If ZnS receive electric energy, it can generate light. Thin film ELD has merits of excellent sight effect, solid state and easy fabrication but has problems of low emission density, high power loss and high operating voltage. Thin film deposited by electron beam evaporator has good uniformity of 6%. We fabricate excellent thin film ELD for solution of this problems. The thin film ELD made in this study has brightness of 650fL at yellow light and 350fL at green light.
The effect of central axial load on natural frequencies of various thin-walled beams, are investigated by some researchers using different methods such as finite element, transfer matrix and dynamic stiffness matrix methods. However, there are situations that the load will be off centre. This type of loading is called eccentric load. The effect of the eccentricity of axial load on the natural frequencies of asymmetric thin-walled beams is a subject that has not been investigated so far. In this paper, the mentioned effect is studied using exact dynamic stiffness matrix method. Flexure and torsion of the aforesaid thin-walled beam is based on the Bernoulli-Euler and Vlasov theories, respectively. Therefore, the intended thin-walled beam has flexural rigidity, saint-venant torsional rigidity and warping rigidity. In this paper, the Hamilton‟s principle is used for deriving governing partial differential equations of motion and force boundary conditions. Throughout the process, the uniform distribution of mass in the member is accounted for exactly and thus necessitates the solution of a transcendental eigenvalue problem. This is accomplished using the Wittrick-Williams algorithm. Finally, in order to verify the accuracy of the presented theory, the numerical solutions are given and compared with the results that are available in the literature and finite element solutions using ABAQUS software.

In this study, we investigated the electro-optical (EO) characteristic of fringe-field switching (FFS) mode cell by the ion beam alignment method on the a-C:H thin film. The suitable inorganic thin films for FFS cell and the aligning capabilities of nematic liquid crystal (NLC) using the new alignment material of a-C:H thin film were studied. An excellent voltage-transmittance (V-T) and response time curve of the ion beam aligned FFS-LCD was observed with oblique ion beam exposure on the a-C:H thin films. Also, the V-T hysteresis characteristics of the ion beam-aligned FFS-LCD with IB exposure on the a-C:H thin films is almost the same as that of the rubbing-aligned FFS cell on a polyimide surface.

We studied the nematic liquid crystal (NLC) aligning capabilities using the new alignment material of a Titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) thin film by rf magnetron sputtering system for 15min under various rf power. A very low pretilt angle by ion beam exposure on the $TiO_2$ thin film was measured. A good LC alignment by the ion beam alignment method on the $TiO_2$ thin film surface was observed at annealing temperature of $200^{\circ}C$, and the alignment defect of the NLC was observed above annealing temperature of $250^{\circ}C$. Consequently, the low NLC pretilt angle and the good thermal stability of LC alignment by the ion beam alignment method on the $TiO_2$ thin film by sputter method as various rf power condition can be achieved.
The ion-induced secondary electron emission coefficient ${\gamma}$ and work function for MgO thin film with $O_2$ plasma treatment has been investigated by ${\gamma}$ -FIB (focused ion beam) system. The MgO thin film deposited from sintered material with $O_2$ plasma treatment is found to have higher ${\gamma}$ and lower work function than those without $O_2$ plasma treatment. The energy of various ions used has been ranged from 100eV to 200eV throughout this experiment. It is found that the highest secondary electron emission coefficient ${\gamma}$ has been achieved for 10 minutes of $O_2$ plasma treatment under RF power of 50W.

The strength and buckling problem of a five layer sandwich beam under axial compression or bending is presented. Two faces of the beam are thin aluminium sheets and the core is made of aluminium foam. Between the faces and the core there are two thin binding glue layers. In the paper a mathematical model of the field of displacements, which includes a share effect and a bending moment, is presented. The system of partial differential equations of equilibrium for the five layer sandwich beam is derived on the basis of the principle of stationary total potential energy. The equations are analytically solved and the critical load is obtained. For comparison reasons a finite element model of the beam is formulated. For the case of bended beam the static analysis has been performed to obtain the stress distribution across the height of the beam. For the axially compressed beam the buckling analysis was carried out to determine the buckling load and buckling shape. Moreover, experimental investigations are carried out for two beams. The comparison of the results obtained in the analytical and numerical (FEM) analysis is shown in graphs and figures. The main aim of the paper is to present an analytical model of the five layer beam and to compare the results of the theoretical, numerical and experimental analyses.

