Since the term, 'scientific literacy' was introduced by P. D. Hurd in 1958, it has been used as a term, representing major goals in science education. In Korea, the term 'scientific literacy' was used in the statement of the summative objective of the 2007 science reformed curriculum. But in various educational contexts m which teachers and researchers works, the definition of the term has not been used consistently. This phenomena would be interpreted as showing limits of the term describing the goals of science education. This study examined the historical change in the meaning of the term in purpose of trying to anchor the definition. In this study, the changing period was divided into before introducing the term and after. The after era was divided into the period of confusing and anchoring in the meaning, and the period of expanding the meaning. Especially, after science as intellectual ability was conceptualized in science education communities, the meaning of scientific literacy was partially confused. In current time, as the concepts of language in cognitive science influenced the use of language in science education, the trends of expending the meaning of scientific literacy has been grasped in science education community.

Objectives : This study was to analyze the definitions of herbs, herbal drugs, crude drugs and natural products in the relevant laws and regulations, understand the related problems, and propose directions for improvement. Methods : I analyzed the legal definitions in respect of herbs, herbal drugs, crude drugs and natural products in relevant laws and regulations since 1945, explained the problems, and suggested the solution-considering the academic stance of Traditional Korean Medicine and the dualistic medical and pharmaceutical system. Results : Herbs are defined as "refined things that are cut and dried in their most original state". The definition of crude drugs includes herbs and the "cell contents, secretion, extracts, minerals and other parts of animals and plants that are used medicinally". The concept of natural products is expanded to adding tissue cultures to the definition of crude drugs. Conclusions : The definition of herbs should at least include all products that are "processed, extracted and prepared" as well as contents that consist of various forms of hospital-prepared herbs. The term "herbal drug" corresponds to a traditional term of "drug", and this should be established as a concept to explain "drugs in raw materials that are used to prepare herbs and/or manufacture herbal medicine". The legal definition of herbs should include the concept of crude drugs. Herbal drug preparations and crude drugs should be included in the definition of herbal drugs.

Objective : The purpose of study is to define the term Dong(動) in diagnosis view. Method : To define term Dong(動), I refer to Korean, Chinese, Japanese dictionary and Todo Yoshimasu (吉益東洞)'s writing, Yakucho(藥徵) Houkyoku(方極). Next, I search for the diagnosis definition of Dong(動) in 11 case reports. Results : The diagnosis definitions of Dong(動) are two meanings. One is objective symptoms which are doctor can examine, trembling, movement, etc. The other is subjective symptoms which are patient's feeling, emotional problems, etc. It seperates 6 meanings concretely. Conclusions: (1) visible moving of a focus, (2) movement of a focus, (3) appearance of abnormal secretion, (4) abnormal change of focus, (5) feel like moving, (6) change of emotion beyond patient's control. 1~4 are objective symptoms which are doctor can examine, and 5~6 are subjective symptoms which are patient's feeling.

본 연구에서는 웹 검색 이용자들의 전반적인 검색 행태를 이해하기 위하여 국내에서 널리 사용되고 있는 웹 검색 서비스 네이버에서 생성된 검색 트랜잭션 로그를 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 웹 검색 트랜잭션 로그 분석에 필요한 세션 정의 방법을 설명하고 로그 정제 및 질의 유형 분류방법을 제시하였으며, 한글 검색 트랜잭션 로그 분석에 필수절인 검색어 정의 방법을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 보다 효과적인 국내 웹 검색 시스템 개발과 서비스 구축에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the legal definition and usage of cultural property term related to the architecture within the cultural property-related legal system and general legal system, and to present proper terminology and specific concepts that can be used for the architecture as cultural properties. In the current cultural property legislative system, terms about the architecture are diverse and obscure, and the definition of each term is different from the concept in the general legal system. In this context, this study presented the terminology of 'the architectural heritage' as 'a cultural property by construction act' to cover whole cultural properties related to Korean architecture. And the conceptual scope of the architectural heritage is divided into the technology and the performer related to the act, the record and the building related to the product. and Each concept needs to be specifically tailored to its object and scope. Systematic definition of terms for cultural properties related the architecture can positively influence systematization of cultural property preservation and management as well as empirical research and education on Korean architecture.

