취업신념 측정척도 개발과 타당화 연구 (The Development and Validity of a Scale to Evaluate Maternal Beliefs Regarding Employment)

  • This study was conducted to develop a scale to evaluate maternal beliefs regarding employment and to demonstrate its validity. The subjects in the study included 225 mothers in Suncheon who had children under the age of 5. Initially, the definitions of beliefs associated with employment presented in previous studies were examined, after which the existing scale, Beliefs about the Consequence Maternal Employment for Young Children (BACMEC), was modified based the advice of three experts in child study. Next, 35 mothers who had preschool children were interviewed to assess their views on the positive and negative aspects of maternal employment. After excluding overlapping contents, a scale composed of 50 questions (24questions adapted from questions on the BACMEC and 26 created based on the results of the interview) was generated. Based on the result of factor and regression analysis, 27 (15questions regarding positive aspects of employment and 12 regarding negative aspects of employment) of the 50 questions were selected for use as the new scale. Reliability analysis showed satisfactory results (Cronbach's $\alpha$ = .89-.92). In conclusion, it is hoped that the scale for maternal beliefs in employment developed in this study will be used as a useful measurement tool in future studies conducted to evaluate maternal employment.

Does Maternal Employment Affect Parental Time Allocated to Children's Food Consumption and Physical Activity? Evidence from the Korean Time Use Survey

  • This study uses the 1999-2009 Korean Time Use Survey to explore how mothers' employment affects parental time spent in activities that may relate to their children's weight. Specifically, it estimates two-part regression models to assess the effects of maternal employment upon the amount of time mothers spend in activities potentially related to their preschool children's eating and physical activity. The findings suggest that working mothers and those mothers who work longer hours allocate significantly less time in food preparation, eating with the child, and supervising the child's physical activity than mothers who are not employed and those who work fewer hours. The paper also finds that spouses of working mothers do not allocate more time to these activities to offset the reduction in mothers' time. Also, using local unemployment rates as instrumental variables, maternal employment is found to allow mothers to spend significantly more time on food preparation and family meals, although its effect on mothers' total childcare time is negative. Several aspects of Korean society may have made the relationship between maternal employment and childhood weight issues different from what was found in other countries.

어머니의 인구사회학적 특성과 양육스트레스가 자녀의 자아개념에 미치는 영향 : 양육 태도의 매개적 역할을 고려하여 (Effects of Maternal Sociodemographic Characteristics and Parenting Stress on a Child's Self-Concept: Parenting Style as a Mediating Factor)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the effects of maternal sociodemographic characteristics, especially education and employment, and parenting stress on the child's self-concept. Attention was also paid to the mediating impact of parenting style on the relationship between the maternal variables and a child's self-concept. Methods : A questionnaire and three scales were completed by fifth graders and their mothers, and 270 sets of paired data were analyzed. Results : The results showed that mothers with higher education experienced less child-related parenting stress, were perceived to be more achievement-oriented and rational by their children, and also had children with more positive self-concept. The relationship between maternal education and child's self-concept was mediated by the rationality dimension of parenting style. Maternal employment was not related to parenting stress, parenting style and most aspects of the child's self-concept. Lastly, child-related parenting stress had a negative effect on the child's self-concept, and this effect was mediated by the warmth and rationality dimensions of parenting style. Conclusion : Parenting style had a mediating effect on the relationships between the child's self-concept and maternal education and child-related parenting stress.

우리나라 수학교육의 문제점 진단을 위한 조사 연구 (A Survey Research to Diagnose the Problems of Mathematics Education ID Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to diagnose the problems of mathematics education in Korea by conducting an in-depth analysis of international comparative studies, a Delphi method, and a survey. Further analysis of TIMSS and PISA results also reveals several negative aspects of mathematics education practice in Korea. The mathematics education experts' opinions collected by Delphi method were classified into 12 categories: private education and test-driven education, curriculum and textbooks, lessons, evaluation, teacher, learner, teaching aid and facilities. affective aspects of mathematics, discrepancy between a theory and a practice, preservice/inservice teacher education and teacher employment test, education policy, and overall. Another survey was conducted to focus more on the development of curriculum which is a pending issue. Considering the fact that mathematics education should contribute to improve practical aspect as well as elaborate theoretical aspect, this study lays a foundation of improvement of mathematics education in Korea.

