  • AMF(amplitude modulated frequency) is defined as currents in the frequency range 1 to 100Hz. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of blood flow and skin temperature according to different stimulating frequency($1{\sim}30Hz,\;30{\sim}50Hz,\;50{\sim}100Hz$) of interferential currents. The results were as follow; 1. There were statistical significance on the blood flow with IFC 1, IFC 2, and IFC 3 group, and inter-groups(p<0.05). 2. There were statistical significance on the skin temperature with IFC 1 and IFC 3 group, and inter-groups(p<0.05). 3. IFC 1 was more statistical significance than IFC 3 group on blood flow(pP<0.05) 4. There was no statistical significance between IFC 1 and IFC 3 group on skin temperature(p>0.05).

  • Low level laser therapy has various therapy effects. This paper performed the basic study for fabricating the low level laser therapy apparatus, and one of the goals of this paper was to make this apparatus used handily. The apparatus has been fabricated using the laser diode and microprocessor unit. The apparatus used a 635 nm laser diode for laser medical therapy and was designed for a pulse width modulation type to increase stimulation effects. In this study, the designed device was used to find out how 635 nm laser diode affected the skin injury of SD-Rat(Sprague-Dawley Rat). We divided the participants into two groups; irradiation group which was irradiated 10 minutes a day for 9 consecutive days, and none irradiation group. The results showed that the study group had lower incidence of inflammation and faster recovery, compared with the control group.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effects of high supplementary diet of vitamins, minerals, and polysaccharides on enhancing immunity and preventing from cancer in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(hepatoma). Dietary therapy for patients was performed with dried yeast, wheat germ. Gonoderma extract, and vegetable juice. The vegetable juice was made of fresh green edible vegetables. Ten patients of total 30 patients were considered as improved state in tumor sizes, AFP, or symptoms. Most of patients complained of weight loss, fatigue, indigestion, anorexia before dietary therapy, but most of symptoms disappeared after dietary therapy. There was no significant side effects because of dietary therapy except for occasional slight diarrhea.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of rhythm therapy program on MPT(Maximum Phonation Time) and acoustic parameters in patients with Parkinson's disease. The therapy program utilized 5 Korean traditional rhythms: jinngyang, jungmori, jungjungmori, jajinmori, and semachi. The therapy consisted of counseling regarding vocal hygiene and actual therapy procedures. Six subjects with Parkinson's disease participated in the study; 3 subjects in experimental group and the other 3 subjects in control group. The pre- and post- acoustic analyses were performed in both groups. The results of this study were as follows; 1) MPT was significantly increased in the experimental group, 2) mono-pitch was significantly improved in the experimental group, 3) mono-loudness was significantly improved in the experimental group, and finally, HNR was significantly increased in the experimental group compared to the control group.

  • Children from low-income families are vulnerable to variable psychological and emotional stress related to financial issues and dysfunctional families. The subjects were 15 1st to 3rd graders who were low on the Self Esteem Scale (SES). They were attending an after-school center for elementary school students. They participated in three art therapy groups from April to October 2005. Children's depressive symptoms and self-esteem were assessed using the Children's Depression Inventory (CDI) and an observational check-list. Results showed that the group art therapy program brought about significant effects on increasing self-esteem of the children and reducing depressive symptoms, showing that group art therapy can facilitate emotional and psycho-social growth of children from low-income families and can be developed in family-based community programs.

  • The electromagnetic agent used in physical therapy rely far their effects on tissue heating and photo reaction of the body, Infrared has a thermal and analgesic effect, Ultra violet produces direct photo chemical reaction when it interacts with the body. Laser has broad effect on medicine, Ten ding Diancibo Pu (TDP) is in the infrared ray. The wave range is 20,000-250,000, as a far infrared. The effects of the TDP are number of white and red blued cell, capacity of animal immunization activity of enzyme in the organ and blood sugar density.

  • It is well known that visual cues can improve the motor performance of Parkinsonian patients. Previous laboratory studies have examined the effects of visual cueing to the floor. This case study examined the effects of using a visual cue above eye level on the gait of a Parkinsonian man. It was found that cueing the patient to a target above eye level while waking not only improved the kinematic parameters of the gait cycle but also facilitated a more functional gait pattern with re-intergration of arm swing, rhythm, heel strike and a more erect posture. Visual targeting above eye level may serve as an important clinical tool for physiotherapists treating Parkinsonian patients.
