Throughout history, tennis-wear designers have attempted reforms to the designs, which were swayed a lot by game rules, and more efforts than ever are put forth recently. The efforts to introduce fashion designers into tennis brands and to break down the barriers between sports brands and common fashions have contributed to the advancement of tennis-wear. Howver, designers are not the only contributors to the development and innovation of tennis-wear. Tennis players who are well aware of the design make-up may affect some aspects of tennis-wear. Even some tennis players launched certain tennis-wear brands. They are not just players in games, but also innovators of this certain type of clothing. In this sense, they design, select, and put on tennis-wear as designers and players, which has contributed a lot to variation and advancement of tennis-wear. Such diversified of attempts in terms of design have led to the variety of tennis-wear, and adopting certain features of other sportswear has enhanced the functionality as well. As for materials, functional materials as well as lingerie look and laceworks as in dance looks were used, and even nude-color short pants were introduced to represent such images of fantasy and illusion. As for color as well, a revolution of color, which has been a taboo, was led. The popularity of tennis-wear fashions even leads to combination with features of other areas, which has been more diversified by the collaboration with designs inspired by toga of Greece and various other areas such as films and arts.

The purpose of this research is to classify the design features of twentieth century women's tennis wear. The specific research questions are; how tennis has developed and what is the relationship between tennis wear and modern dress? What are the important developments in women's tennis wear design in the twentieth century? What are the characteristics exhibited in each decade in women's tennis dress? This paper conducted current research by considering the women's tennis wear as a background of dress simplification. Forty pictures showing tennis wear from international tennis games' catalogues and literatures were selected for this study. Researchers employed a qualitative research method providing a systematic review of the previous studies analyzed by content. The results show that sportswear has become an important trend in contemporary fashion. Tennis wear also had influence on modern dress. Current development is concentrated on functional new materials and sports marketing.

Sports has become one way to improve our own health and to enjoy life by changing the lifestyle of modern-day people. Sports athletes not only give pleasure to the public, but also play a role in elevating a nation's reputation through sports. Tennis is popular with the public, and women players receive tennis wear from various sports companies to promote the designs to the public. This study considers the design-related characteristics of women's tennis wear through content analysis of design elements from the tennis wear in four major tournaments over the most recent five years. This is important in order to provide basic data on design directions for tennis wear in the future. The results of this study are as follows. First, the silhouette plays a role in enhancing activity by considering the physical movement of tennis players who are very active. Second, color emphasizes the rules and clarity of traditional tennis tournaments, and reflects a diversified trend in tennis wear by considering smooth game play by players and combining popular colors in the year. Third, patterns and decorations on material are used as a means to emphasize the esthetics of tennis wear, and tape plays an auxiliary role in emphasizing the physical beauty of women or preventing physical movement causing injury. In addition, sponsor logos are generally located at the center of the chest of tennis wear tops by mixing letters and images. This can be interpreted as a part of the marketing strategy to enhance clarity of the sponsor's brand.

This paper discusses the importance of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in enhancing performance and resistance of tennis rackets with the application of nanotechnology. This paper discusses how nanomaterials work toward making the equipment lighter, stronger, and more durable by combining CNTs with composite materials in Tennis Rackets. Distinctive properties of the CNTs, such as the very high strength-to-weight ratio and exceptional mechanical resilience, have been exploited in racket performance optimization for better power transmission, increased control on shots, and improved durability. Resistance to wear and tear is discussed in terms of the life of a CNT-enhanced tennis racket and its continued performance with time. The findings imply that the CNTs increase the security and overall performance of tennis rackets, hence promising further innovation in sports technology equipment and the various performances expected from users.

The aim of this study is to evaluate tennis shoes's plantar pressure distribution in tennis prayers and to determine the influence of the shoe on various tennis movements. When investigating the biomechanics of movement in tennis, one of the first things to do is to understand the movement patterns of the sport, specifically how these patterns relate to different tennis shoes. Once these patterns are understood, footwear company can design tennis shoes that match the individual needs of tennis players. Plantar pressure measurement is widely employed to study foot function, the mechanical pathogenesis for foot disease and as a diagnostic and outcome measurement tool for many performance. Measurements were taken of plantar pressure distribution across the foot and using F-Scan(Tekscan Inc.) systems respectively. The F-Scan system for dynamic in-shoe foot pressure measurements has enabled us to assess quantitatively the efficacy of different types of footwear in reducing foot pressures. The Tekscan F-Scan system consists of a flexible, 0.18mm thick sole-shape having 1260 pressure sensors, the sensor insole was trimmed to fit the subjects' right, left shoes. For this study 4 university male, high level tennis players were instructed to hit alternated forehand stroke, backhand stroke, forehand volley, backhand volley, smash, service movement in 4 different tennis shoes. 1. When impact in tennis movement, peak pressure distribution of landing foot displayed D>C>B>A, A displayed the best low pressure distribution. A style's tennis shoes will suggest prayer with high impact. If prayer with high impact feeling during pray in tennis wear A style, it will decrease injury, will have performance improvement. 2. When impact in tennis movement, plantar pattern of pressure distribution in landing foot displayed B>A>C>D in stability performance. During tennis, prayer want to stability movement suggest B style tennis shoes when tennis movement impact keep stability of human body. B style tennis shoes give performance improvement 3. When impact in tennis movement, plantar pattern of center of force(C.O.F.)trajectory in landing foot analyzed this : 1) When stroke movement and volley movement in tennis, prayer better to rearfoot movement. 2) when service movement, prayer midfoot strike movement. 3) when smash movement, prayer have forefoot strike movement.

