Procrastination is an irrational choice to delay high-priority work in order to avoid its unpleasantness, despite the fact that the negativity will not cease if the work still remains undone. We hypothesized that (1) people underestimate the future negativity (i.e., delay neutralization) and (2) in order to complete work in a timely manner, one should project oneself into the future so as to recognize that the negativity associated with an activity does not diminish over time. Especially, negative future thinking that is unrelated to the consequence was hypothesized to reduce delay neutralization of negativity. In the present study, undergraduate students made a series of choices between delayed-but-longer and immediate-but-shorter assignment by employing an inter-temporal choice paradigm. We tracked how positive and negative episodic future thinking influenced the degree to which negativity is neutralized over time (Experiment 1). Following this, we confined the experimental condition to negative thinking about the future (Experiment 2). Participants neutralized negativity involved in assignment as a function of time, suggesting that procrastination arises from the delay neutralization of the negativity. Critically, such neutralization was significantly reduced when participants imagined a negative future event, but this did not occur when they imagined a positive future event (Experiment 1), or when participants did not think about the future (Experiment 1, 2). Our findings suggest that, prior to making a decision between work and indulgence, imagining negative future events can be an effective way to reduce the neutralization of delayed negativity and, in turn, procrastination.

본 연구는 빅데이터와 키워드 네트워크 분석을 통해 공동선 증진을 위한 미래교육 방향을 탐색함으로써 미래교육의 방향성 제안에 대한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. Textom에서 제공하는 빅데이터를 기반으로 '미래교육 + 공통선'이라는 키워드로 데이터를 수집한 후 키워드 네트워크 분석을 수행했다. 연구결과 '공익', '사회', 'KAIST 미래경고', '대책', '연구', '미래교육', '정치' 등이 공동선을 위한 미래교육의 사회적 인식에서 공통 키워드인 것으로 나타났다. 이번 연구결과는 공동선 증진을 위한 미래교육에 대한 사회적 인식이 인간, 물리적 환경, 사회적 대응, 학문적 관심, 교육정책, 교육계획 및 관련 변수와 밀접한 관련이 있음을 시사한다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 공동선 증진을 위한 미래교육의 방향성 제안을 위한 기초자료 마련에 의미 있는 시사점을 제시하였다.

학교상담은 우리나라 상담의 모태라고 할 수 있다. 우리나라에서 처음 상담이 시작된 곳은 학교 장면이다. 학교에 재학하고 있는 청소년들은 미래를 준비하면서 현재를 살아가는 사람들이다. 이들이 미래에 제대로 기능하도록 준비시키기 위해서는 학교상담전문가들의 역할이 매우 중요하다. 학교상담전문가들은 청소년들이 그들 삶을 잘 준비하도록 조력하는 일도 맡고 있다. 이러한 일을 잘 수행하기 위해서는 미래의 변화를 조망하고 변화된 미래에 잘 적응하는 데 필요한 역량이 무엇인가를 알고 이에 맞게 대처해 나가야 한다고 본다. 본 논문에서는 변화해 가는 환경에서 학교상담은 어떻게 대처해야 하는지에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 우선 미래사회의 변화 전망, 미래 직업 세계의 변화 전망, 미래사회의 인재상에 대해 논의하고, 이러한 준비를 조력하기 위하여 학교상담은 어떻게 이루어져야 하고 학교상담전문가들은 어떤 역할을 해야 하는지 알아보고자 한다.

The domestic simple payment service was not activated yet compared to foreign countries and there are many things to complement in the legal, institutional, and technical aspects. The future image of the domestic electronic payment propulsion was considered by the scenario planning focusing on the simple payment. Total 6 future scenarios were drawn through the scenario planning, and 3 major strategy directions for attaining the preferred future scenario were drawn. This study drew a meaningful scenario through various analyses and industry specialist questionnaire about the future of the simple payment service which will be a crucial change of the domestic electronic payment under the uncertain future situation, and suggested an implication for the government and every interested party who provides the industrial service to prepare for the future.

This paper describes the application scheme of resistive HTS-FCL(High Temperature Superconducting-Fault Current Limiter) on future new distribution system. Future new distribution system means the power system to which applies the 22.9kV HTS cable with low-voltage and mass-capacity characteristics replacing the 154kv conventional cable in addition to HTS transformer and HTS-FCL. The fault current of future new distribution system will increase greatly because of the inherent characteristics of HTS transformer/cable and applications of distributed generations and spot networks and so on. This means that the HTS-FCL is necessary to reduce the fault current below the breaking capacity. This paper studies the appropriate location, parameters and the influences of HTS-FCL on future new distribution system. Finally, this paper suggests the reasonable basic parameters of resistive HTS-FCL for future KEPCO new distribution system.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the ways and possibility of on-line environmental education(EE) for a sustainable future. For the purpose, the researchers reviewed and analyzed 22 Korean and 41 foreign Internet sites related EE. Then, the researchers selected five Internet sites in Korea, U.S.A., UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Researchers analyzed these five sites in depth, specially in the aspect of the education for a sustainable future/development. This analysis indicated that 'The Globe Programme'(UK) and 'Global Education'(Australia) sites contain more contents and activities related sustainable future/development then other three sites. On the basis of analysis, the researchers offered several recommendations for on-line EE for a sustainable future.

This study aims to expand the future study methodology and to develop a methodology of future-oriented curriculum analysis with future skills needs derived from patent analysis. With the case of information security, the methodology is applied to the 16 universities, which have information security department in undergraduate course. From the results, the followings are suggested : 1) for the increasing importance area including hacking, infiltration and PC security, a practical exercise should be emphasized; 2) for the convergence area including security policy, security legislation and OS security, proper faculties should be filed with recruiting field-based experts; 3) for the increasing importance area including professional area including security audit and information security protocol, the advanced curriculum related to graduate level should be provided.

This paper attempts to prove Dickens's hopeful view of the future in his last completed novel Our Mutual Friend. This novel has been usually regarded as one of the "dark" novels, "dark" in the sense of viewing social reality and the future negatively. However, although it has the dark descriptive color of society typical in Dickens's later novels, it still contains some elements that point to a better future. To prove this positive view of future, this paper will disentangle the intricate narrative structure of Our Mutual Friend and find out the true meaning of the dust--money. In addition, it will investigate how people react to dust(-like money). From a close study of several characters' lives, it will testify that the dark world of Our Mutual Friend, in the end, could be a world of regeneration, a world that will lead to a better future.

With the introduction of the ubiquitous technology, the housing culture centers of construction companies have demonstrated future housing image and technology. However, ubiquitous home services are technology oriented items. The purpose of this study was to identify u- services which were realized in domestic future housing and to compare those with services the residents needed greatly refer to researches related to demand for u-service. For this study, field studies were conducted with 3 domestic future housings and precedent studies on demand for u-service were analyzed according to the standard of residents' demand. The results of the study showed that residents prefer u-services for security and control of indoor environment for housework and leisure life. As a result, u-services which residents needed mainly did not correspond with those that were displayed in future housing.
