환경심리 측면에서 본 불교의 대상인식(I) -개념설정을 중심으로- (Environmental Cognition of Buddhism in the View of the Environmental Psychology(I) -Formation of Concept-)

  • This paper is studied on the concept of environmental cognition on accordance with the oriental(especially Buddhism) process of thinking. The Yeongiron(theroy : one of th most famous philosophy of Buddhism, the theory of cause and occasion) consists of the upgam-yeongi, the aroeyasik-yeongi, the chinyeo-yeongi and the pupkye-yeongi. And the concept of these theory are as follows: The conceptural elements of upgam-yeongi consist of sack(色), soo(受), sand(想), hand(行), sik(識). The elements connects with the western environmental psychology such as sack and objects, soo and stimuli, sand and perception, hand and cognition, sik and behavior. Similarly, aroeyasik-yeongi that consist of sangbun(相分), kyunbun(見分), chajungbun(自證分), chungjajungbun(證自證分) connects with objects, perception, cognition, behavior too. The chinyeo-yeongi divide into smase(三細) and yukchu(육추), the samse consist of mumyungupsang(無 明業相), nungyunsand(能見相), kyungyesand(境界相) and the yukchu consist of chisang(智相), sangsoksang(相續相), chipchisang(執取相), kyemyungjasang(計明字相), kiupsang(起業相), upgyegosang(業繫苦相). These elements are relates with the concept of western environmental psychology from objects to behavior too. Pupkye-yeongi represent a characteristic of objects itself rather than a process of environmental cognition. However this study has limitations that the religion and scientific methods should be compare. sack(色) : an elements of it's derivation, all kinds of material soo(受) : a function of reception, feeling sang(想) : a representation of a thought in the mind hang(行) : mental operation sik(識) : a function of judgement sangbun(相分) : the thing in itself kyunbun(見分) : a reflection in the mind chajungbun(自證分) : confirmation of kyunbun chungjajungbyn(證自證分) : self-consciousness through self-examination mumyungupsang(無明業相) : a state of mixture with the object and the subject nungyunsang(能見相) : an operation of the subject kyungyesang(境界相) : a formation of object chisang(智相) : the beginning of distinction sangsoksang(相續相) : a judgement chipchisang(執取相) : a rsponse kiupsang(起業相) : have a influence to the next behavior upgyegosang(業界苦相) : retribution

Imagism of The Early Poems of William Carlos Williams

  • This paper attempts, not to evaluate, but to describe William Carlos Williams' poetic techniques in accord with his poetic theory of Imagism; it does this by showing the early poetry in 1910's. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how Williams developed his poetic techniques with his theory of poetry. The progress of his poetic theory is drawn from the influence of another poet, Ezra Pound. William Carlos Williams' poetic development in Imagism threads the periods of his writing from the early 1910's to the early of 1920's. William Carlos Williams forms progressively the theory of his poetic technique of Imagism in this period. He treats the poems as images. In his theory of Imagism, his art continually demonstrates the development of poetic techniques by the help of other artists. This period represents Williams' attention to the essence of poetic elements: 'the thing itself.' All of these things in life come before us in his poetry in such a way as to be a technical process divided into the well-formed theory of poetry. The development of William Carlos Williams' poetic technique takes a particular pattern in order to achieve a theory of Imagism. At last, the steps of his poetic technique arrive at an organic unity of poetic theory in the early poetry of Williams.

  • For succesful political advertisements the role of mutual communications between advertisers and their targets (i.e. voters) should be magnified, which must be based on the understanding of voter's life-style including the trends of daily life, their philosophy and attitude toward the contemporary matters. During the campaign period for the last parliamentry election the most important issue was nothing but who could be the best representer of their region without any political considerations compared to previous election and the decision made by voters has been evaluated as one of most brilliant ones so far. One thing to note from the last election is that many new faces have been high lighted and that could not have been possible if they could not differentiate their campaign from one of unchanged senior politicians by calling more attentions of voters to them by scrutinizing competitors' election pledges. The differentiation strategy in election campaigns is basically detecting small signs of changes in voters life\ulcornerstyle, bringing them into relief and provoking voters attentions to the election and advertiser. In this sense niche marketing strategy is the differentiating strategy itself and it can be a useful guide in political advertisement for the triumph of advertiser in elections as well as for heathy and fresh political environments on the basis increased attentions of voters. In this paper, aiming at further development of the niche marketing in political advertisements we propose questions whether the niche marketing in the last parliamentary election was introduced on the basis of concept of differentation by analysing last election's strategies targeted at voters specific dispositions.

