Until now, there were few supports on reading the mathematical expressions except text based expressions, so it is important to provide the reading of the mathematical expressions. Also, there are various of obstacles for people who are not visually impaired when reading the mathematical expressions such as the situation of presbyopia, reading the mathematical expressions in the vehicles, and so on. Therefore, supports for people to read mathematical expressions in various situations are needed. In the previous research, the main goal was to transform the mathematical expressions into Korean text based on Content MathML. In this paper, we expanded the range of the research from a reading disabilities to people who are not reading disabilities. We tested appropriacy of the rules we made to convert the MathML based expressions into speech and defined 3 math-to-speech rules in korean based on levels. We implemented the mathematical expressions by using 3 math-to-speech rules. We took comprehension test to find out whether our math to speech rules are well-defined or not.

In the age of information, newly produced knowledge is mostly written in English. Therefore, there has been a strong demand for English language learning in the EFL context. However, most EFL learners possess a lack of interest and motivation in the text-based reading class. In this educational context, film is one of the most widely used materials in English reading classes considering that modern learners are predominantly familiar with various audiovisual materials. The purpose of this study is to investigate how Korean EFL learners experienced in the film-based reading class. Specifically, this study aims to analyze the EFL students' perceptions about the class and learning strategies that they used during the class. In order to comprehensively interpret the EFL learners' experiences in the classroom, a coding system consisting of five categories was developed: report, emotion, reflection, evaluation, future plans. The results of data analysis showed that the use of movies in English reading classes had positive effects on reading comprehension and inference of word meaning. The most frequently used learning strategies were affective strategies which helped them control their emotion, attitude, motivations and values, whereas memorization strategies were rarely used. In this respect, this study suggests that the use of movies in the EFL reading classroom encourage students' attention and help them obtain and activate schema which is useful in gaining a better understanding of text-based reading materials.

Many people get plenty of information from World Wide Web, and the study of the factors that affect on reading task on web browser is presenting important issue. But domestic studies on legibility of Korean on web environment were relatively poor and the study about suitable text layout for skimming wasn't carried out also. At this point, this study was performed to investigate the effects of two types of reading, three levels of line length, and three levels of interlinear spacing on comprehension and reading rate when subjects read the materials on web browser. Reading speed, error rate, subjective preference and SACL(Stress and Arousal Checklist) evaluation were measured to evaluate the effects. Eighteen volunteer subjects participated in eighteen web document sessions with two different reading types, three different line lengths, and three different interlinear spacings. Statistical results from objective and subjective evaluations indicate that 50 characters per line of line length and 100 percents of interlinear spacing improved reading rate, overall error rates were reduced when reading normally, and SACL measures were increased at fast reading type. Consequently, in order to design text layout to retrieve information in WWW environment effectively, just applying guidelines of traditional printed material is not proper. Therefore, it is effective to consider reading type, line length, and interlinear spacing. Implications of these results and suggestions for the further study are also addressed.

The purpose of this study is to improve the writing skills through activities to read and summarize the internet children newspaper article. The subjects of study are the college students of A2-B1 level in the French writing classes. The range of study was as follows: - As the previous activity of writing, activities of teaching and learning of vocabularies to comprehend the internet children newspaper article. - learn about the rules of summary - writing the summary The children's newspaper used in this study has the advantage that can increase the learning motivation of learners as having a topicality by itself and a level of easy language. The summary activities can be called a comprehensive activities of teaching and learning that combine the critical reading ability that can distinguish important information and secondary one with the creative writing ablility that can reconstruct one's own style from the selected content. In addition, the summary assists the understanding of a text and is a help to its memory. It is the strategy of reading comprehension and also is simultaneously the strategy of writing that can write with one's own vocabulary by newly structuring the text. The results of this study will provide a vitality for the education environment and field of study of French language that have been neglected the writing ability. Moreover it will be the motivation to propose a way of a balanced French language communication to our French language learners weighted on oral communication.

