The purpose of this study is to verify the utility of reflected photoplethysmography sensor using two green light emitting diodes that influenced by ambient light. Recently it has been studied that green light emitting diode is suitable for light source of reflected photoplethysmography sensor at low temperature and high temperature. Another study showed that, green light is better for monitoring heart rate during motion than led light. However, it has a bad characteristic about ambient light noise. To verify the utility of reflected photoplethysmography sensor using green light emitting diode, this study measures the photoplethysmography signal that is distorted by ambient light and will propose a solution. This study has two parts of research method. One is measurement system that composed sensor and board. The sensor is made up PE-foam and Non-woven fabric for flexible sensor. The photoplethysmography signal is measured by measurement board that composed high-pass filter, low-pass filter and amplifier. Ambient light source is light bulb and white light emitting diode that has three steps brightness. Photoplethysmography signal is measured with lead II electrocardiography signal at the same time and it is measured at the finger and radial artery for 1 minute, 1000 Hz sampling rate. The lead II electrocardiography signal is a standard signal for heart rate and photoplethysmography signal that measured at the finger is a standard signal for waveform. The test is repeated 3 times using three sensor. The data is processed by MATLAB to verify the utility by comparing the correlation coefficient score and heart rate. The photoplethysmography sensor using two green light emitting diodes is shown better utility than using one green light emitting diode and red light emitting diode at the ambient light. The waveform and heart rate that measured by two green light emitting diodes are more identical than others. The amount of electricity used is less than red light emitting diode and error peak detectability factor is the lowest.

The swirl ratio of a charge in the cylinder was estimated by calculating the ratio of the rotary speed of charge which could be simulated from the rotary speed of paddle in the swirl measurement apparatus, to the engine speed which could be calculated by measuring intake air flow rate. The automation of the swirl ratio measurement for cylinder head was achieved by controling both valve lift in cylinder head and a suction pressure of surge tank using two step-motors. The number of measurement position for calculating mean swirl ratio was varied by adjusting the interval of valve lift. The mean swirl ratio with varying the number of measurement position showed nearly constant value. Two measurement methods for measuring the swirl ratio were compared, one was to control the suction pressure of the surge tank with PID (proportional, integral, differential) mode with by-pass valve controlled by the step motor and the other did not control the surge tank pressure by fixing the by-pass valve. The difference of the mean swirl ratio between the two measurement methods showed nearly constant value with varying the number of measurement position. This means that the w/o PID control method could be preferred to the PID control method which has been used, due to the simpleness of the swirl measurement.
This study was carried out to investigate experimentally the effect of the tire inflation pressure of a tractor on soil compaction and tractive performance. Two kinds of field experiments were conducted using an agricultural tractor. One experiment is concerned with the tractive performance of the tractor at the three levels of tire inflation pressure; 50kpa, 100kpa and 200kpa, and the other one is about the soil compaction at the four levels of tire inflation pressure; 50kpa, 100kpa, 150kpa and 200kpa, at three different numbers of passes; 1, 3 and 5 passes. From the results of the field experiment, it was found that decreasing the tire inflation pressure decreased the motion resistance of tractor and increased the tractive force and tractive efficiency. The tractive and working performance of the tractor could be improved by the reduction of tire inflation pressure. Increasing the inflation pressure and the number of passes increased the soil compaction. Rate of compaction increased rapidly at the first pass and declined at subsequent passes. To reduce the effect of soil compaction for the whole field, it is recommended that tractor should follow the rut of the first pass from the subsequent passes, and decrease the inflation pressure of the driving tires up to allowable minimum level.
The steam generator feedwater flow-rate in a nuclear power plant was estimated by means of artificial neural networks with the wavelet analysis for enhanced information extraction. The fouling of venturi meters, used for steam generator feedwater flow-rate in pressurized water reactors, may result in unnecessary plant power derating. The back-propagation network was used to generate models of signals for a pressurized water reactor Multiple-input, single-output hetero-associative networks were used for evaluating the feedwater flow rate as a function of a set of related variables. The wavelet was used as a low pass filter eliminating the noise from the raw signals. The results have shown that possible fouling of venturi can be detected by neural networks, and the feedwater flow-rate can be predicted as an alternative to existing methods. The research has also indicated that the decomposition of signals by wavelet transform is a powerful approach to signal analysis for denoising.