환경교육 교재의 적합성 분석 (An Analysis on Appropriateness of Environmental Education Materials)

  • This study has an aim to construct a reference frame to analyze the appropriateness of environmental education(EE) materials of elementary schools, and to search the basic direction of the scheme for analysis. In addition, this study has an aim to induce what the results of this analysis suggests for the development and reconstruction of EE materials. It was analyzed how truly EE materials reflected contents selected as an analysis scheme, after grasping practical use and features of textbooks, audio-visual materials, and a web-site that are typical materials in EE of elementary schools. The results in textbook analysis were that there were a human-centered environmentalism in the EE unit ("Environmentally Sound National Development", 5th Grade) of Social Studies. The result in analysis of audio-visual materials "Environmental Warrior, Zentaforce" of EBS, were that there are unhealthy environmentalism in that material. In other words, technology itself is considered as a almighty means to solve environmental problems. Finally, the result in web-site analysis were that the "Environmental Class" of Ministry of Environment did not have sound environmentalism. The above result of study shows us that the most important thing in developing and using the environmental education materials is to have sound environmental values and EE perspective, to evaluate EE material with various point of view, to judge its result, and to use it.

피라네지의 공간표현특성 연구 - 'Le Carceri'를 중심으로 (A Study on the Characteristics of Spacial Expression in Piranesi - Focused on the 'Le Carceri' -)

  • The subject of this study is to find out the characteristics of spacial expression in 'Le Carceri' of Giovannibattista Piranesi. Piranesi was the classicist from using classical motif. But for using itself he was not absolute canon of classical but playing tool. Because his etchings of perspective were presented the modernity not fixed the frame. The etchings of Le Carceri were characterized the dark, deep, heavy and devastating. In conclusion, the characteristics of spacial composition in his etchings were presented the simultaneity of time both classic and contemporary time. And it could represented the nonexistent of structurality for visual rationality. Architectural & de-architectural elements of his drawing were become in fragments. So the fragmented elements, his etchings have shawn the off-center to cast off the classical concept. And also the body of human was become the thing of object in his drawing. That is, it was inverted the subject and the object and the function of prison depicted in canvas is disappeared. This is the point of evocation in Piranesi' idea.

세기말에 나타난 역사주의(Historicism) 의상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Historicism Fashion of Century-end)

  • The purpose of study is explaining the Historicism as a result of compromise, historical eclecticism, between historical things and current cultural background instead of regarding it as an imitation from the past. It means that external factors in history help internal esthetic value surface out as costume. Fashion s history is more than the classified thing according to the appearance with the changes of the times. Intrinsic cultural elements should be added in creating new fashion. One of the different features between Modernism and Post-modernism. When coming to the period of Post-modernism, it connected with the historical factors to make something new by fragmenting, magnifying, or minimizing them. This is calles 'Historicism'in the world of art. It revived the past, not the past itself, in new ways : quotation, reuse, metaphor, and mixture. To represent the image, parody, pastiche, or bricolage was usually used. In post-modernism fashion, parody is a technique for imitating the past or the preceding forms with artists'own critical points of view. This technique gives us shock or surprise by using satirical, ironical or paradoxical expressions. pastiche shares the same part with parody in imitating particular or unique style, and it can be renamed empty parody, because it doesn't have any hidden motivation or satirical impulse. bricolage is a mixture of quotations from other works. It contains fragments that deepen the image. Like the techniques uttered above, the revival of history through parody, pastiche or bricolage is historical eclecticism and it is included in Historicism.

