The massive structures are not free to move with vibration, differential settlement, thermal stresses because, construction and expansion joint, crack etc., can be large enough to cause leakage as deformation of waterproofing. It has been depended on the test method of tensile/tear strength which is waterproofing performance as behavior of concrete structure crack. However, not to practically confirm the creep applied to concrete surface, even waterproofing membrane have more performance than definite strength and elasticity. Therefore, in this study will focus on the test method to consider a resistance performance about loose adhesion and deformation of waterproofing and behavior of concrete structure as construction/expansion joint, crack. Performance test method on the influence as behavior of concrete structure crack is to choose waterproofing materials and construction method which possible to confront with behavior of 50mm crack in the atmosphere and low temperature. Examine the deformation of waterproofing membrane and loose adhesion which can occur to structure in general job site, suggest standard testing method to analyze correlation waterproofing membrane and structure with 5-types of materials used in this study, such as Adhesion membrane and sheet complex, sheet and urethane complex, self-adhesive sheet, spray poly-urea, spray membrane of rubberized Asphalt.
4,4'-Methylenebis(2-chlorobenzenamine) (MOCA)-free fast curing polyurethanes were prepared. In this study, the processibility of a fast curing polyurethane system was characterized by assessing the pot life. The obtained pot life of the polyurethane was 6-8 s, indicating that this prepolymer-curative system is appropriate for ribbon flow casting. The influence of the NCO index on the viscosity and mechanical properties was evaluated. The viscosity, tensile strength, tear strength, and hardness of the as-prepared polyurethanes showed an increasing trend, with an increase in the NCO index, whereas the elongation at break increased initially and then decreased with an increase in the NCO index. The gel fraction and crosslink density showed a direct correlation with the NCO index, which substantiated the improved mechanical properties at the higher NCO index. The coefficients of friction and abrasion deteriorated with an increase in the NCO index.
In order to investigate the influence of recycling, a laboratory method simulating the papermaking process was used for assessing the effects of recycling on fiber properties. Sw-BKP, Hw-BKP and BGP were disintegrated and beaten to about 42$^{\circ}$SR-44$^{\circ}$SR by a valley beater. After beating, these pulps were dewatered by centrifuge and dried at 90$^{\circ}C$ for 72hrs. This recycling process(sequence of wetting, defiberating, dewatering and drying) was repeated seven times. Physical, mechanical and optical properties of recycled pulps were evaluated by TAPPI Standards. Morphological changes occurred through recycling process was observed by SEM. Sheet density decreased with recycling. The largest drop in density occurred during the first recycling. The porosity values decreased with recycling. Mechanical properties such as tensile, burst strength and folding endurance, decreased with recycling. However tear strength of Sw-BKP and mixtured pulp increased at the first recycling. Optical properties such as brightness, opacity and light scattering coefficient, increased with recycling. However, brightness of mixtured pulp gradually decreased with recycling. Fibrillated outer layer of the fiber was gradually removed from the surface with recycling. As a result of recycling, crinkles on the fiber surface were found to be more folded.
A study has been made on the preparation of liquid resin of non-solvent and non-discoloration type for replacement of the soft PVC at room temperature. A new synthetic process was developed by structure-control design of polyurethane synthesis using pre-polymer and polyols as curing agent. The optimum recipe was made according to macro-glycols, molecular weight and reaction conditions, and the final products indicated that the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, tear strength and flexibility was very excellent than PVC products. Also, viscosity, hardness and color operations of the final products can be controlled by this system. And yellowing property by UV and NOx gas was improved from the various additive experiment.
Physical properties of NR vulcanizates cured by both sulfur and resole were studied. Cure characteristics of the compounds were also investigated. Two types of resoles with different molecular weight distributions were employed. The scorch time of the NR compound containing the resole with a low molecular weight distribution was shorter than that of the compound containing the resole with a high one. Crosslink densities of the NR vulcanizates with a high resole content after the thermal aging at $95^{\circ}C$ decreased, while that of the vulcanizate without resole after the thermal aging at $95^{\circ}C$ increased. Though crosslink densities of the NR vulcanizates with a high resole content decreased with increasing the aging time, the moduli increased while the tensile strength and tear strength decreased.
Optimal conditions for preparation of starch/PVA blends were investigated with the consideration of factors that may influence mechanical properties of the blends. $L_{27}(3^{13})$ experimental designs based on Taguchi method were performed and then tensile strength, strain at break, Young's modulus and tear strength of films of the blends were measured to determine the optimal conditions for preparation. Interaction effects for each factor were determined from analysis of variables. Results of $L_{27}(3^{13})$ experiments indicated that glycerol and urea were important process factors affecting optimization of the mechanical properties.
Optimal conditions for preparation of starch/PVA blends were investigated with the consideration of factors that may influence mechanical properties of the blends. Multiplex mixture optimal method as a statistical method were performed and then tensile strength, strain at break, Young's modulus and tear strength of films of the blends were measured to determine the optimal conditions for preparation. The mechanical properties needed for the degradable agricultural mulch were the target of this experiment. Results showed that although the strain at break was a little insufficient, the other properties were very close to the target. This means that the mechanical properties of the film from this blend as a whole are very compatible with those of the reference mulch.

To conserve wood resources for papermaking, chemical compositions of the hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) bast fiber cultivated in Korea such as holocellulose, ${\alpha}$-cellulose, lignin, alcohol-benzene extractives, hot and cold water extractives, and ash contents were investigated to manufacture the specialty packaging paper effectively. Significantly very low klason lignin content of 3.3% was accomplished by removing of the outer shell of bark. Laboratory soda pulping method which is very useful for the nonwood fiber was adapted, and it was found that there was no significant difference in both kappa number and H-factor between 25% and 30% NaOH charge. Hemp pulp cooked with the laboratory digester in 25% NaOH at $170^{\circ}C$ were mixed together with the wood pulp(NBKP:LBKP=1:1) in order to find the optimum mixture ratio which exhibited acceptable paper strength properties such as tensile index, burst index, and tear strength. When 10% of hemp soda pulps was mixed with 90% of wood pulps comprised of SwBKP and HwBKP (1:1), all physical strength increased significantly. The physical strength decreased as the amount of hemp pulp increased because the cell wall of bast fiber is very thick which causes low conformability and low fiber-fiber bonding. These results showed that paper made of hemp-wood pulp can be used for the specialty packaging paper which requires both the characteristic surface properties and the high physical strength of hemp fiber.

In the previous experiment, it was found that OCC pre-treatment with Hobart mixer at 20-25% consistency for 3 hrs or more followed by the application of the equal refining time, caused the increase of tensile strength, burst strength, compressive strength and tear resistance, compared to the no pre-treated. Four completely different fibers, which were Hw-BKP, Sw-BKP, White ledger, and OCC were selected for this experiment to investigate the effect of mechanical pre-treatment process on different fibers. From the experiment, it was found that the mechanical pre-treatment did not decrease fiber length at all, but decreased freeness, com-pared to the no pre-treated, when the same refining time was applied. WRVs of the pre-treated fibers were higher than the no pre-treated at the same freeness level. It was speculated that the mechanical pre-treatment induced only hydrophilic nature of fibers without damaging fiber length by delaminating fiber walls. The fiber surface area and the physical strength differences of handsheets will be discussed in the next publication.