문헌정보학과 재학생의 취업전망에 대한 인식조사 연구 (LIS Employment Prospects: LIS Students' Perspective)

  • 도서관의 인력은 도서관서비스 수준을 결정하고, 도서관의 수준은 한 나라의 지적 역량을 가늠하는 가장 핵심적인 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 현재 문헌정보학과에 재학 중인 학생들을 대상으로 사서직 취업전망에 대한 인식을 조사하기 위하여 설문을 수행하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 도서관으로 취업하고 싶다는 비율이 40%로, 다른 분야에 비해 상당히 높게 나타났다. 그들은 사서직 고용환경에 대해 부정적인 견해를 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 향후 발전가능성이 있다는 취업전망을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 설문응답자가 희망하는 업무로 '문화프로그램 등 업무'가 가장 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 현재의 교육과정에는 대체로 만족하지만 취업지원프로그램으로 진로지도와 취업멘토링, 인턴십에 대해 높은 요구도를 나타냈다. 넷째, 학생들은 학업성적, 어학능력, 각종 자격증 취득, 인턴 및 실습, 경력관리를 매우 중요한 취업요건으로 고려하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 학생들의 직장선택에 영향을 주는 조직 환경적 요인은 보수와 복리후생, 자기발전 기회부여, 근무조건과 조직문화, 조직의 발전가능성 등의 순으로 나타났고, 개인적 요인은 개인의 적성, 취업분야 지식 및 기술 수준, 사회적 대우 및 인식, 전공일치여부, 직장과의 거리 등의 순으로 나타났다.

내일배움카드제 훈련이 취업성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Vocational Training on Employment Outcome in Korea's Training Credit Program)

  • 급속하게 변화하는 경제환경에 개개인이 얼마만큼 유연하게 적응하는가는 매우 중요하며, 그 핵심적인 수단은 교육과 훈련이다. 따라서 직업 교육·훈련이 그 목적을 충분히 달성하고 있는지를 엄밀하게 측정하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 직업 교육·훈련이 실업자의 취업확률을 높이는지 여부, 즉 훈련의 효과를 엄밀하게 측정하기 위해서는 훈련 변수가 가지는 내생성을 통제해야 한다. 본 연구는 내생성 문제에 관한 기존 연구의 접근방법을 비판적으로 검토한 후, 다양한 계량모형을 적용하여 훈련이 취업에 미치는 효과를 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 내일배움카드제의 훈련이 취업에 미치는 긍정적 효과는 확인할 수 없었다. 다만, 부정적인 효과가 유의미할 정도로 크지는 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 훈련의 한계효과는 남성에 비해 여성에서, 저연령층에 비해 고연령층에서 부진한 모습을 보였으며, 연령에 따른 모습은 남성과 여성 간에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 대해서는 자료의 업데이트와 훈련과정에 대한 상세한 정보를 이용하여 보다 종합적이고 심층적으로 분석될 필요가 있다.

최저임금과 생산성: 우리나라 제조업의 사례 (Minimum Wage and Productivity: Analysis of Manufacturing Industry in Korea)

  • 최저임금 인상 관련 논의가 고용인원 수와 같이 양적 측면에 국한되면서 부정적 효과가 주로 부각되어 왔지만, 최저임금 인상은 기업 또는 산업 특성에 따라 생산성 제고, 저생산성 한계기업 퇴출 등 질적 측면에서 긍정적 효과를 가져올 수도 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 관점에서 최저임금 인상이 기업의 생산성에 미친 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 실증분석을 위해 제조업 부문의 사업체 단위 패널데이터를 이용하여 제조업 내 업종별·고용규모별 최저임금 영향률을 추정하고 이를 기업의 생산성과 연계함으로써 최저임금 변화가 생산성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 특히 생산함수 추정에서 기존 연구의 문제점인 요소투입의 내생성을 보정함으로써 자본계수 과소추정 및 노동계수 과대추정의 문제를 보완하였다. 분석 결과, 최저임금 인상이 임금, 고용, 생산성에 미치는 영향은 업종별·고용규모별로 다르게 나타났다. 특히, 최저임금 인상은 제조업 전반의 생산성 제고에 긍정적인 것으로 추정되었지만 생산성 변화의 방향과 폭은 업종별로 상이했다. 최저임금 인상이 고용규모별 생산성에 미친 영향을 보면 전반적으로 고용규모가 작을수록 생산성에 부정적이지만 업종에 따라서는 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 최저임금 인상으로 유발된 임금 상승은 제조업 내 모든 업종에 걸쳐 생산성을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 정책적 시사점은 다음과 같다. 최저임금 인상으로 상당수 업종에서 생산성이 개선되는 것으로 추정된 만큼, 이를 최저 임금 상승이 초래하는 노동비용 증가 및 고용 감소 효과와 함께 종합적으로 평가하는 게 바람직하다. 아울러 동일한 최저임금 적용에도 불구하고 최저임금영향률의 차이로 인해 최저임금이 고용, 임금, 생산성에 미치는 영향은 업종·규모에 따라 상이할 수 있음에 유념할 필요가 있다.

