System optimization of the low noise Wave Fan (저소음 Wave Fan 의 System 최적화)

  • For the past decade many effort has been delivered to understand noise generation mechanism for the small size engine cooling fan. As a result of that effort, the low noise fan such as the Wave fan was developed. Now the Wave fan becomes the well known low noise engine cooling fan. But in case of the new car development, the system in the new car will be different from previous one. So we need system optimization for every new model. In case of special application, a low speed fan should be developed to match system requirement. In that case, we meet severe engineering requirement by conducting fan system optimization instead of the simple fan scaling. In this paper, I will show you the system optimize process.

Constructing Urban Open Space System by Ecological Landscape Planning - The Case Study of Eunpyung New Town in Seoul -

  • After UNECD(United Nations Conference of Environment and Development) in 1992, ESSD (Environmental Sound and Sustainable Development) is an important concept of urban planning in Korea. The introducing environmental assessment system of urban planning and the district unit planning system were representative cases. In this process, Landchaftplanung(ecological landscape planning) was introduced from Germany. This study was executed for applying ecological landscape planning to Eunpyung New Town in Seoul city, and analyzing the problem to apply this system. The process of ecological landscape planning was followed to (1) the site survey, (2) the analysis and assessment of survey data, (3) the establishing ecological landscape planning. Three master architects participated in all investigations. The major fields of them were landscape architecture, architecture, and urban planning. Master Architects helped many aspects. In conclusion, ecological landscape planning was feasible to be applied to develop other New Town in Korea. However the mediation system is very weak, if different situations are confronted with ecological landscape plan and land use plan in the operative legal framework of Korea. Thus, the legislation of mediation system is necessary for an establishment of ecological landscape planning.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a new proportional pressure reducing valve and to verify the validity of a new mechanism with pressure control pin. The dynamic characteristics of the object pressure reducing valve was studied by numerical analysis of the mathematical model. Also, static and dynamic characteristics of the new pressure control valve were tested with a testing system based on the test standard.

  • Currently, the CCDs are widely used in astronomical observations either in direct imaging use or spectroscopic mode. However according to the recent technical advances, new large format CCDs are rapidly developed which have better performances with higher quantum efficiency and sensitivity. In many cases, some microprocessors have been adopted to deal with necessary digital logic for a CCD imaging system. This could often lack the flexibility of a system for a user for to upgrade with new devices, especially if it is a commercial product. A new design concept has been explored which could provide the opportunity to deal with any format of devices from any manufactures effectively for as tronomical purposes. Recently available PLD (Programmable Logic Devices)technology makes it possible to develop such digital circuit design, which can be integrated into a single component, instead of using micrprocessors. The design concept could dramatically increase the efficiency and flexibility of a CCD imaging system, particularly when new or large format devices are available and to upgrade the performance of a system. Some variable system control parameters can be selected by a user with a wider range of choice. The software can support such functional requirements very conveniently. This approach can be applied not only to astronomical purpose, but also to some related fields, such as remote sensing and industrial applications.

  • In this study, a comparative research between KS certification system, which is Korea's quality certification system and new JIS certification system are conducted. Compared with the results and the issue of quality certification system to look for ways to improve the company can be helpful in the development plan was presented. The survey obtained from the representatives on the company which currenty maintains certification. Survey was distributed and collected via e-mail., Highlights of the survey, were composed of four categories such as opinions of KS certification, criteria, production test and follow up, etc., these categories were put together for final conclusion.

  • Korean government had introduced copayment system as cost sharing to office-based medical care in order to reduce the demand for care in 1986. This review focuses on trends and characteristics of copayment on office-based medical care from 1991 to the end of Jan. 2001. Objectives of this study is ${\circled}1$ to analyse historical trends of copayment on office-based medical care during the last decade, ${\circled}2$ to analyse the effect of copayment introduced to office-based medical care on NHI finance, ${\circled}3$ to analyse the changing trends of the size of copayment in utilizing office-based medical care for the past 10 years, ${\circled}4$ to evaluate the meaning of copayment alteration implemented after the introduction of new prescription system and finally ${\circled}5$ to draw a some policy implications from the results of this review. We found that the main purpose of copayment introduction had been reduction in the expenditure of NHI finance. But, the reduction effect of insurer's expenditure has turned out to be negative and NHI finance has been in crisis after the introduction of new prescription system. Also, the copayment level of the insured has increased actually on a large scale. It seems that the introduction of new prescription system has changed the meanings and its policy implications of copayment system.

  • Yoke simulator has been made for understanding beam movements in the deflection fields of the CRT. Consisting of the modeler, solver and post-processor, the simulator makes yoke model (conventional and rectangular yoke) and calculates charge sources and magnetic filed by BEM (boundary element method). This system supports a number of charge elements (line and surface charges) and beam movements can be predicted by the system.

  • A spectroelectrochemical system assembled with a white light source, bifurcated optical fiber, Oriel Multispec spectrograph, and a charge-coupled device (CCD) detector is described. The system is shown to be capable of acquiring a whole spectrum in the spectral range of 290-800 nm in 25 ms or a longer period during electrochemical experiments at reflective working electrodes such as platinum or mercury. The utility of the system in studying electrochemical reactions during the potential scan, galvanostatic electrolysis, or after the potential step is demonstrated.

  • The purposes of this study were to review the current status and problems of the national qualification system in the Electronic field, focusing on deficiencies of the regulatory system and qualities of Electronic professionals including the Electronic control Professional Engineer, Master Craftsman, Engineer, Industrial Engineer and Craftsman, and to suggest new directions for the qualification system of the Electronic field. The concrete and extensive development plans for the qualification system of the Electronic field are as follows : First of all, a job analysis should be made of on the introduction of new systems or policy modification to reflect technical changes and national policies about the Electronic field in the qualification exam. Second, it is essential to prepare policies that are suitable for the qualification system in the Electronic field and that improve its effectiveness.

Design and Performance Improvement of a Digital Tomosynthesis System for Object-Detector Synchronous Rotation (물체-검출기 동기회전 방식의 X-선 단층영상시스템 설계 및 성능개선에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents design and performance improvement of a new digital tomosynthesis (DTS) system for object-detector synchronous rotation. Firstly, a new DTS system, called OSDR (Object-Detector Synchronous Rotation) is suggested and designed to acquire X-ray digital images. Secondly, the shape distortion of DTS images generated by an image intensifier is modeled. And a new synthesis algorithm, which overcomes the limitations of the existing synthesis algorithm, is suggested to improve the sharpness of the synthesized image. Also an artifact analysis of the DTS system is performed. Thirdly, some performance indices, which evaluate quantitatively performance improvement, are defined. And the experimental verification of the performance improvement is accomplished by the ODSR system newly designed. The advantages of the ODSR system are expressed quantitatively, compared with an existing system.