Objectives Although the word Zheng (證) is widely used basic term in nowaday's East Asian traditional medicine, it's definition can't be found in ancient texts before 20th century, and the history in which that term got general meaning in public, have not been clearly introduced. So the present author show the way Zheng confirm it's modern implication. Methods To search the books that contain any contents on Zheng's definition, the author mainly used the electronic texts of Super Star Reader (超星閱讀器). To search modern study article on Zheng's definition, the author used China National Knowledge Infrastructure (www.cnki.net). Results The present study shows that : although Treatments according to disease Pattern Identification (辨證施治) have been prominent treatment modality in East Asian traditional medicine, the general definition of disease Pattern (證) was given in late 20th century. Especially from 1955 to 1965, some major scholars like Ren Ying Qiu (任應秋), Zhu Yan (朱顔), Qin Bo Wei (秦伯未) and Jiang Jian Fu (蔣見復) did important roles in it's concept creation. Conclusions Modern concept of Zheng (證) was defined in late 20th century.

This article intends to review what problems the terms in calculus have and how those problems are caused. For this purpose We make examinations on the considerations in the analysis of mathematical terminology, which includes the problems of general and technical terms, the meaning and the boundary of words, their consistency, the name and meaning, concept and their concept images, translations and qwerty effects. And in chapter 3, We analyse the textbook which are currently used, through which I was able to find out that the terms in calculus have some problems, In other words, the key terms such as "differentiable", "differential coefficient", "differential" have their roots in the term "differential" but the term "derived function" is very distinct from other terms and thus obstructs the consistency of terms. And the central term "differential" is being used without clear definition. In particular, the fact that "differential", when used in its arbitrary definition, has the image of "splitting minutely" can be an obstacle to understanding the exact concepts of calculus. In chapter 4, We make a review on the history of calculus and the term "differential" currently used in modern mathematics so that I can identify the origin of the problem connected with the usage of the term "differential". We should recognize the specified problems and its causes and keep their instructional implications in mind. Furthermore, following researches and discussions should be made on whether the terminology system of calculus should be reestablished and how the reestablishment should be made.e terminology system of calculus should be reestablished and how the reestablishment should be made.

특정 주제영역의 시소러스에 수록되는 디스크립의 의미 범위를 한정하고, 개념의 본질적인 속성을 제공하기 위해 정의를 도입하고, 정의를 구성하는 데이터요소를 정의모델에 따라 분석한 후, 이를 시소러스 관계구조로 표현하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 한국산업규격(KS)의 정보산업분야에 수록된 용어정의 327개를 정의규칙과 정의모델에 따라 분석한 다음, 각 속성을 디스크립터의 관계구조로 표현한 시소러스를 실험적으로 구현하였다. 지금까지 시소러스 구축시 개발주체의 성격에 따라 디스크립터 수록범위와 관계구조의 설정을 달리해 왔다. 용어의 정의를 시소러스 구조에 도입하게 되면 각 디스크립터의 의미범위를 한정할 수 있고, 동시에 정의에 사용된 용어간의 의미관계를 디스크립터 관계고조로 표현할 수 있어, 의미범위와 관계구조의 표준화 가능성을 기대할 수 있다.

In recent offshore industries, various ambiguous terms have been used without clear definition or classification, causing difficulties in legal, technical, and educational understanding and usage. For an example, the commonly used term of 'Offshore Plant' in Korea is not an universal word technically. There has been no clear technical or legal definition about the 'Offshore Plant' and its classification is also very ambiguous; sometimes it is used to refer offshore oil and gas production platform or it is used to mean offshore renewable power generation plant in some cases. To build a conceptual framework, therefore, this paper suggests a classification of offshore units (1) using internationally agreed terms, (2) agreed with the technical classification used by the ship classification society and (3) being able to include not only the current but also future concepts of offshore units.

A computer aided flatness calibration system has been developed. Rectangular grids based measurement procedure is proposed with closing error technique. giving advantages over conventional diagonal measurement procedures (‘Union Jack’). A new analysis technique has been developed for flatness evaluation called ‘ETT(Enclose Tilt technique)’, enabling minimum separation definition which is acknowledged as standard term for flatness definition. Practical assessment shows the performance of the developed system.
