  • This study investigates the demand management and energy saving plan of the apartment house based on the ESS (: Energy Storage System), which is the main equipment in the field of electric power energy efficiency, and suggests standardization for various technical factors and operation. It contributes to the spread of ESS industry. In addition, to create ESS market for apartment houses and smart homes, housing IoT technology is used to integrate apartment houses with smart home-based ESS and it is possible to achieve use efficiency and economic feasibility of power users, We will study a business model that can reconsider the acceptability of power users.

Needs for Shared Community Spaces Among Apartment Housing Residents in Kwangju City (아파트단지의 외부 공동공간에 대한 요구도)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine residents' needs for shared community spaces and to explore the relationships between these needs and characteristics of consumers such as age and employment status of the homemakers, family life cycle stage, occupation of the primary income provider, housing size, and homeownership. Statistical data were compiled to determine frequencies and percentage distributions, and subjected to General Linear Model and Duncan-test analysis.Most residents wanted to utilize the basements of their complexes for storage space. Further interest was shown for shared community spaces that would be run by residents themselves, such as vegetable gardens, indoor playgrounds for children, senior citizen's activity rooms, walking paths, study rooms, and lounges. Female residents under 45 years old were likely to express needs for storage spaces for bicycle, and multipurpose rooms for meetings and family events. Female residents with jobs were more likely to desire shared community spaces than full-time females residents were. These findings imply the need for consideration of diverse plans rather than uniform ones. This results can be usefully applied to develop new apartment housing for different social class residents.

Development of Guidelines for Indoor Environment in Apartment Remodeling Projects (아파트 리모델링의 실내환경 계획지침 개발)

  • The final aim of this study was to propose guidelines for the indoor environment of apartment remodeling projects. The first task of this study was to understand the major elements and the actual condition of the remodeling for apartment unit by carrying out in-depth interviews on residents and specialists. The open-access interviews were conducted with interior designers who have a wide experience of apartment remodeling and residents who live in recently remodeled apartment units. The second task was to evaluate the actual condition of the indoor environment and to analyze the main factors that affect the indoor environment in remodeled apartment units. Field measurements were carried out in twenty apartment units occupied after remodeling, recording indoor environment elements (indoor temperature, globe temperature, relative humidity, $CO_2$, CO, PM10, TVOC, HCHO, illumination, and equivalent noise level). Moreover, resident interviews and researcher observations were carried out to determine the contents of the remodeled unit and to investigate the architectural and living factors(like ventilation characteristics, etc.) related to the indoor environment. The results are as follows. The remodeling elements generally included the changing of lighting fixtures and finishing materials in all the spaces, the integration of the balcony into the children's room, the installation of furniture in the kitchen and the entrance, the changing storage furnitures and equipments in the bathroom. The average levels of each unit of relative humidity, $CO_2$, TVOC, HCHO, equivalent noise level, and illumination were proved to be on the whole in inadequate condition. The factors that affect these indoor elements were classified as remodeling factors (remodeling amounts, extent balcony integration, and lighting fixture exchange), ventilation characteristics, and living factors. According to these results, this research proposed the guidelines for the indoor environment in apartment remodeling projects.

An Analysis on Storing Container Corrosion of Powder Extinguisher according to Durable Years of Each Type-3 Powder Extinguisher (제3종 분말소화기 대상별 내용연수에 따른 저장용기의 부식도 분석)

  • This study presented the criteria for analyzing the corrosion of the powder extinguisher storage container according to the useful life, and conducted an experiment on the market area, the factory area, and the apartment building area to ensure proper performance at all times and drew the following conclusions.First, the experimental value for the degree of corrosion of external contact storage containers was found to be unsuitable in the factory area in 2014. In 2012, the experimental value for the degree of corrosion of external contact storage containers in apartment complexes was found to be inappropriate. Second, the experimental value for the dropout of the external paint in the storage container was found to be inappropriate in the factory area in 2014. In 2012, the experimental value of the degree of coating of the external paint storage container in the apartment building area was found to be inappropriate. It was analyzed that the useful life of the fire extinguisher is 10 years, and if it passes the sample test only once, it will be used for up to 13 years, but in fact, the difference varies greatly depending on the surrounding environment of the fire extinguisher place. Since the degree of corrosion of the storage container of the fire extinguisher from 8 years of the fire extinguisher's useful life is clearly decreased, it is judged that 5 years of the fire extinguisher is appropriate.

