Urinalysis is considered to be easier and simpler than other tests. It has been known to cause no burden to patients, while offering important information on diagnosing, treating, and determining the prognoses of kidney and urinary tract diseases. Urinary sediments are usually performed by microscopic examination of centrifuged urine by technologist. The guidelines proposed by the Korean Association of External Quality Assessment Service are actually different from those actually practiced by medical institutions and taught to biomedical students in textbooks. Therefore, we verified whether different sediment preparation methods lead different test results. Specimens that tested positive from the occult blood and leukocyte esterase in the urine dipstick test were randomly selected for a microscopic examination. The differences in the urine sediment preparation affected the sediment concentrations, which influenced the cell grade and cell number per HPF. The first factor in determining the sediment concentration is the centrifugal force. Many medical institutions use 1,500 rpm as the centrifugal speed without considering the radius of the centrifuge; such a value may not be accurate for 400 G. Consequently, there were differences in urine concentrations, which influenced the results. The second factor is the amount of sediment in urine. Different amounts of the remaining supernatant led to different sediment concentration factors, again, causing different results. Furthermore, not only by using a pipette to obtain an accurate amount as stipulated, but also by roughly obtaining a drop, the microscopic examination using such a volume of sediment examined affected the results. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of standardization of urine sediment preparation procedures to promote consistency and accuracy across institutions.
A 7-year-old castrated male Korean Shorthair cat was referred with lethargy and anorexia. Laboratory examination revealed moderate degenerative changes of peripheral neutrophils on blood smear examination and decreased levels of free and total thyroxine ($T_4$) as well as bacterial growth on blood culture. Molecular analyses of the 16S ribosomal RNA gene and heat shock protein 60 gene confirmed the bacterium as Enterobacter cloacae. A minimal inhibitory concentration test showed multidrug resistance of the bacterium against 16 antibiotics. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and subsequent sequencing specifically for $bla_{TEM}$, $bla_{SHV}$, $bla_{CTX-M}$, and plasmid-mediated ampC genes revealed positive results to $bla_{TEM-1}$, $bla_{CTX-M-15}$, and plasmid-mediated $bla_{ACT-1}$ genes, indicating that the isolated bacterium contains plasmids containing genes encoding extended-spectrum beta-lactamase and plasmid-mediated ampC beta-lactamase. After 1 month of treatment with antibiotics and levothyroxine, the cat's condition improved; both the thyroid function test and the blood culture showed no abnormalities. This is the first report of community-acquired multidrug-resistant E. cloacae-induced euthyroid sick syndrome in a cat. By the prompt diagnostic procedures and properly selected antibiotic therapy, the cat was recovered from the multidrug-resistant bacterium-induced septicaemia.

As a typical construction material, concrete has been used in building all kinds of structures since the late $19^{th}$ century. Although it was recognized to secure durability as long as the regulations on design and construction have been reasonably complied, the trends of life-shortening and deterioration have frequently occurred due to all kinds of the external effects that have been experienced during the procedures of using the structures. To make matters even worse, deterioration of the concrete structures according to deterioration can not be controlled any more. Finally, the reality is that repair and maintenance are necessary in the maintenance aspect of the concrete structure. In this study, CRM(Chemical Resistance of Laminating Reinforcement Method), which had been developed to reinforce the surface of concrete and specially improve chemical resistance performance, has been applied to enhance the existing repairing and maintenance method. Therefore, the result has been drawn with comparison and analysis of the specimens applied with the general repairing and maintenance method and CRM through a variety of durability test in this study. With the result of the test, durability of the specimen applied with CRM has been more improved than the existing repairing and maintenance method, which is judged as because of the laminating effect due to reinforcement of epoxy impregnated of alkali-resistance fiber and double layered fiber reinforced seat.
This research is a descriptive investigation research in order to understand the influences on the perception of the patient safety culture and safey nursing activity with the clinical nurses of the university hospitals as the subjects. The data collected were analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program. As a result, the perception of patient safety culture of the subjects was 3.30 of the full score of 5points, and safety nursing activity 3.89. It appeared that, also, in the safety nursing activity, the total career experience, the position, immediately superior/manager, the communication procedures, and the frequency of accident reports receive the influences. As a result, in order to enhance the safety nursing activity, the developments of the practice guidelines that can appropriately manage the experienced people, that can communicate smoothly between the organizations, and that can make the case reports and the developments of the educational programs are needed.
KOSDAQ market reorganized their division system from two types to four types of division departments such as blue chip, venture, medium, and technology development departments in 2011. However, under the current new division system, financially unhealthy firms attempting to take advantage of the classifying opportunity of blue chip department are likely to engage in pernicious earnings management. The objective of this study is to investigate the earnings management behavior surrounding the time of KOSDAQ firms entering the blue chip department via new division system. More specifically, we test whether the firms classified blue chip department tend to engage in upward earnings management using accruals and real activities before and after they achieve blue chip status. In this study, we analyzed 111 firms classified blue chip department in 2011 according to new division system in KOSDAQ market. Major test results indicate that firms entering the blue chip department according to current KOSDAQ division system in general, tend to inflate reported earnings by means both of accruals and real activities right before the entering year. This result suggests that the firms classified blue chip department engage in opportunistic earnings management with a view to uplifting their market values. Our study is expected to provide clues useful for searching policy directions which intend to ameliorate adverse side effects of the current KOSDAQ division system. In sum, the regulatory authorities and enforcement bodies need to exercise caution in deliberating more stringent review procedures so that financially healthy and promising candidates are properly segregated from their poor and risky counterparts, thus enhancing the beneficial effects, while mitigating adverse side effects of the system.

