literature reviews about the theory of reasoned action(TRA), the theory of planned behavior(TPB), and the theories of technology acceptance model(TAM). Based on literature reviews, I proposed a technology acceptance model and empirically verified it through using field survey. As a result of, this study was designed to predict and to explain the factors of affecting reuses of a website. The data that were surveyed 193 users of internet were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 4.0. The major results of this study as follows : First, the perceived complexity is influenced by the skill & experience and the quality of system. Second, the quality of system affects the perceived usefulness. Third, the perceived complexity affects the perceived usefulness and the perceived playfulness. Fourth, reuses of a web site are influenced by the perceived usefulness and the perceived playfulness. Finally, the quality of system affects the perceived usefulness and the skill & experience affect the perceived playfulness.

This study presents a comparative analysis of enforcement and regulatory compliance issues in Korean and American fisheries. The comparison involves characterizing factors which affect regulatory compliance. The study also suggests policy directions and strategies by characteristics of factors suitable to Korean fisheries circumstances in order to induce voluntary compliance from fishers and to make compliance friendly environment for the fishers. In detail, this study has 3 steps as follows. First, this study characterizes factors influencing compliance and non - compliance caused by various reasons and categorizes these factors by considering theories for fisheries regulatory compliance. Major categories of compliance factors consist of fisheries resources, users(fishers), and the government. Each category is composed of several factors and sub - factors by characteristics. Second, this study seeks to diagnose problems and limitations from the regulatory compliance in Korean and US' fisheries by analyzing the current status of the compliance in both countries. The comparative analysis between two countries highlights the problems and limitations of each country's regulatory compliance and leads to implications for Korean fisheries. Third, this study suggests policy directions and strategies suitable to Korean regulatory compliance environment through detailed understanding of U.S.' fisheries regulatory compliance. The suggested strategies are based on the concept of voluntary compliance and compliance - friendly environment, not command and control regulations. Furthermore, this study provides policy suggestions for Korean fisheries regulatory enforcement and compliance issues.

In spite of the perceived importance of sustainable development in society, we still fails to reflect consistently our best understandings about the sustainable development and education for sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to inquire into the orientation of education for sustainable development in the 21st Century knowledge-based society. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, it is necessary to provide newly defined sustainable development which enables us to transform unsustainable way of life into environmentally sound and sustainable development. Education for sustainable development is defined as a basic education that have a mature understanding among the human, nature and wisdom of life. Second, we should emphasis on a system thinking, basic communication in order to encourage education for sustainable development as a learning strategy. Third, we should suggest both individual and community learning education for sustainable development. Finally, we develope knowledge system of sustainable development in accordance with the theories of knowledge management. In conclusion, it is necessary to approach education for sustainable development in the context of the knowledge-based society and the information age. It enables us enhance a new awareness and attitudes towards sustainable development. Furthermore, it is expected to develop an education program for the sustainable development of understanding.