The general way to process the surface by means of the laser was heat treatment for strengthening the surface hardness. They have used the laser for changing the property of the surface, especially for metal. Generally, it is recent increasing tendency to use the thin plate panel for making things smaller and lightweight. However, thin plate should be strengthened or let the thin plate panel have moment of inertia by means of engraving the groove or wave on them for lightweight and strengthening. Therefore it is expected that the thin plate panel can be harder and more stable through processing the metal surface by laser beam irradiation and the hardness of thin plate possibly can be also changed how many parts of them are harden. Through this research, it can be grasped how the hardness and mechanical characteristic changes according to width and depth of groove by laser affect the max stress by the ratio of $A_H/A_T$ (hardening area/total area) and characteristic of displacement and structural characteristic for making the thin plate harder by the strengthening metal surface of thin plate by laser through the experiment and analysis of FEA can be presented.
Linear ion beams have been introduced for the ion beam treatments of flexible substrates in roll-to-roll web coating systems. Anode layer linear ion sources (300 mm width) were used to make the linear ion beams. Oxygen ion beams having an ion energy from 200 eV to 800 eV used for the adhesion improvement of Cu thin films on PET substrates. The Cu thin films deposited by a conventional magnetron sputtering on the oxygen ion beam treated PET substrates showed Class 5 adhesion defined by ASTM D3359-97 (tape test). Argon ion beams with 1~3 keV used for the ion beam sputtering deposition process, which aims to control the initial layer before the magnetron sputtering deposition. When the discharge power of the linear ion source is 1.2 kW, static deposition rate of Cu and Ni were 7.4 and $3.5{\AA}/sec$, respectively.

Photoinduced anisotropy (PIA) in amorphous As2S3 (a-As2S3 ) thin film, deposited by vacuum evaporation, is investigated. PIA is induced by linearly polarized Ar+ laser beam (λ=514.5nm) and probed by weak Ar+ laser (λ=514.5nm) and He-Ne laser (λ=632.8nm) beam through the crossed analyzer. Keeping pump beam intensity constantly, rotation of pump beam polarization direction induces reorientation phenomina of anisotropic axis. Introducing directional factor into simplified 3-level system, which is used to analyze photodarkening phenomina, an analytical expression of PIA is derived. Temporal behavior of PIAand its reorientation phenomina are investigated andcompared with theory. In the experiment pump beam intensity is 100mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and thickness of a-As2S3 thin film is 3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. In those condition, time constant of photoinduced anisotropy obtained by method of least square curve fitting is 4.0$\times$10-2sec-1. The time constant of PIA we obtained is larger than that of photodarkening, 2.8$\times$10-2sec-1.

Thermal bubbles find their diverse application areas in the MEMS (MicroElectroMechanial Systems) technology, including bubble jet printers, microactuators, micropumps, etc.. Especially, microactuators and micropumps, which use a microbubble growing by a controlled heat input, frequently involve mechanical and thermal interaction of the bubble with a solid structure, such as a cantilever beam and a membrane. Although the concept is experimentally verified that an internal pressure of the bubble can build up high enough to deflect a thin solid plate or a beam, the physics of the entire process have not yet been thoroughly explored. This work reports the experimental study of the growth of a thermal bubble while deflecting a thin cantilever beam. A physical model is presented to predict the elastic response of the cantilever beam based on the experimental measurements. The scaling law constructed through this work can provide a design guide for micro- and nano-systems that employ a thermal bubble for their actuation/pumping mechanism.
