Researchers are actively investigating the potential for utilizing alternative materials in construction to tackle the environmental and economic challenges linked to traditional concrete-based materials. Nevertheless, conventional laboratory methods for testing the mechanical properties of concrete are both costly and time-consuming. The limitations of traditional models in predicting the tensile strength of concrete composited with geopolymer have created a demand for more advanced models. Fortunately, the increasing availability of data has facilitated the use of machine learning methods, which offer powerful and cost-effective models. This paper aims to explore the potential of several machine learning methods in predicting the tensile strength of geopolymer concrete under different curing conditions. The study utilizes a dataset of 221 tensile strength test results for geopolymer concrete with varying mix ratios and curing conditions. The effectiveness of the machine learning models is evaluated using additional unseen datasets. Based on the values of loss functions and evaluation metrics, the results indicate that most models have the potential to estimate the tensile strength of geopolymer concrete satisfactorily. However, the Takagi Sugeno fuzzy model (TSF) and gene expression programming (GEP) models demonstrate the highest robustness. Both the laboratory tests and machine learning outcomes indicate that geopolymer concrete composed of 50% fly ash and 40% ground granulated blast slag, mixed with 10 mol of NaOH, and cured in an oven at 190°F for 28 days has superior tensile strength.

This study will not only prove experimental dynamic properties which are classified to slump, compressive strength, tensile strength, flexure strength and toughness granite soil concrete with a fine aggregate of granite soil and blast-furnace cement and polypropylene fiber over 45 mm, but also establish a basic data in order to use environment-friendly pavement through prove useful pavement mixed with granite and polypropylene (PP) fiber which is a kind of material to prevent a dry shrinkage clack, a partial destruction and useful and light. The value of slump test was gradually increased by PP fiber volume 3 $kgf/m^3$, but compressive strength took a sudden turn for the worse from 5 $kgf/m^3$. The compressive strength indicated a range of 13.72~18.35 MPa. On the contrary to compressive strength, the tensile strength showed to decrease with rising PP fiber volume, and the tensile strength indicated a range of 1.43~1.64 MPa. The tensile strength was stronger about 2~15 % in case of mixing with PP fiber volume than normal concrete. The flexural strength indicated a range of 2.76~3.41 MPa. The flexural strength was stronger about 20 % in case of PP fiber volume 0 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$. The toughness indicated a range of 0~25.46 $N{\cdot}mm$ and increased proportionally with PP fiber volume. The toughness was stronger about 8.3 times in case of PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 1 $kg/m^3$. The pavement with PP fiber volume over such a fixed quantity in the park roads and walkways can have a effect to prevent not only resistance against clack but also rip off failures.

This study presents a mathematical model predicting the stress-strain behavior of fiber reinforced (FMMCs) and fiber/particle reinforced metal matrix composites (F/P MMCs). MMCs were fabricated by squeeze casting method using Al2O3 short fiber and particle as reinforcement, and A356 aluminum alloy as matrix. The fiber/particle ratios of F/P MMCs were 2:1, 1:1, 1:2 with the total reinforcement volume fraction of 20 vol.%, and the FMMCs were reinforced with 10 vol,%, 15 vol. %, 20 vol. % of fibers. Tensile tests were conducted and compared with predictions which were derived using laminate analogy theory and multi-failure model of reinforcements. Results show that the tensile strength of FMMCs with 10 vol.% of fiber was well matched with prediction, and as the fiber volume increases, predictions become larger than experimental results. The difference between the prediction and experiment is considered to be a result of matrix allowance of fiber damage in tensile loading. As the fiber volume fraction in FMMCs increases, the fiber damage increases and so that the tensile strength is reduced. The strength of F/P MMCs approaches more closely to the prediction than FMMCs reinforced with 20 vol.% of fibers because F/P MMCs contains small quantity of fibers and thus has a positive effect in fiber strengthening.

An empirical relationship between parameters from SP curves and tensile properties has been systematically investigated by experimental tests and FEM simulations. A series of SP and tensile tests were performed. SP tests were also simulated by FE analysis with various tensile properties. It was found that the yield loads(Py) and the maximum loads( $P_{MAX}$) in SP curves were linearly related with the yield strength($\sigma$$_{o}$) and the tensile strength($\sigma$$_{UTS}$), respectively. The yield loads defined from the intersection point of two lines tangent to the elastic bending region and plastic bending region showed better relation to the yield strength than those from offset line. The maximum loads in SP curves showing plastic instability region was linearly related with the tensile strengths. The slope of SP curves in simulation results had a close correlation with the hardening coefficient and hardening strength as well.l.l.l.