There are various types of disasters now, and accordingly it is practically difficult to manage all types of disasters effectively. If we are able to reconstruct the disaster event and investigate the cause, it may be possible to prepare the recurrence of similar patterns of disasters. The vehicle-based system equipped with state-of-the-art sensors has been proposed in order to reconstruct the disaster site as much as possible and help the disaster investigator to analyze the cause of the disaster by providing high-quality information. However, the data quality obtained from the sensors can be lowered due to unpredictable circumstances of disaster site. In this aspect it is essential to provide practical procedures that assess and analyze the performance of the equipment on site. In this paper, we selected critical elements of performance that can evaluate the vehicle-based image acquisition system, since it is the most critical piece of information in the disaster sites. The quality of the images obtained from vehicle-based image system was analyzed and verified on the test site. From the results of spatial resolution based on GRD(Ground Resolved Distance), we were able to identify maximum 5mm of spatial resolution at a distance of 70m distance. The result of field test is expected to be used for data acquisition plan in future disaster situations.
The purpose of this study was to examine what factors affected patients who suffered from essential hypertension compliance with health behaviors, to help build a successful strategy to step up their compliance with health behaviors, and to seek effective ways to implement health education programs for patients with chronic disease. The subjects in this study were 60 people selected from among the patients who were diagnosed by physicians as having essential hypertension in S General Hospital in the city of P from April 10 through July 30, 2000, after health education was provided four times a month. The quasi- experimental design based on a control group pretest-posttest design was employed. The subjects were divided into three groups of 20 patients each: one was an experimental group to receive education in one-to-one interview, another was an experimental group to receive education as a group, and the third was a control group. The two experimental groups learned the same material through different methods, and the control group was given the same teaching materials and asked to comply with health behaviors on their own without instruction. After the three-week education was implemented in different ways, their compliance with health behaviors was measured. Collected data was analyzed by t-test, paired test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis and regression analysis procedures. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. Concerning the effective type of health education, the group education produced the best results, followed by the one-to-one interviews and the sole use of print media. 2. Regarding the effect of compliance with health behaviors, the group- educated group got the highest score in compliance with health behaviors, but blood pressure lowered more significantly in the individual interview group. And the compliance with health behaviors had a significant negative correlational relationship with both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. 3. Parameter that had most significant correlational relationship with compliance with health behaviors was health locus of control, followed by self-efficacy and health perception. But there was no significant correlational relationship between compliance with health behaviors and knowledge of hypertension. 4. As a result of analyzing the impact of knowledge of hypertension, health locus of control, self-efficacy and health perception on compliance with health behaviors, self-efficacy was found to exercise most influence. Above-mentioned findings suggested that group education or one- to-one discussion would be more effective for health care for hypertension in koreans, as they could serve to have patients realize their own responsibility for health and to motivate their compliance with health behaviors, and there was a need to more positively utilize educational intervention for patients with chronic diseases, which could elevate not only compliance with health behaviors but self-efficacy.

A study on the green ship design for Ultra Large Container Ship (ULCS, 18,000 TEU Class Container Ship) was performed based on the four step procedures of the initial design and hull form optimization to maximize economic and propulsive performance. The first, the design procedure for ULCS was surveyed with economic evaluation considering environmental rules and regulations. The second, the characteristics of single and twin skeg container ships were investigated in view of initial design and performances. The third, the hull form optimization for single and twin skeg ships with the same dimensions was conducted to improve the resistance and propulsive performances at design draught and speed by several variations and the results of the optimization were verified by numerical calculations of CFD and model test. The last, for the estimated operating profile of draught and speed, the hull forms of single and twin sked ships were optimized by CFD. From this study, the methodologies to optimize the hull form of ULCS were proposed with considerations during the green ship design and the improvement of the energy efficiency for the optimized hull forms was confirmed by the proposed formula of the total energy considering design conditions, operating profile and fuel oil consumption.
The paper describes the comparison between observed and predicted stress-strain characteristics of marine silty clay in Dangjin district. For prediction, the hyperbolic model which is applied the parameters acquiring by physical and triaxial compression test was adopted, and the obtained results were summarized as follows: 1. The Young's modulus were increased with decreasing of moisture contents and increasing of dry density. 2. The most affective factor to hyperbolic model is lateral stress and dry density. and than cohesion and internal friction angle. 3. The comparision between the statistical and hyperbolic values of maximum deviator stress have few accordance. and the statisticals is lower than the hyperbolics. 4. Without. much labor and tiresome procedures, effective computer program was made and applied, but technical procedure for prevents test errors of parameter calculation is importants.

As a part of the first stage in the helicopter flight simulator development, this study numerically evaluates handling qualities of the dynamics model. The flight dynamics model was generated using public information for AS365 N2, the target aircraft of the simulator. The flight simulator is under development as a pilot training and research tool for firefighting missions. The assessment of the model intends to validate general characteristics and suitability before the model is enhanced with flight test data. The evaluation is based on the ADS-33E-PRF(Aeroautical Design Standard Performance Specification Handling Qualities Requirement) criteria, with consideration of category of the aircraft, missions, and environment. The numerical operations follow required or recommended procedures of flight test for compliance demonstration. Evaluation results are evaluated according to the rating specified in maneuverability ADS-33E-PRF. Results have identified to provide a satisfactory platform for flight dynamic model in the general helicopter simulator generated based on the RotorLibFDM, and can be used as a base for basic training and research.
