한지사 혼용직물의 접착심 접착 후 역학적 물성 변화 (Changes of Physical Properties of Hanji Yarn Blended Fabrics after Fusing)

  • We selected 100% cotton fabric, 100% Hanji yarn fabric and two kinds of cotton / Hanji yarn blended fabrics and fused them with three kinds of interlinings in order to examine changes to the physical properties and the post-adhesion physical properties of Hanji yarn blended fabrics. Changes in KES values were examined after fusing. First, EM, B, 2HB, MMD values of Hanji yarn blended fabrics were higher than cotton fabric, and LT, RT, G, 2HG, LC, WC values of cotton fabric were higher than Hanji yarn blended fabrics. Tensile recovery was lowered, bending stiffness was increased, and shear stiffness was lowered when Hanji yarn was mixed. Second, the KES value of LT, B, 2HB, G, 2HG, LC, WC increased after fusing, while the EM, MMD values decreased. SMD was shown to decrease or increase depending on the type of fabric. The adhesive effect on bending stiffness and shear stiffness due to the mixing of Hanji shows a different tendency in the comparison of αB and αG.

강한 인장 상태에서의 계류 체인 링크의 휨 거동 (Bending Behavior of the Mooring Chain Links Subjected to High Tensile Forces)

  • 본 연구는 부유식 구조물의 위치 제어를 위한 계류 체인 링크의 휨 거동에 대해 다룬다. 일반적으로 체인 구조는 링크 간 연결조건에 따라 축력만 전달하는 구조체로 인식되었다. 그러나 체인에 강한 인장력이 작용할 때, 접촉하는 두 링크 간의 마찰력에 의해 휨 강성이 도입되게 된다. 특히, 부유식 플랫폼의 계류선은 강한 인장력이 유지되는데, 물리적으로는 긴장 상태에 있는 체인 링크 간 접촉면에 마찰특성에 의해 휨 강성이 도입되면 환경하중을 받는 플랫폼에 회전 운동이 발생할 때, 계류선에도 회전 변위를 일으키고 이는 결과적으로 설계 시 고려하지 못한 휨모멘트 및 휨응력이 체인에 작용하게 된다. 실제 2005년 Girrasol Buoy 플랫폼의 해상 설치 후 5개월 만에 파손된 계류 체인의 사고 조사 시 주요 원인으로 이러한 휨 거동에 의한 부가 피로손상 누적이 지적되었다. 본 연구에서는 비선형 유한요소해석을 통해 긴장상태에 있는 체인에 도입되는 휨 강성 및 휨 응력의 특성에 대해 분석한다.

유한 요소법을 이용한 나이에 따른 척추의 형상 및 구조변화의 효과 (Age-related Geometric Effects on the Human Lumbar Spine by the Finite Element Method)

  • 나이에 의한 외부의 환경조건의 변화는 이에 적응하려는 척추의 구조적인 변화를 가져온다. 이러한 구조적인 변화는 척추의 biomechanical 거동에 영향을 미칠 것이다. 이러한 구조적인 변화의 효과를 연구하기 위하여, 나이에 의한 척추의 재료 및 기계적인 물성의 변화는 제외되었다. 유한요소법 (finite element method)에 의한 lumbar spine model (L3-L4)에 있어서, Annulus 의 유한요소 모델은 laminate composite elements로서 16개의 layer와 6개의 물성으로 구성되어있다. Spinal stiffness 와 facet reaction은 나이가 들수록 증가했다. 나이가 들수록 inner annulus의 fiber/layer tensile strains, cancellous bone stress 및 end-Plate stress는 감소했다. Fiber/layer compressive strains, facet reaction, ligament reaction and end-plate rigidity는 나이에 의한 척추의 구조적인 변화에 의하여 증가했다. 따라서 나이에 의한 척추의 정상적인 쇠퇴과정에 있어서 척추의 구조적인 변화는 spinal stiffness를 증가 시켜서 척추 및 disc의 지나친 변형을 감소시킬 것이다.

