The purpose of this study is to investigate prior thinking and posterior thinking formation of children and adolescents in sinking objects. The subjects consisted of twenty eight, 9- and 11-year old children and fourteen, 13-year old adolescents selected from one elementary school and two middle schools. The transcripts were analyzed to classify children and adolescents'prior thinking and posterior thinking frequency, reasoning response(evidence based response, idea based response) and reasoning method(valid method, invalid method). The data were analyzed by frequency, percentile, mean and standard deviation,1 test, ANOVA. Major findings were as followings: 1. Children and adolescents have already had prior thinking in sinking objects. 2. Children and adolescents applies their prior thinking to posterior thinking formation process. 3. There were significant differences in children and adolescent'posterior thinking formation process, especially choices in objects and reasoning methods depending on age. 4. There were significant differences in children and adolescents'reasoning response depending on presented evidences types.5. Through the experimentation, children and adolescents'prior thinking was different from their posterior thinking. There were significant differences in differences between the prior thinking and posterior thinking depending on age.
Purpose: This investigation examined the effect of PBL on the meta-cognition, critical thinking, and problem solving process. Method: The research design was pre-posttest with a none qui valent control group design. Scenarios for PBL sessions were developed on the basis of textbooks and patients' charts and tested for content validity. Seventy six nursing students who took a 'Nursing Process' course from two nursing schools participated in the experimental group and control group. The experimental group performed PBL during the semester. Meta-cognition and problem solving processes were assessed by questionnaires which were developed using pedagogics. Critical thinking was measured by the CCTST(California Critical Thinking Skill Test) Form 2000. The data was analyzed by repeated measure (pretest-posttest) MANOVA, and correlation analysis. Result: PBL improved the participants' meta-cognition and problem solving process but not critical thinking. The relationship between meta-cognition and the problem solving process was supported but the relationship between critical thinking and problem solving was not supported. Conclusion: These results suggest that PBL has a positive effect on nursing students' educational outcomes. To improve the problem solving ability of nursing students, PBL should be applied to more subjects in the nursing curriculum.
This research investigates how digital design agencies and client companies incorporate design thinking-a human-centered approach to solving difficult problems-into their website development processes. Based on a literature review on the design-thinking-driven web development process, multiple case studies of award-winning website projects were performed by in-depth interviews with key practitioners. Through analyses of these cases, their user-centered approaches for website innovation were identified according to the following four phases: web planning (discovery and defining phases) and web design and development (development and delivery phases). Moreover, distinct approaches of design thinking practices were identified according to two website types: a brand promotion website with a killer brand storytelling approach; and a service channel website with a strategic UI/UX-driven approach. Next, the key success drivers of these website projects were suggested in light of the typical themes of design thinking (i.e., human centeredness, research based, context awareness, and collaboration). Some practical limitations were also found in adopting the design-thinking-driven web development process, such as limited research methods and tools, and insufficient prototyping and experimentation. Along with these limitations, it was also discovered that current digital design agencies still face the following challenges in adopting the design-thinking-driven web development process: building a long-term, playful partnership with clients; leveraging decision-makers' design thinking awareness; and coping with limited resources (design thinking practitioners, budgets, and schedules).

In this study, we suggested the design thinking process that was possible to be introduced in science education and also examined the validity of the process in terms of group creativity. To do this, the design thinking process applicable to science education was selected from a variety of design thinking processes developed abroad, and then the process was modified and supplemented. We created the education program based on the developed design thinking process and applied it to high school students. The results revealed that we could offer the design thinking process through the five stages: 'understanding knowledge', 'empathy', 'sharing perspective', 'generating idea', and 'prototype'. With the results of the application of the program, we could confirm the relationship building and information seeking attributes in the understanding knowledge stage and the user-orientation, relationship building, and interpersonal understanding attributes in the empathy stage. We could also find the organization of the team attribute in the sharing perspective stage and the analytical strategic thinking attributes in the generating idea stage. Finally, the communication and analytical strategic thinking attributes in the prototype stage were confirmed. All of the key attributes of the group creativity found from skilled professionals were not confirmed from the students. However, we could ascertain the possibilities that the students should experience the process of group creativity and learn the relevant values through the developed design thinking process.
Thinking methods have been widely recognized as phenomenon of problem solving in architectural design process and as one of the bases of creativity. In recent years the study of thinking methods have become a major focus of design research. And the purpose of the paper will understand the phenomenon of characteristic and classification of thinking methods in the architectural design process. Extensive protocols are recorded. In particular, the protocols contain sufficient information to make a detailed picture of the architect's problem-solving processes. A protocol study is reported in which the experimental data by architect's is analyzed through the visual protocol analysis method. These findings will help understand the architectural design nature. And they supply a direction for creative education for architects and the base for CAAD system development through understanding for architect's thinking methods.

Previous researches on the improvement of logical thinking in Informatics subject have used general logical thinking test and only limited improvement of logical thinking by programming learning result. In this study, the operational definition of the logical thinking in problem-solving process on Informatics education is different from the general logical thinking and the logical thinking of the other subjects. Firstly, we suggested the operational definition of components of logical thinking using the open questionnaire by expert and research team discussion. Also, we suggested the relationship between the operational definition and contents of the 'problem-solving methods and procedure' section in secondary Informatics subject. Finally, this study developed the evaluation contents based on the operational definition of components of logical thinking. The components of logical thinking which was required in problem-solving process on Informatics subject were ordering reasoning, propositional logic, controlling variables, combinatorial logic, proportional reasoning. We suggested the relationship between operational definition and problem-solving process and assessment of logical thinking in problem-solving process on Informatics subject. This paper will give meaningful insight to supply the guideline of the teaching strategy and evaluation methods for improving the logical thinking in Informatics education.
The objective of this study was to derive a list of creative thinking techniques applied with the requirements of the appropriate technique for the task of fashion design development among the process of fashion product planning. This was done through the analysis of thinking techniques by the type of thinking and idea method. Also, the study presented how each creative thinking technique derived is applied to the task of developing fashion design. The scope of the study was 'Fashion Design Development Task', which corresponds to the design sketch of a fashion item based on the seasonal design concept derived through the fashion design planning stage. Research on the thinking techniques consisted largely of the process of idea thinking, the elements of creative thinking, the patterns and types of thinking. Four studies by Makoto, Michalko, De Bono, and Cox suggesting that the patterns and types of thinking techniques were analyzed for the purpose of this study as empirical studies through FGI of a group of five fashion experts. The analysis results showed that the thinking techniques suitable for the development of fashion design were derived from the technique of fractionation, attributive listing, scamper, morphological analysis, mind mapping, lotus blossom, pattern language, provocative operation, and forced connection. In particular, it can be confirmed that the scamper was treated as an efficient and practical technique in the many studies.