노숙자의 삶의 경험 - 시설 노숙자를 중심으로 - (The Life Experiences of the Sheltered Homeless)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the psychological aspects of experiences of men living in a homeless shelter in Seoul. This study focused on understanding about the life of the homeless in the shelter by Phenomenological method. Method: The participants in this study were seven men who are living in a homeless shelter in Seoul. The following data were collected though the in-depth interviews and analyzed by the Phenomenological analytic method of Giorgi. Result: There are five focal significances about the life of the homeless. (1) Unplanned Life : Difficult life comes from outside situation, Freedom, The acceptance of unconsciousness life, Laziness, Unreliability, The dissolute life, No purpose to life, Relying on drinking, (2) Self-rationalization : Feeling of defeat, Give up, Desire for a support system, Lack of willingness, Anxiety, Chivalry, Falsehoods, (3) Superficial Interpersonal Relationships : Ignorance, Pressure, Discord, Hiding from one anther, avoidance. (4) A sense of devestation : Negative perspective, Mental weakness, Difficulties in employment, ambivalance with social structure, The place to escape, Complaining against the opposite sex, Sense of regret, Lack of relationship with family, The lack of self-confidence, Loss of volition (5) The Hope of new life : Realization, Desire for change, Dreaming of married life, Dependence in God Conclusion: The conclusion of this study shows that the men in the shelter had various psychological reasons for being in the homeless shelter. Further studies need to be done to validate this information and formulate ways to assist these men with their psychological needs.

전문교육기관 비행교관의 직무스트레스가 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Job Stress on Job Satisfaction of Flight Instructors at Aviation Training Centers)

  • Flight instructors at aviation training centers are exposed to various stresses, such as stress caused by special work environments, stress caused by working conditions, and stress related to uncertain future airline employment. These stresses are expected to not only affect flight safety, but also adversely affect the job satisfaction of flight instructors, and consequently negatively affect the performance of high-quality flight education. Therefore, this study was conducted to understand the effects of these stresses on the job satisfaction of flight instructors by examining the stress experienced by flight instructors in flight, psychological, and physical aspects based on the results of previous studies on stress. To the end, this study conducted a survey of flight instructors belonging to aviation training centers, and as a result of analyzing the collected data, it was confirmed that the physical stress of flight instructors had a significant negative effect on their job satisfaction.

정신건강에 대한 교사와 일반인의 태도 조사연구 (A Comparative Study of Attitude of Teachers and General Public Toward Mental Health)

  • In an attempt to recognize attitudes of teachers and general public toward mental health, III teachers of middle and high school and 130 general public were selected for this study from September 6, 1975 to October 18, 1975. Date were collected through "Mental Health Questionnaire"designed by Nounally. Results of the study were as follows : 1. The selected teacher group and general public group revealed almost similar altitudes toward psychotic patients, that is, positive aspects for employment problems and relationship toward other persons. 2. Both teacher group and general public group revealed the same attitudes toward neurotic patients, felt relatively more reliance on them, and showed much more positive attitudes toward neurotic patients than psychotic patients. 3. Both groups indicated that, for the security of mental health, It is best way to show him the right path and make sure that he follows it. As to mental health, most of the selective subjects consulted with psychiatrist about the problems and obtained the information through books. 4. Both teacher group and general public group identified mental illness being equal in seriousness to alcoholism or cardiac disease. In case of a close relative living in their home having mental disease, most of them responded to be glad to help him. 5. Both teacher group and general public group revealed intensively negative attitudes toward mental hospital in order of despair. danger, and filth, while positive attitudes toward psychiatrist.