직물의 피노에 관한 연구 -착용에 의한 역학적 성질과 태의 변화- (A Study on the Fatigue Phenomena of Woven Fabrics -On the Changes of Mechanical Properties and Handle of Woven Fabrics Caused by the Wearing-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate fatigue phenomema of woven fabric. In order to obtain the basic data which is available for predicting the fabric fatigue phenomena, the change of mechanical properties of woven fabrics caused by the wearing and the changes of mechanical properties of woven fabrics which were subjected to repeated tensile-shearing deformation using fabric testing machine has been investigated and compared. The fatigue of woven fabrics was examined with the value of basic mechanical properties of specimens measured by the KES-F fabric testing system and their hand value and wearing ability. The results were as follows. 1) The fatigue phenomena of woven fabrics by the wearing for 800 hours are different on the position of the body: On the portion of hip, the change of surface property was the greatest, bending hysterisis was greatly increased, thickness weight, stiffness, fullness shearing hysterisis were more increased than original fabric and T.H.V. was decreased. On the portion of knee, decreasing of tensile resilience and increasing of bending, shearing hysterisis were observed greater than any other part, and increasing of stiffness, crispness was more than original fabric. On the bottom area, the changes of mechanical property was comparatively small, H.V. and T.H.V. showed near the value of the original fabric. 2) By drycleaning most of mechanical properties showed the tendency to recover the value of the original fabric, but bending hysterisis and thickess were increased, tensile and com-pression resilience were decreased more than original fabric in all parts. 3) The fatigue phenomena caused by fabric fatigue testing machine were as follows. The decreasing of hystersis in the repeated deformation such as bending, shearing was appeared at the $10^2$ deformation, but with the increasing cycle, the tendency was slightly regained. Handle value was also appeared the lowest value at the $10^2$ deformation.

Analytical model of corrosion-induced cracking of concrete considering the stiffness of reinforcement

  • The structural deterioration of concrete structures due to reinforcement corrosion is a major worldwide problem. Service life of the age-degraded concrete structures is governed by the protective action provided by the cover concrete against the susceptibility of the reinforcement to the corrosive environment. The corrosion of steel would result in the various corrosion products, which depending on the level of the oxidation may have much greater volume than the original iron that gets consumed by the process of corrosion. This volume expansion would be responsible for exerting the expansive radial pressure at the steel-concrete interface resulting in the development of hoop tensile stresses in the surrounding cover concrete. Once the maximum hoop tensile stress exceeds the tensile strength of the concrete, cracking of cover concrete would take place. The cracking begins at the steel-concrete interface and propagates outwards and eventually resulting in the through cracking of the cover concrete. The cover cracking would indicate the loss of the service life for the corrosion-affected structures. In the present paper, analytical models have been developed considering the residual strength of the cracked concrete and the stiffness provided by the combination of the reinforcement and expansive corrosion products. The problem is modeled as a boundary value problem and the governing equations are expressed in terms of the radial displacement. The analytical solutions are presented considering a simple 2-zone model for the cover concrete viz. cracked or uncracked. A sensitivity analysis has also been carried out to show the influence of the various parameters of the proposed models. The time to cover cracking is found to be function of initial material properties of the cover concrete and reinforcement plus corrosion products combine, type of rust products, rate of corrosion and the residual strength of the cover concrete. The calculated cracking times are correlated against the published experimental and analytical reference data.

탄소나노튜브로 강화된 에폭시 복합재료의 기계적 물성과 열팽창 계수 측정 (Measurement of Mechanical Property and Thermal Expansion Coefficient of Carbon-Nanotube-Reinforced Epoxy Composites)

  • 에폭시 수지에 다중벽 탄소나노튜브를 첨가하여 초음파 처리와 전단혼합 방법으로 분산시켜 다중벽 탄소나노튜브로 강화된 에폭시 복합재료를 제조하였으며, 에폭시 수지 내 다중벽 탄소나노튜브의 분산 적정성을 판단하고 기계적 및 열적 물성을 고찰하였다. 충전재 분산에 대한 평가를 위해 정성적인 방법으로 주사전자현미경(scanning electron microscope, SEM) 이미지를 사용하였고, 정량적인 판단을 위해 인장실험을 실시하였다. 또한, 열적 특성을 평가하기 위해 열팽창계수(coefficient of thermal expansion, CTE)를 측정하였다. 주사전자현미경 사진 및 인장 강도와 영률(Young's modulus)의 작은 편차를 통해서 다중벽 탄소나노튜브가 에폭시 수지 내에 적절히 분산되었음을 확인하였다. 충전재 함량에 따라 인장 강도와 영률이 증가함을 보였고 열팽창계수 측정에서는 열안정성 개선을 고찰하였다.