In this paper, the effects of the thickness of cubic samples on the tensile strength of concrete blocks were studied using experimental tests in the laboratory and numerical simulation by the particle flow code in three dimensions (PFC3D). Firstly, the physical concrete blocks with dimensions of 150 mm×190 mm (width×height) were prepared. Then, three specimens for each of seven different samples with various thicknesses were built in the laboratory. Simultaneously with the experimental tests, their numerical simulations were performed with PFC3D models. The widths, heights, and thicknesses of the numerical models were the same as those of the experimental samples. These samples were tested with a new tensile testing apparatus. The loading rate was kept at 1 kg/sec during the testing operation. Based on these analyses, it is concluded that when the thickness was less than 5 cm, the tensile strength decreased by increasing the sample thickness. On the other hand, the tensile strength was nearly constant when the sample thickness was raised to more than 5 cm (which can be regarded as a threshold limit for the specimens' thickness). The numerical outputs were similar to the experimental results, demonstrating the validity of the present analyses.
Reinforced concrete(R/C) is commonly used to structures because they have many merits that compressive strength, economy and so on. However, reinforced concrete has a crack at the tensile section which is due to the relatively lower tensile strength than its compressive strength Latex modified concrete(LMC) has higher tensile and flexural strength than the ordinary portland cement, due to the interconnections of hydrated cement and aggregates by a film of latex particles. The purpose of this study was to investigate the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beam with latex modified concrete, having the main experimental variables such as concrete types(ordinary portland cement concrete, latex modified concrete), latex contents(0%, 15%), flexural steel ratios(0.012, 0.0235), and with/without shear reinforcement. The beam of LMC showed considerably higher initial cracking loads and ductility than that of OPC, but, similar to ultimate strength and deflection. This might be attributed to the interlocking of hydrated cement and aggregates by a film of latex particles, water retention due to hydrophobic, and colloidal properties of the latexes resulting in reduced water evaporation. The beam with latex modified concrete could be adopted at field for controlling and reducing the tensile crack due to its higher tensile strength.

The present study examined mechanical properties according to the change of outer circumference in the friction welding of A2024-T4 stock, which is used much as aircraft structure, truck wheel, stainless materials and A2024-T4 stock with 10 hollow at the center. Welding conditions were fixed at RPM 2,000rpm, friction pressure of 50MPa, friction time of 1.5sec, upset pressure of 120MPa and upset time of 2.0 seconds. From the result of this study were drawn conclusions as follows : According to the result of a tensile strength test, the solid shaft showed linear increase of tensile strength with the change of outer circumference, the hollow shaft showed maximum tensile stength when the length (L) was 2mm and decrease of tensile strength with the change of outer circumference, hardness appeared to increase and then decrease for welding interface, and it showed maximum hardness 155Hv at L=5mm of the solid shaft. Bending strength increased linearly far change of the distance (L) of outer circumference in the solid shaft and then decreased linearly in the hollow shaft. the result of examining tissue, the tissue grew finer around the welding interface and divided the basic material and the welding surface.
Steel fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete (SFRSCC) is a relatively new composite material which congregates the benefits of self-compacting concrete (SCC) technology with the profits derived from the fiber addition to a brittle cementitious matrix. Steel fibers improve many of the properties of SCC elements including tensile strength, toughness, energy absorption capacity and fracture toughness. Modification in the mix design of SCC may have a significant influence on the SFRSCC mechanical properties. Therefore, it is vital to investigate whether all of the assumed hypotheses for steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) are also valid for SFRSCC structures. Although available research regarding the influence of steel fibers on the properties of SFRSCC is limited, this paper investigates material's mechanical properties. The present study includes: a) evaluation and comparison of the current analytical models used for estimating the mechanical properties of SFRSCC and SFRC, b) proposing new relationships for SFRSCC mixtures mechanical properties. The investigated mechanical properties are based on the available experimental results and include: compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, strain at peak compressive strength, tensile strength, and compressive and tensile stress-strain curves.
In this study, to provide the fundamental data on stable connection method for successful implants prosthesis, We fabricated the solder joint of gold alloy bar specimens by gas flame soldering method and laser welding and soldering method. It compared and studied the tensile strength of two soldering method by universal testing machine. The results using universal testing machine were as follow : The mean of tensile strength of solder joint bar in gas flame soldering method specimens was 363.89 $\pm$17.62 MPa, and the mean strength of laser welding and soldering method was 125.91 $\pm$ 19.66 MPa, so gas flame soldering method was better than laser welding and soldering method and the finding better way to improve tensile strength is needed in laser welding method. On weak loading condition and the part which is needed an accuracy, laser welding method is more effective and on long-span prosthesis and frequent chewing loading part, laser welding technique is recommended first and applying additional gas flame soldering technique would be better for making much more successful prosthesis.

This study deals with the friction welding of SM25C and SCNCrM-2B; The friction time was variable conditions under the conditions of spindle revolution 2,000rpm, friction pressure of 100MPa, upset pressure of l50MPa, and upset time of 4.0 seconds. Under these conditions, the microstructure of weld interface, tensile fracture surface and mechanical tests were studied, and so the results were as follows. 1. When the friction time is 2.0 seconds, the tensile strength of friction welds was 874MPa, which is around as much as 117% of the tensile strength of base metal(SM25C), the bending strength of friction welds was 1,354MPa, which is around as much as 108.9% of the bending strength of base metal(SM25C). 2. At the same condition, the maximum vickers hardness was Hv443 at SCNCrM-2B nearby weld interface, which is higher Hv20 than condition of the friction time 0.5 seconds. 3. The results of microstructure analysis show that the structures of two base materials have fractionated and rearranged along a column due to heating and axial force during friction, which has affected in raising hardness and tensile strength.