The methodology of this study are as follows.1. The descriptive analysis mark points of the examination subjects. 2. The correlation analysis between the examination subjects. 3. The multiple regression analysis among the examination subjects. Every mark points tend to be changed in wide ranges according to the student's learning ability. On the certificates examination for marine officers, Students in deck part recorded higher in rate of successful applicants, but showed more subject failure than those in engine part. It is especially suggested for the students to improve the teaching and learning skills of the subject. The high correlation subject to total and average points were found in English subject. The high correlation subject was shown between English & Ship handling, Engineering 1&2 and English & Engineering 1,2,3. The most influential subjects to pass the examination were Navigation, English, Engineering 3.
This paper is to discuss distribution of welding residual stresses of a ferritic low alloy steel nozzle with dissimilar metal weld using Alloy 82/182. Two dimensional (2D) thermo-mechanical finite element analyses are carried out to simulate multi-pass welding process on the basis of the detailed and fabrication data. On performing the welding analysis generally, the characteristics on the heat input and heat transfer of weld are affected on the weld residual stress analyses. Thermal analyses in the welding heat cycle process is very important process in weld residual stress analyses. Therefore, heat is rapidly input to the weld pass material, using internal volumetric heat generation, at a rate which raises the peak weld metal temperature to $2200^{\circ}C$ and the base metal adjacent to the weld to about $1400^{\circ}C$. These are approximately the temperature that the weld metal and surrounding base materials reach during welding. Also, According to the various ways of appling the weld heat source, the predicted residual stress results are compared with measured axial, hoop and radial through-wall profiles in the heat affected zone of test component. Also, those results are compared with those of full 3-dimensional simulation.
Effect of food on the absorption characteristics of oral rifampicin was studied in the fasted rats. Rifampicin dissolved in a new cosolvent was also injected to the rats intravenously, and the pharmacokinetic analysis was performed to explain the effect of food on the gastrointestinal absorption of rifampicin. Rifampicin was absorbed rapidly and completely in the fasting state. Food had a profound effect on the gastrointestinal absorption of rifampicin, i. e., bioavailability and the extent of absorption were decreased to less than one-third of the fasting state in the postprandial state. Food seemed to imhibit the absorption and reabsorption of rifampicin in the gastrointestinal tract, but not the absorption rate constant. Hepatobiliary excretion seemed to be the major route of elimination, since the renal clearance accounted for only 8 % of the systemic clearance. Nevertheless, first-pass effect was negligibly small and most of rifampicin absorbed could reach systemic circulation. Serum concentration change of oral rifampicin on multiple dosing differed markedly in the fasting and postprandial state, which suggested the need of careful adjustment of dosage regimen in both states.
This study was conducted to develop a nondestructive grouping system for soil organic matter using visible (VIS) and near infrared (NIR) spectroscopic method. The artificial light was irradiated on the cut soil surface at 15 to 20 cm depths to reduce the errors of light at open field. The reflectance energy from the cut soil surface was measured to group the soil organic matter using VIS/NIR light sensor with narrow band pass filter. From reflectance spectra of soil samples, the sensitive wavelengths for measuring the soil organic matter were selected and compared to previous research results. The grouping system for soil organic matter consisted of light sensor with band pass filter measuring the reflectance energy of the cut soil surface, global positing system (GPS), analog-to-digital (AD) converter, computer and operating software. The regression models to predict the soil organic matter were developed and evaluated. From field test, the accuracies of the developed light sensor system were 81.3% for five-stage grouping of the soil organic matters and 91.0% for three-stages grouping of the soil organic matters, respectively. It could be possible to support the decision making for variable rate applications with the developed grouping system for soil organic matter in precision agriculture.
As the demand for higher data-rate chip-to-chip communication such as memory-to-controller, processor-to-processor increases, low cost high-speed serial links\ulcorner become more attractive. This paper describes a 0.25-fm CMOS 1.6Gbps/pin 4-level transceiver using Stub Series Terminated Logic for high Bandwidth. For multi-gigabit/second application, the data rate is limited by Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) caused by channel low pass effects, process-limited on-chip clock frequency, and serial link distance. The proposed transceiver uses multi-level signaling (4-level Pulse Amplitude Modulation) using push-pull type, double data rate and flash sampling. To reduce Process-Voltage-Temperature Variation and ISI including data dependency skew, the proposed high-speed calibration circuits with voltage swing controller, data linearity controller and slew rate controller maintains desirable output waveform and makes less sensitive output. In order to detect successfully the transmitted 1.6Gbps/pin 4-level data, the receiver is designed as simultaneous type with a kick - back noise-isolated reference voltage line structure and a 3-stage Gate-Isolated sense amplifier. The transceiver, which was fabricated using a 0.25 fm CMOS process, performs data rate of 1.6 ~ 2.0 Gbps/pin with a 400MHB internal clock, Stub Series Terminated Logic ever in 2.25 ~ 2.75V supply voltage. and occupied 500 * 6001m of area.

A computational study for the optimal design of heat exchangers (HX) used in a high temperature and high pressure system is presented. Two types of air to air HX are considered in this study. One is a single-pass cross-flow type with straight plain tubes and the other is a two-pass cross-counter flow type with plain U-tubes. These two types of HX have the staggered arrangement of tubes. The design models are formulated using the number of transfer units ($\varepsilon$-NTU method) and optimized using a genetic algorithm. In order to design compact light weight HX with the minimum pressure loss and the maximum heat exchange rate, the weight of HX core is chosen as the object function. Dimensions and tube pitch ratio of a HX are used as design variables. Demanded performance such as the pressure loss (${\Delta}P$) and the temperature drop (${\Delta}T$) are used as constraints. The performance of HX is discussed and their optimal designs are presented with an investigation of the effect of design variables and constraints.
