  • This is studied about the development of new PET yarn having the new appearance and touch effect of Polyester(PET) Yarn as using spinning and texturing technology. The spinning technology is that we use the manufacturing technology caused to the denier difference of filaments composing of yarn. And the texturing technology is that we develope texturing condition caused to spun yarn effect as using filaments producing from the spinning processing.

  • Characteristics of air-jet textured yarns are determined by linear density, strength, and instability together with structural properties. Such characteristics are affected by various processing parameters and supply yam properties. In this Paper, specially, we have studied on the effect of air jet texturing conditions not only on texturing characteristics but also on splitting behavior using split-type ultrafine P/N filaments and their draw textured yarns as raw materials. Microbump formation during laser texturing of glass substrates (유리기층의 레이저 텍스쳐링에 의한 미소융기의 형성)

  • Microbump formation during CO$_2$ laser texturing of glass substrates is examined in this paper. Experimental results show that different bump shapes (dome-shaped, with a central dimple, and with a peripheral rim) are generated depending on the laser fluence. A theoretical model for the process is suggested based on thermoelastic behavior but limited only to the dome-shaped bump. The dimensions (maximum height and base area) of the bump shows a logarithmic dependence on laser fluence as expected from the theory. Numerical computation reveals that the effect of thermal diffusion is not negligible for relatively long laser pulses.

A Study on the EDT Characteristics of TM Work Roll and Variation of Strip Surface Roughness

  • This paper investigates the correlation between strip surface roughness and the surface of the work roll. As the actual temper mill(TM) is used, this data will be adopted to another actual temper mill for the application and operation of this experiment. Conclusions are as follows: Electro-discharge texturing(EDT) roll has homogeneous roughness distribution and shape, and also a sinuous peak surface and the life is 2 times longer than that of shot blast texturing(SBT) method. And the higher surface roughness of work roll, the more time is necessary at the EDT method. In the SBT method without the correlation of roughness, but impeller rotation speed with an uncontrollable peak count. The roughness of SBT roll is irregularity compared to that of EDT roll because the work roll roughness is transferred to the strip which was temper rolled, and produces a more desirable image and greater clarity to the color painted steel sheet.

  • Surface texturing of tribological application is another attractive technology of friction reducing. Also, reduction of friction is therefore considered to be a necessary requirement for improved efficiency of machine. In this paper attempts to investigate the effect of density for micro-scale dimple pattern on bearing steel flat mated with pin-on-disk. We demonstrated the lubrication mechanism for a Stribeck curve, which has a relationship between the friction coefficient and a dimensionless parameter for lubrication condition. It is found that friction coefficient is depended on the density of surface pattern. It was thus verified that micro-scale dimple could affect the friction reduction.Lubrication condition regime has an influence on the friction coefficient induced the density of micro dimple.

  • 우리 연구팀은 $SiO_2$ nanospheres를 이용한 natural lithography를 통해 2가지 방법으로 GaAs 기판의 반사율을 감소시켰다. 먼저 GaAs 기판 위에 benzocyclobutene(BCB) 고분자를 코팅한 후, 그 위에 $SiO_2$ nanospheres를 코팅한다. 그리고 고분자의 유리전이 온도이상으로 가열하면 $SiO_2$ nanospheres가 고분자 속으로 가라앉게 되어 렌즈 형태의 표면이 형성된다. 또한, 이 상태에서 BOE 용액을 통해 $SiO_2$ nanospheres를 제거하여 오목한 형태의 표면을 형성할 수 있다. 이러한 2가지 방법의 surface texturing을 통해 우리는 GaAs 표면의 반사도를 각각 400~800nm의 파장에서 평균 13.6%~16.52%의 반사율을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • This research surveys the threadline instability on the belt texturing machine according to the 1st heater temperature, draw ratio and velocity ratio. the threadline instability to the time, which is called surging phenomena, is analysed with variations of draw ratio and velocity ratio. In addiction, the surging phenomena is investigated with the variation of the untwisting tension and false twist mechanism on the belt texturing machine. The breaking strain, modulus and yam unevenness of the DTY along the yarn length are measured and analysed with the surging phenomena which is due to untwisting tension variation on the threadline according to the draw ratio, 1st heater temperature and velocity ratio.

  • False twist texturing uses the thermoplastic property of synthetic yarn and produces a bulk and a stretch by giving the filament a permanent crimp. This study investigated the effects of false twist texturing parameters, disk/yarn(D/Y) and heater temperature, on the physical properties of nylon textured yarn. D/Y was a primary determinant of twist numbers of filaments and was proportionally increased with the twist numbers of filaments, resulting in an increase of crimp rigidity of the textured yarn. Heater temperature, a determinant of the heat setting of transformed filaments, was proportionally increased with the increase of crimp rigidity. Nylon 6 was partially melted at $190^{\circ}C$. This study consequently suggested the optimal parameters of nylon 6 85d/68f full-dull POY.

  • An aluminum doped zinc oxide (AZO) film for front contacts of thin film solar cells, in this work, were deposited by r.f. magnetron sputtering, and then etched in diluted hydrochloric acid solution for different times. Effects of surface texturing on the electro-optical properties of AZO films were investigated. Also, to clarify the light trapping of textured AZO film, amorphous silicon thin film solar cells were fabricated on the textured AZO/glass substrate and the performance of solar cells were studied. After texturing, the spectral haze at the visible range of 400 ~750 nm increased substantially with the etching time, without a change in the resistivity. The conversion efficiency of amorphous Si solar cells with textured AZO film as a front electrode was improved by the increase of short-circuit current density ($J_{sc}$), compared to cell with flat AZO films.

  • We investigate anisotropic texturing method for crystalline silicon solar cells with sodium carbonate solutions. Texturing temperature have a large effect on the density of pyramid. The dependence of the surface reflectance on solution temperature and the etching time was investigated. The surface morphology was observed by scanning electron microscope and the surface reflectance was evaluated. The reflection from the silicon surface in the wavelength range 400 to 1000nm is reduced to about 12%.
