In Korea, mathematics education has been changed according to the 7th national mathematics curriculum renovated by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development announcement in 1997. The education of probability and Statistics has been carried out as a part of this curriculum. We analyze and compare 3 kinds of mathematics textbooks for 10-12 grade students. Descriptions of random variable, sample variance and sample standard deviation, distribution of sample mean, and etc. which are on some textbooks, are misleaded in school education. We suggest the unbiased estimator of sample variance in textbooks and distributions of sample means with normal population assumption.

In this paper, the probability and statistics education of the 7th high school curriculum is studied. We analyze each unit of probability and statistics in high school textbooks $\ulcorner$Mathematics 10-GA$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Mathematics I$\lrcorner$, and $\ulcorner$Practical Mathematics$\lrcorner$, and then research the percentage for the unit of probability and statistics for all textbooks. We also investigate the proportion for the number of students who select each subject of mathematics of the national academic aptitude tests for university admission in 2005 and 2006.

With advancement of computer and network, world wide web(WWW) as a medium of information communication is generalized in many fields. In educational aspect, applications of WWW as alternative media for class teachings or printed matters are increasing. In this article, we demonstrate a web-based electronic text on the 'probability and statistics' which is one of six fields of mathematics in the 7th curriculum. This text places importance on comprehension of concepts of probability and statistics as an applied science.

Since the 4th Industrial Revolution is implemented based on superintelligence, new insights must be provided through convergence studies with other fields to find optimal solutions to create new ideas. In this paper, we intende to present improvement measures for probability and statistical education, which is an athlete's subject on data analysis and processing in the ICT(Information & Communication Technologies) field in the era of superintelligence of the 4th industrial revolution. This paper aims to strengthen competitiveness through early development and commercialization of new technologies by presenting probabilities and statistical curriculums that require linkage in the ICT field. Second, it is necessary to present an educational system diagram linking probabilities and statistics in the ICT field to prepare a mid- to long-term response strategy for ICT education in response to innovative changes. Third, through a survey, we intend to present an effective educational operation plan linking probability and statistics to ICT major subjects by analyzing the perception of probability, statistical importance, and utilization of majors in this field.

컴퓨터와 네트워크의 급속한 발달로 인터넷 사용자가 급증하면서 모든 분야에서 정보전달 매체로서 웹의 활용이 보편화되고 있다. 교육적인 측면에서도 기존의 교실에서의 수업이나 인쇄매체를 통한 교육의 대체매체로서 웹의 활용에 대한 관심이 증대하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 7차 고등학교 수학과 교육과정에서 독자적인 영역으로 새로 분리된 '확률과 통계' 영역에 대해 웹상에서 활용가능한 교육용 전자교재의 구현사례를 제시한다. 확률의 계산이나 통계치의 계산 등과 같은 수리연산보다는 응용학문으로서의 확률과 통계의 개념과 원리의 이해에 중점을 두어 개발하였다.

장대홍(2007)에서는 R 패키지에 대한 전반적인 설명을 행하였다. 본 연구에서는 제 7차 수학과 교육과정 내의 확률 및 통계영역 목표와 내용을 중심으로 하고 제 7차 수학과 교육과정에 따라 집필된 중.고등학교 수학교과서들의 확률 및 통계단원을 참고로 하여 R 패키지를 구체적으로 수업에 어떻게 적용할 수 있는 지를 제안하여 보고자 한다.

가능성의 종류를 부족하게 책정하기도 하고, 특정 가능성에 너무 크거나 작은 가치를 부여하기도 하고, 앞서 고려했던 바와 관련짓지 못하기도 하고. 불충분한 논의 끝에 곧바로 다음 상황에 적용하기도 하는 등, 우리가 가능성에 관한 판단을 할 때 범하는 실수는 너무나 많다. 확률ㆍ통계의 역사로 걸어 들어가면 이와 같이 특정한 상황에서의 가능성에 대하여 우리가 범하는 것과 본질적으로 같은 오류를 많은 과학자, 수학자가 범하고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 본 고에서는 가능성에 관한 판단의 오류를 수정하기 위하여 노력하는 과정에서 바로 확률ㆍ통계의 이론화가 이루어졌다고 보고, 그 이론화 과정을 중심으로 확률과 통계의 역사적 배경을 살펴보고자 한다.

This study analyzes the likelihood principle and elicits an educational implication. As a result of analysis, this study shows that Frequentist and Bayesian interpret the principle differently by assigning different role to that principle from each other. While frequentist regards the principle as 'the principle forming a basis for statistical inference using the likelihood ratio' through considering the likelihood as a direct tool for statistical inference, Bayesian looks upon the principle as 'the principle providing a basis for statistical inference using the posterior probability' by looking at the likelihood as a means for updating. Despite this distinction between two methods of statistical inference, two statistics schools get clues to compromise in a regard of using frequency prior probability. According to this result, this study suggests the statistics education that is a help to building of students' critical eye by their comparing inferences based on likelihood and posterior probability in the learning and teaching of updating process from frequency prior probability to posterior probability.

우리나라 초${\cdot}$중${\cdot}$고등학교 확률 및 통계영역 교육은 1997년 교육 인적 자원부 고시로 제 7차 수학과 교육과정이 개정되어 현재 초${\cdot}$중${\cdot}$고등학교 현장에서 시행되고 있다. 교과서 전수 조사를 통하여 제 7차 수학과 교육과정에 따른 실용수학 및 수학 I 확률 및 통계단원을 분석하였고 제 6차 수학과 교육과정과 비교, 검토하였다.

"Statistical literacy" is important to be an effective citizen ([Gal, I. (2005). Towards "probability literacy" for all citizens: Building blocks and instructional dilemmas. In: G. A. Jones (Ed.), Exploring probability in school: Challenges for teaching and learning (pp. 39-63). New York: Springer]). Probability and statistics has been connected with real context and can be used to stimulate students' creative abilities. This study aims at identifying the extent that textbooks in three countries include experimental probability concepts and non-routine, open-ended, application and contextual problems. How well textbooks reflect real application situations is important in the sense that students can employ probability concepts when solving real world problems. Results showed that three textbook series did not mention experimental probability. Furthermore, all of text-books had more routine, close-ended, knowing, and non-contextual problems.
