In this work, Aqueous sericin solution was prepared by degumming process with electrolytic reduction water. Then, the microfiltration and ultrafiltration systems were applied to the concentration of aqueous sericin solution. The objective of this study was to select the optimum operating condition among the different pressure. The permeate flux and rejection ratio were observed with time, pressure, flow rate and concentration. and, the wastewater and permeated water quality values such as pH, BOD, COD, and NH levels were measured. In order to see the influence of electrolytic reduction water, the flux of pure water and electrolytic reduction water by PVDF22(MF) and PS100(UF) membrane was measured. In microfiltration system, the relative flux reduction decreased rapidly to 0.02 in the 30min, as the concentration polarization and gel layer formation were increased. and then the sericin concentration rejection ratio was 40%. In ultrafiltration system, the permeate flux decreased with time and concentration, and increased with the operating pressure and flow rate. Optimal condition in PS100 membrane system for sericin concentration was operating pressure 1.464kgf/$cm^24, operating flow rate $7\ell/min at\; 40^{\circ}C$. At that time, sericin concentration rejection ratio was 83% respectably. The sericin solution was concentrated from 0.1wt% solution to 0.2 wt % solution during about 2 hrs by the UF filteration membrane system.
An alkalophilic microorganism capable of degrading dyes was developed for the treatment of alkaline dye solution. This strain was identified as Pseudomonas species. Using this microorganism, biological treatment of dye was studied in Erlenmeyer flasks. The characteristics of this microorganism were observed under various incubating-condition such as temperature, pH, nitrogen source, and macronutrients concentration. The removal effciencies of Disperse Red 60 from synthetic wastewater were 33.5 ~ 36.9% at the range of $30{\sim}40^{\circ}C$, and they were 31.1 ~ 36.7% at the range of initial pH 8 ~ pH 10, respectively. The optimal culture medium was found to be 0.25%(w/v) yeast extract, 0.25%(w/v) polypeptone, 0.1%(w/v) $KH_2PO_4$, 0.2%(w/v) $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, and 1.0%(w/v) $Na_2CO_3$. In treatment of various dyes using Erlenmeyer flasks, the removal effciencies of Disperse Blue 87, Disperse Yellow 64, Disperse Red 60, Acid Blue 193, Acid Red 138, and Direct Yellow 23 were found to be 76%, 71%, 58%, 93%, 94%, and 90% respectively after 24hrs reaction of alkalophilic strain Pseudomonas sp. The study describes the results of batch experiments on the removal of Reactive Yellow 15 (RY15) and Reactive Black 5 (RB5) from synthetic textile wastewater onto Activated Carbon from Walnut shell (ACW). The experimental data were analyzed by the Langmuir, Freundlish, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) models of adsorption. The experiments were carried out as function of initial concentrations, pH, temperature (303-333), adsorbent dose and kinetics. The surface area and pore volumes of adsorbent were measured by BET and BJH methods. The findings confirm the surface area (BET) is 248.99 $m^2/g$. The data fitted well with the Temkin and D-R isotherms for RY15 and RB5, respectively. The most favorable adsorption occurred in acidic pH. Pseudo-second order kinetic model were best in agreement with adsorption of RY15 and RB5 on ACW. The results indicate that walnut shell could be an alternative to more costly adsorbent currently being used for dyes removal.

In recent years, there has been an intensive research on decolorization of dye and textile wastewater by various fungal strains. In this study, the decolorization ability of three commercial dyes, acid yellow 99, acid blue 350, and acid red 114, were investigated using 10 fungal strains. Among the fungal strains tested, Trametes versicolor KCTC 16781 completely decolorized all dyes in both solid and liquid experiments, and was also able to decolorize the mixture of those three dyes in liquid experiments. The secretion of the ligninolytic enzymes into the extracellular medium during decolorization by T versicolor KCTC 16781 was also studied. No lignin peroxidase activity was detected, and manganese peroxidase and laccase activities were investigated.