This study explores the sneakerhead subculture through the lens of subcultural capital, primarily focusing on online community interactions. The analysis utilizes text mining techniques and netnographic research methods to examine textual data extracted from the online sneakerhead community and aims to elucidate manifestations of subcultural capital within the subculture. The findings underscore several key points: Firstly, shared experiences cultivated by the collective consciousness of subcultural capital foster solidarity among members. Secondly, ongoing validation of authenticity and comprehension of sneakers' cultural significance are member requirements. Subsequently, exhibiting greater levels of subcultural capital empowers members, resulting in hierarchical structures both within and beyond the community. Fourthly, resale-driven sneaker commercialization yields positive outcomes, including individual profit and cultural expansion, yet also brings negative consequences, such as market distortion and intra-community conflict. Lastly, the online community fills a pivotal role in dictating subcultural trends, effectively functioning as an institutional network. Given sneakers' enduring status as a fashion phenomenon, further examination of in this realm is warranted.

언어 작업기억과 시공간 작업기억이 아동의 글 이해에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 정상 아동과 읽기 지진아동들에게 두 개의 연구를 실시하였다. 연구 1에서는 글의 유형(설명글과 묘사글)별로 글 이해 정도와 언어작업기억과 시공간 잡기장 용량을 측정하여, 정상아동과 읽기 지진 아동 간에 차이가 있는지 알아보았다. 연구 2에서는 글 유형과 2차 기억과제와의 간섭효과를 측정하여 보다 직접적으로 글 유형에 따라 관여하는 작업기억의 종류가 다를 수 있는지를 알아보았다. 두 연구에서 읽기지진 아동은 묘사글을 읽을 때 시공간 작업기억을 사용하는 것을 밝혀내었다.

최근 언어 모델은 분류, 기계 독해, 생성 등의 태스크에서 성공적인 결과를 보여주고 있다. 본 논문에서는 최근 많은 관심을 받고 있는 인코더-디코더 구조의 언어 모델인 BART, T5 그리고 PALM을 위키피디아 한국어 데이터 집합으로 사전 학습한 후 기계 독해와 문서 생성 요약 태스크에 대하여 미세 조정을 하고 성능 비교를 한다.

The present research inverstigates the nature of contextual effects on pronoun reference resolution during text comprehesion.Through three experiments,this research examines how various contextuall informations influence on reference resolution and interact with syntactic variables.In experiment 1,the local context was controlled by biasing the pronoun-sentence context towards a certain preceding referent.The lexical decision time and the forced choice time for the correct referent were measured.The results showed that the local contexts have clear effect on reference resolution.The effects of syntactic ambiguity were also observed though the local context was biased towards a certain referent noun.In experiment 2,the global context effect was examined by introducing the text-thematic context in a preceding sentence while keeping the following pronoun-sentence context neutral.The results showed that the global thematic context bias towards a subject or object in a preceding sentence entails a faster response time than the thematically neutral context.In experiment 3,another aspects of context effects were inverstigated by manipulating the consistency of the preceding thematic context with the following pronoun-sentence context.The results showed that the lexical decision responses and forced referent choice responses were faster when the prethematic context and the post-anaphoric context match than when they mismatch.In sum,the overall results of three experiments of this research indicates that context has a clear effect on pronoun reference resolution during text comprehension.

This study tried to suggest the development of a writing education model for Christian Universities based on both Hobbs' media education model and Vanhoozer's media text analysis model. This model consists of 6 steps- Christian worldview establishment, access, analysis and evaluation, creation, reflection and social action. This was developed in order to be applied for the class "reading and writing" of liberal arts. Also, this is an appropriate model for media text writing education aiming at an alternative creation activity through a critical comprehension of the complex texts consisting of sounds, images, letters and so on. Furthermore, this is designed to train the capable persons having intelligence, character, and spirituality balanced, whom the education of Chrisitian universities aims at. Finally, this model pursues the student-friendly and amalgamative text writing appropriate for a new era and has an advantage to raise the power of various forms of letter writing which all the universities should stress as well.

Educational learning methods that take advantage of a robot provide opportunities for students to develop high dimensional thinking, a creative expression and discovery learning opportunity. It is also perceived as a suitable tool for STEAM systems which can be used in a variety of school curriculums. Therefore we designed and developed STEAM educational contents using robots in this study. This study analyze elementary text books and design the convergence contents from various subjects such as math, science, engineering and art through a robot. This study has developed educational materials by making a robot based on the designed contents. They have been applied to after school materials and then evaluated for comprehension, interest and participation. The results of this study have shown very encouraging evaluations from participating students. Accordingly, this study has shown that STEAM contents that take advantage of a robot have improved student participation, interests, and comprehension in the curriculums. Additionally, integrating STEAM educational content has proved more effective in contrast to being separated.