Finding Meaning in Life Threatening Illness

  • This paper aims to explore how to help terminally ill patients and their families find meaning in their suffering from the logotherapeutic perspective, which is the essence of palliative care. For this purpose, this paper examines the main concepts and principles of logotherapy, and specific approaches based on the logotherapeutic perspective to help terminally ill patients and their families find meaning in life are presented. Emphasizing the will to meaning as the primary motive to explain human behaviors and based on its unique perspective of the human being, which is called the dimensional ontology, logotherapy considers the human being to consist of the body, the mind, and the spirit. The dimensional ontology implies that the human being "has" the body and the mind, but the human being "is" the spirit itself. Therefore, even though a human being can be sick physically or psychologically, Accordingly, it is essential to help these patients realize that they are not their illnesses, but just have them, and to rise above themselves to reach out toward something meaningful or someone to love; despite their suffering, they can still do something meaningful, even in a small way. Above all, the most important thing for these patients is to acknowledge that they have already lived a meaningful life and to believe that their meaningful work has been safely preserved in the past and nothing can take it from them, for as spiritual beings, their lives have been meaningful unconditionally.

  • 비트겐슈타인의 "논리-철학 논고"에서 '동일성'은 여러 중요한 의문들을 불러일으킨다. 비트겐슈타인의 '등식'이란 무엇인가? '등식'은 일반적으로 말하는 '동일성 진술'과 동일한가? 프레게는 동일성이 기호들 간의 관계가 아니라 대상(들) 간의 관계라고 주장한다. 그렇다면 비트겐슈타인은 이러한 프레게의 생각을 어떻게 비판하고 있는가? 또한 비트겐슈타인은 동일성에 대한 러셀의 정의에 대해서 명시적으로 비판한다. 그렇다면 그러한 비판의 요점은 무엇인가? 요컨대 동일성의 본성에 대한 전기 비트겐슈타인의 생각은 무엇인가? 나는 이 글에서 바로 이 물음에 대해 대답하고자 한다.

부산지역 의료관광산업의 전략적 접근 방안 (A Study on Strategical Approach of Medical Tourism for Busan)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose ways of promoting medical tourism in Busan. For the purpose, this researcher made a questionnaire survey of Japanese tourists who used in Busan International Ferry Terminal between January and April 30, 2008. Findings of the study can be summarized as follows. 86.3% of all respondents had never experienced any medical service in Korea. 57.3% said that the most important thing is the level of medical technology. Most of respondents preferred massage treatment using spa and sea water, followed by Oriental medical services. To make medical conditions(price competitiveness, high-level medical technology, high-quality medical facilities) of Busan properly informed to the outside, it is required to make the city itself more internationally recognized through public relations and strengthening individual medical services provided in the city. It is also required to build up a non-stop service system that helps foreign tourists not only easily use medical institutions, but also better cope with a variety of problems that they might face during stay in the city. To be more trustable to foreign patients, medical services of Busan should be certified by JCI. Furthermore, it is very much needed to develop products which connect medicine with tourism, for example, such programs that combine medical services, tourism, recreation and leisure.

The Mechanics of the Victorian Dramatic Monologue and Its Theoretical Implications for the Novel

  • A number of recent Victorian studies have participated in a renewed focus on form. E. Warwick Slinn and Monique R. Morgan, for instance, have contributed to enhancing our understanding of the Victorian dramatic monologue. This paper aims to expand what they have addressed by revisiting the mechanics of the dramatic form as a form, in particular addressing two types of dramatic monologue represented with supreme adroitness by Robert Browning and Alfred, Lord Tennyson, both of whom successfully attempted to widen our epistemology through a large act of the poetic imagination and great intellectual power. To this end, this paper lays particular attention to the role of the reader who is regarded as a key element of the dramatic aspect of the genre. In the dramatic monologue proper, real readers are actively brought into dialogic relation with the speaker or the poet, or both, whereby it seeks to represent an act of play among the poet, the speaker, and the reader. What the genre achieves in this fashion is twofold. For one thing, it pushes itself sufficiently to the very centre of the complex of apparently various narrative motives that animate the genre; for another, it honours the world of multiple viewpoints more than any other previous form of literature, all the more so as readers' views vary across their own time, space, and socio-cultural contexts. Incidentally, in one way and another, the dramatic monologue is of kinship with a Jamesian type of fiction, which is noted for its exterior impersonality. So this paper concludes by suggesting some theoretical implications that the dramatic genre assumes for, not only the naturalist novel, but also the (post-)modernist one.