A Study on Furniture Layout Characteristics According to Space Control Behavior in Housing Area - Focused on Survey of Furniture Layout in Apartment - (주거공간의 공간조절행위에 따른 가구배치특성 연구 - 아파트의 가구배치 실태조사를 중심으로 -)

  • This study aimed at acknowledging characteristics of space usage and suggesting orientation of space planning and furniture designing that meet various residents' demands correlating with residential area, furniture and family members by doing fact finding of volume of the furniture in medium/small sized apartment. The contents of the study are "experience of functional remodeling," "a number of bedrooms correlating with a number of family" and "furniture arrangement of each space and characteristics of space utilization" based on forty six cases. Followings are results of the study. 1) It was acknowledged that the function of space relating to family members largely depends on furniture arrangement correlating with age of children. It is needed that flexible planning of residential area to meets growing children and various family demands. 2) Functional remodeling requires furniture rearrangement attended with the remodeling. Thus, it is required that ideas in more simple and efficient furniture designing and consideration of construction environment embracing that ideas. 3) It can be acknowledged that the most demanding matter to enjoy satisfied and comfortable life in residential area is the matter of storage area. It is also understandable that the matter can be worse by time going by and the change of living pattern. Therefore, it is required that the consideration of enough storage area compatible with its function of the room and the planning of built-in furniture for storage.

A Study on the Design of Footwear Cabinet according to the Size of Apartment (아파트 평형별 신발장의 내부구성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate the actual conditions and to design the desirable footwear cabinet according to the size of apartment. A survey research had been made on the actual size and general contents in the cabinet, satisfaction level of apartment from 20-pyung to 60-pyung. The core of this study was the introduction of modular concept for footwear storage. Basically, module was developed according to the length, breadth, and height of footwear. And cabinet units were designed for the various contents(shoes, boots, umbrella, sporting goods, vacuum cleaner, etc.)in it. Various cabinet units could be chosen according to the number of family and size of entrance hall. As a result, typical selection of units were demonstrated for different size of apartment of apartment on entrance hall.

  • As data management and analysis technology advances, there is active discussion on how to utilize data generated in construction projects. Among them, the materials produced during the supervision work are highly useful because their generation cycle and format are regulated according to relevant laws. In this study, we analyzed whether the data produced during the supervision work in the construction phase of apartment housing can be utilized for project performance management. First, this study identified key data necessary for performance management through FGI with experts in the field of apartment housing. Next, we collected supervisory data from the case project and identified whether the data was generated, its cycle, and storage format. As a result of the analysis, the supervisory data contained various information that could measure the performance of construction projects and had the advantage of standardized data. In the future, utilizing supervisory data is expected to enable effective performance management of apartment housing construction projects.

A Study of Estimation of Carbon Effects per Unit Area by Park & Green Type in Development Project Area (개발사업지구의 공원 · 녹지 유형별 탄소효과 원단위 산정에 관한 기초연구)

  • This study is aimed to provide basic data for the estimation of carbon effects in development project areas such as Happy Housing Project which includes redevelopment and reconstruction projects by inducing the basic unit of carbon effects and strategic planning and management to enhance carbon effects. According to the analysis, in urban parks, carbon uptake and carbon storage by the unit area of living area parks were $7.614kg/m^2$ and $18.5203kg/m^2$ respectively while carbon uptake and carbon storage by the unit area of theme parks were $1.2261kg/m^2$ and $2.831kg/m^2$ each. In facility greens, carbon uptake and carbon storage were $0.5683kg/m^2$ and $0.6636kg/m^2$ respectively while they were $10.77kg/m^2$ and $13.69kg/m^2$ individually in other urban planning facilities. In other greens, on the contrary, carbon uptake and carbon storage were $0.45kg/m^2$ and $1.02kg/m^2$ respectively. In site landscape, carbon uptake and carbon storage by the unit area of apartment landscape were $3.7394kg/m^2$ and $9.2292kg/m^2$ each.

The Replacement Plans for Aged Public Water Supply Pipes in Apartment Buildings : Especially Apartment Buildings in Bucheon (공동주택의 노후 급수관 개선방안에 관한 연구 : 부천시 공동주택을 중심으로)

  • The water supply galvanized steel pipes of apartment buildings in Bucheon city constructed with building permission before 1994 have many problems such as leaks, the water containing rust, and low water pressure due to corrosion. Therefore, this study aims to find a way to renew the water supply pipes under investigation through a survey. As a result, when replacing the galvanized steel pipe with the corrosion-resistant pipe, the water supply system should also be changed from the gravity tank system to the booster pump system and the hygienic water storage tank. It is necessary to redraft the long-term repair plan including the replacement of the water supply system. Also, it is necessary to save the allowance reserve according to the modified long-term repair plan.
