In this paper, we propose two selection procedures for selecting populations better than a control population. The bestness is defined in terms of location parameter. One of the procedures is based on two-sample linear rank statistics whereas the other one is based on a comparatively simple statistic, and is useful when testing time is expensive so that an early termination of an experiment is desirable. The proposed selection procedures are seen to be strongly monotone. Performance of the proposed procedures is assessed through simulation study.

Ethernet PON(Passive Optical Network)은 최근 들어 활발하게 연구되고 있는 경제적이고 효율적인 가입자망 구조이다. 본 논문에서는 OPNET 시뮬레이션 도구를 사용하여 Ethernet PON 시뮬레이션 모델을 구현하고, 시뮬레이션 한다. OLT(Optical Line Termination)에 연결되는 ONU(Optical Network Unit)의 개수, 트래픽 및 네트워크 파라미터에 대한 ONU의 버퍼 크기(buffer size)를 분석하고, 이 결과로서 실제 네트워크에 적용할 효율적이고 적정한 ONU의 버퍼 크기를 제안한다.

Ethernet PON(Passive Optical Network)은 지금까지 연구되고 있는 가입자 망 가운데 인터넷 트래픽에 가장 적합한 모델이다. 본 논문에서는 Ethernet PON의 성능분석을 위해서 OPNET을 이용하여 Ethernet PON 시뮬레이션 모델을 설계 및 구현한다 또한, 이 모델에 대한 End to end Ethernet delay, Queuing delay, Throughput과 Utilization 분석을 통해서 하나의 OLT(Optical Line Termination)가 수용 할 수 있는 최적의 ONU(Optical Network Unit) 개수를 산정하고 Ethernet PON을 설치할 때 망의 효율을 극대화하는 방안을 제안한다.

Ko(1998, 1999) proposed certain flexible two-stage plans that could be served as one-step interim analysis in on-going clinical trials. The proposed Plans are optimal simultaneously in both a Bayes and a Neyman-Pearson sense. The Neyman-Pearson interpretation is that average expected sample size is being minimized, subject just to the two overall error rates $\alpha$ and $\beta$, respectively of first and second kind. The Bayes interpretation is that Bayes risk, involving both sampling cost and wrong decision losses, is being minimized. An example of this correspondence are given by using a binomial setting.

Reliability estimation using Gibbs sampler considered for modeling mixture exponential reliability problems. Gibbs sampler is developed to compute the features of the posterior distribution. Bayesian estimation of complicated functions requires simpler esti-mation techniques due to the mathematical difficulties involved in the Bayes approach. The Maximum likelihood estimator and the Gibbs estimator of reliability of the system are derived. By simula-tion risk behaviors of derived estimators are compared. model de-termination based on relative error is considered. A numerical study with a simulated data set is provided.

We assume that the existence and termination conjecture for flips holds. A complex projective manifold is said to be of almost general type if the intersection number of the canonical divisor with every very general curve is strictly positive. Let f be an algebraic fiber space from X to Y. Then the manifold X is of almost general type if every very general fiber F and the base space Y of f are of almost general type.

The alkaline dissolution behavior of sea-island type polyarnide microfibers were successfully monitored using a cationic dye staining method. Weight reduction behavior of the alkali-treated microfiber fabrics and the treated fabrics stained with cationic dye were investigated in a comparative manner. The termination of dissolution monitored by both methods was also confirmed by scanning electron microscopy.

The output characteristics of HF and DF lasers were compared theoretically. The simulation code shows the good agreement with the experimental results well. As results, the effect of chain termination reaction in $F_2$ rich mixture is larger than that of $SF_6$ rich mixture in HF and DF lasers.