고강성 경량 MHEV 배터리 하우징 성형기술개발을 위한 섬유강화 플라스틱 발포 사출 시험편의 기계적 물성평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Mechanical Properties Evaluation of Fiber-reinforced Plastic Cellular Injection-molded Specimens for the Development of High-strength Lightweight MHEV Battery Housing Molding Technology)

  • The fiber-reinforced plastics and cellular injection molding process can be used to efficiently reduce the weight of battery housing components of mild hybrid electronic vehicles(MHEV) made of metal. However, the fiber orientation of fiber-reinforced plastics and the growth of foaming cells are intertwined during the injection molding process, so it is difficult to predict the mechanical properties of products in the design process. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the mechanical properties of the materials prior to the efficient stiffness design of the target product. In this study, a study was conducted to evaluated the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced cellular injection-molded specimens. Two types of fiber-reinforced plastics that can be used in the target product were evaluated for changes in tensile properties of cellular injection-molded specimens depending on the foaming ratio and position from the injection gate. The PP and PA66 specimens showed a decrease of tensile modulus and strength of approximately 30% and 17% depending on the foaming ratio, respectively. Also, the tensile strength decreased approximately 26% and 17% depending on the position from the injection gate, respectively. As a result, it was confirmed that the PP specimens have a significantly mechanical property degradation compared to the PA66 specimens depending on the foaming ratio and position.

FE modeling of inelastic behavior of reinforced high-strength concrete continuous beams

  • A finite element model for predicting the entire nonlinear behavior of reinforced high-strength concrete continuous beams is described. The model is based on the moment-curvature relations pre-generated through section analysis, and is formulated utilizing the Timoshenko beam theory. The validity of the model is verified with experimental results of a series of continuous high-strength concrete beam specimens. Some important aspects of behavior of the beams having different tensile reinforcement ratios are evaluated. In addition, a parametric study is carried out on continuous high-strength concrete beams with practical dimensions to examine the effect of tensile reinforcement on the degree of moment redistribution. The analysis shows that the tensile reinforcement in continuous high-strength concrete beams affects significantly the member behavior, namely, the flexural cracking stiffness, flexural ductility, neutral axis depth and redistribution of moments. It is also found that the relation between the tensile reinforcement ratios at critical negative and positive moment regions has great influence on the moment redistribution, while the importance of this factor is neglected in various codes.

섬유혼입률이 초고강도 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 인장연화거동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of fiber volume fraction on the tensile softening behavior of Ultra High Strength Steel Fiber-Reinforced Concrete)

  • 초고강도 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 역학특성은 높은 인장강도와 균열 이후의 높은 연성발현을 들 수있다. 본 연구에서는 섬유혼입률의 변화에 따른 초고강도 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 인장연화 특성을 시험적으로 규명하고, 시험결과를 토대로 FEM 해석을 통해 변형성능을 정확하게 추정할 수 있는 인장 연화모델을 구축하고자 하였다. 초고강도 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 인장거동은 강섬유의 혼입률에 관계없이 일정한 값의 초기강성을 나타내었으며, 강섬유의 혼입률이 증가할수록 초고강도 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 휨인장강도는 증가하고 연화거동은 취성적인 것으로 나타났다. 노치낸 보에 대한 3점 휨실험 결과를 토대로 초고강도 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 인장연화곡선을 얻기 위해 Uchida 등이 제안한 역해석법을 사용하였으며, 섬유혼입률과 임계균열폭의 함수로서 인장연화모델을 제안하였다.

건조수축 해석을 통한 종이의 벌크 및 강직성 향상 (Improvement of Paper Bulk and Stiffness by Using Drying Shrinkage Analysis)

  • The maximum drying shrinkage velocity was proposed to verify bulk and stiffness improvement mechanism during drying according to papermaking parameters. It was based on the wet-web shrinkage behavior without the restraint of wet-web during drying, so intact drying impact could be measured. Bulking agent reduced the drying shrinkage and the maximum drying shrinkage velocity, so paper bulk increased and paper strength decreased. When adding cationic starch to stock with the bulking agent for strengthening, the bulk was increased further with additional decreasing of the drying shrinkage and the maximum drying shrinkage velocity. Paper strength also increased except tensile stiffness index with decreasing the drying shrinkage and the maximum drying shrinkage velocity. When using additional strength additives for strengthening of fiber interfaces extended by bulking agent and cationic starch, amphoteric strength additive increased paper stiffness without loss of paper bulk. It was considered that the added amphoteric strength additives were cross-linked to the stretched cationic starch and this cross-linking increased elasticity of fiber-polymer-fiber interfaces without changing the drying behavior. Paper bulk could be increased with decreasing the maximum drying shrinkage velocity. The drying shrinkage of paper also could be controlled by fiber-to-fiber bonding interfaces by the bulking agent. In this case, paper strength including stiffness was decreased by reducing fiber-to-fiber bonding but it could be improved by strengthening fiber-to-fiber interfaces with polymer complex without loss of bulk.