Coagulation process using aluminum sulfate ($Al_2(SO_4)_3$) and ferric chloride ($FeCl_3$) was employed as a treatment method for decolorization of a synthetic textile wastewater containing red dye in this paper. Factors such as initial pH, coagulant dosage, initial concentration, conductivity and mixing conditions that influence color removal efficiency were experimentally tested. It was found that $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ is more efficient than $FeCl_3$ as coagulant. When $40mgL^{-1}$ aluminum sulfate was used, results showed that color induced by the red dye was efficiently removed (> 90 %) and was obtained in a large range of initial pH from 4 to 8 with, and for a dye concentration lower than $235mg\;L^{-1}$. After addition of the coagulant, the medium had to be mixed for 30 min at 60 rpm, then allowed to settle for 40 min. The effects of water conductivity in the range $0.035-2.42mS\;cm^{-1}$ and dye concentration up to $380mg\;L^{-1}$ were also followed and discussed.
The transport and recovery of Levafix brilliant red E-4BA and Levafix brilliant red E-6BA were investigated using polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fiber based supported liquid membrane containing tetra butyl ammonium bromide (TBAB) in coconut oil as a carrier. The influencing parameters studied are: pH of the feed solution, concentration of dye in the feed solution, extractant concentration, and various kind of stripping agent, rate of stirring, time of transport, reusability of membrane and stability of membrane. Increase in TBAB concentration inside the membrane enhances the flux with its maximum value at $1.553{\times}10^{-4}$ M TBAB. Further increase in the concentration of TBAB leads to decreased rate of transport due to increase in viscosity of membrane liquid. The optimum conditions for dye transport are: pH of feed ($7{\pm}0.1$), $1.553{\times}10^{-4}$ M extractant concentration, 350 rpm for stirring, $4.9{\times}10^{-1}$ M potassium hydrogen phthalate as a stripping solution, the time of transport 6 h. It was noticed that flux values were increased with increasing dye concentration in the feed phase. Applying this study to textile wastewater, dyes were transported up to 98% in 6 h. This recovery technique is rewarding to environment and economic.
In order to remove the pollutants effectively in the dye wastewater by chemical precipitation process, coagulation arid flocculation test were carried out using several coagulants on various reaction conditions. It was found that the Ferrous sulfate was the most effective coagulant for the removal of disperse dye(B79), and we could get the best result lot the removal of disperse dye(B56) in the aspects of TOC removal efficiency and sludge field. When the Ferrous sulfate dosage was $800mg/\ell$, the sludge settling velocity was very fast>, and the color was effectively removed in the disperse dye(B79) solution. Although the color removal was ineffective when the Alum was used as a coagulant, the sludge field was decreased in comparison with the Ferrous sulfate or the Ferric sulfate was used in the disperse dye(B56) solution. The general color removal effect for the disperse dye(B56 and B79) solutions, the Ferric sulfate was more proper coagulant than the Alum. It was showed that TOC removal was improved 5% and over by the addition of Calcium hydroxide, and $30mg/\ell$ of sludge yield was decreased(B79). When Alum or Ferric sulfate was used as a coagulant, pH condition for most effective color removal was 5 in B56 solution. In case of Ferrous sulfate as a coagulant, most effective pH condition for color removal was 9. When Ferric sulfate or Ferrous sulfate was used as a coagulant, pH condition for most effective color removal was 9 in B79 solution.
The adsorption ability of dyes on chitin, a natural polymer was investigated for decolorization of dye wastewater. Chitin was manufactured in lab by decalcification in dilute aqueous hydrochloric acid solution and deproteination in dilute aqueous sodium hydroxide solution with shrimp shells. Absorbance of residue solution of dyebaths after dye adsorptions of chtin were measured in varieties of dye concentration and dipping periods. Three kinds of Direct dyes -C.I. Direct Red 81 (red 81), C.I. Direct Brown l(brown 1) and C.I. Direct Green 26(green 26) - were used. Red 81 and brown 1 have smaller molecular weight than green 26. The results from experimentals were of]tamed as follows: 1) Adsorption of green 26 was improved in dyebath by addition of salt, but red 81 and brown 1 were not found any improvements. 2) Smaller size of chitin particles could be absorbed much more speedy. In this experiments, the smallest range of chitin particle size was $250\mu{m}$ and less. 3) The most efficient amount of chitin for 20m1 of dyebath was 0.2g, 4) Both of red 81 and brown 1 showed good and speedy adsorption abilities as dyestuffs of over 90 percent in just one minute in dyebath of 0.01% dye concentration. But green 26 was absorbed slowly because of its large molecular weight. It took 40minutes to absorb dyestuffs of over 90 percent in dyebath of 0.01% dye concentration.
The production of manganese peroxidase (MnP) by Irpex lacteus, purified to electrophoretic homogeneity by acetone precipitation, HiPrep Q and HiPrep Sephacryl S-200 chromatography, was shown to correlate with the decolorization of textile industry wastewater. The MnP was purified 11.0-fold, with an overall yield of $24.3\%$. The molecular mass of the native enzyme, as determined by gel filtration chromatography, was about 53 kDa. The enzyme was shown to have a molecular mass of 53.2 and 38.3 kDa on SDS-PAGE and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, respectively, and an isoelectric point of about 3.7. The enzyme was optimally active at pH 6.0 and between 30 and $40^{\circ}C$. The enzyme efficiently catalyzed the decolorization of various artificial dyes and oxidized Mn (II) to Mn (III) in the presence of $H_2O_2$. The absorption spectrum of the enzyme exhibited maxima at 407, 500, and 640 nm. The amino acid sequence of the three tryptic peptides was analyzed by ESI Q- TOF MS/MS spectrometry, and showed low similarity to those of the extracellular peroxidases of other white-rot basidiomycetes.

In recent years, rapid technological advances in the textile and dyeing industry have yielded benefits to society but have also generated new and significant environmental problems. The treatment alternatives applicable for the removal of color vary, depending upon the type of dye wastewater Advanced oxidation processes are considered to provide more permanent merits. One of these oxidation treatments attracting much attention is photocatalytic oxidation, which uses TiO$_2$ due to its non-toxic, insoluble liquid as well as a highly reactive nature under UV irradiation. This study sets out to demonstrate the effect of photocatalyst dosage, dye concentrations, pH and light intensity on color removal efficiency under aerobic conditions. The results of this study show Rhodamine B(RhB) was not decolorized when a dye solution was exposed only to air or treated by TiO$_2$ only In the presence of both TiO$_2$ and UV light, however, the presence of RhB decreased up to 95 % within 60minutes. The more addition TiO$_2$ and the more diluted dye solution, showed a higher removal rate.