The purposes of this study were to a analysis of friction relation between tennis outsole and tennis playing surfaces. Tennis footwear is an important component of tennis game equipment. It can support or damage players performance and comfort. Most importantly athletic shoes protect the foot preventing abrasions and injuries. Footwear stability in court sports like tennis is incredibly important since it is estimated that as many as 45% of all lower extremity injuries occur in the foot and ankle. The friction force is the force exerted by a surface as an object moves across it or makes an effort to move across it. The friction force opposes the motion of the object. Friction results when two surfaces are pressed together closely, causing attractive intermolecular forces between the molecules of the two different surfaces. The outsole provides traction and reduces wear on the midsole. Today's outsoles address sport specific movements (running versus pivoting) and playing surface types. Different areas of the outsole are designed for the distinct frictional needs of specific movements. Traction created by the friction between the outsole and the surface allows the shoe to grip the surface. As surfaces, conditions and player motion change, traction may need to vary. An athletic shoe needs to grip well when running but not when pivoting. Laboratory tests have demonstrated force reductions compared to impact on concrete. There is a correlation between pain, injury and surface hardness. These are a variety of traction patterns on the soles of athletic shoes. Traction like any other shoe characteristic must be commensurate and balanced with the sport. The equal and opposite force does not necessarily travel back up your leg. The surface itself absorbs a portion of the force converting it to other forms of energy. Subsequently, tennis court surfaces are rated not only for pace but also for the percentage of force reduction.

The purpose of the study was to analyze how to express the eroticism on the female's contemporary sportswear. Six hundred fifty few pictures in the fashion magazines such as Vogue, and Elle etc., and at the collections through the internet from 2000 to 2005, were used for the analysis. Other related books and articles were also used for the study. The eroticism on the female's contemporary sportswear was mainly expressed through two ways such as direct exposure and indirect exposure. The details of the eroticism expressed through these two ways were as follows; 1. The extent of direct exposure in bust area and leg were excessive compared to other body area specially in tennis wear, swimsuit, boxing wear and dance wear etc. 2. See-through and close adhesion were used in order to express eroticism indirectly.

Backgroun and purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of high heel shoes on lumbar lordosis for young ladies. The most of ladies wear high heel shoes at least 4 to 5 days a week. Subjects: Subjects were 30 young ladies age between 20 to 30 years old who go to the Sahm Yook University. Methods: Participants were static standing position with bear feet, tennis shoes. and 6cm high heel shoes each different time. The ankles of subjects were 15 degree plantar flexion with 6cm high heel shoes. Metrecom Skeletal Analysis System v. 3. 10 was used to measure the lordosis of each subject. Results: The angle of the lordosis with high heel shoes showed the significant decrease omparing with the angle of lordosis with bear feet and tennis shoes. The mean difference is 2.57 degree. Conclusion: There is strong relationship between the high of heel with decreasing the lumbar lordosis(p<0.05).

As sports infiltrates each field of modern society and becomes familiar, sports wear was changed functionally and was introduced and enveloped into everyday dress. Modern sports wear has been the settled in everyday life deeply and become the clothes of life which are worn regardless of place, time and age. The aim of this paper was to clarify what kind of fashion of sports style would be given to the modern people. In this study, sports wear which has become everyday dress classified from a gender point of view. It was divided into masculine image, feminine image, and neutral image. Sports wear of masculine image generated a silhouette which emphasized the shoulder with the aspiration for youth and health. Wide shoulder was considered as the symbol of masculine beauty and the expression of healthy beauty. It was reflected well in body conscious look. And owing to the development of up-to-data materials, innovation of design, and the study of human body technology, the functional character was settled in the sports wear which showed masculine image. Sports wear of feminine image was represented fashion of body exposure, body feet with body conscious look, and romantic mode. This image was expressed fashion as comforts, pleasant, active design, materials, color, and romantic feminine beauty. Sports wear of neutral image was expressed into unisex clothes. This cloths have no difference in gender, age, and class. It was used as casual sports wear. In the 1960s, young generation participated in such street sports as street basketball and skate. They usually sore the sports wears of neutral image such as cycling, skating, and ski. In the materials of sports, the development of up-to-data material like lycra made the sayings lifelike, “up-to-data material is the second skin” It show that glamorous feminine image and strong masculine image coexisted. The contemporary concept of sportswear is no longer limited to those clothes for sports found in such places like tennis court or swimming pool. Now, the sports wear become more like casual activity wear all classes of people can enjoy in their life regardless of where they are, when they wear, and even how old they are.

The purpose on this study identified the purchasing conditions of Sports wear of the Chinese men residing in Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Tianjin, Harbin and Guangzhou, so that it helped sports wear manufacturers and retailers offer the basic data. For the study, a questionnaire used as a method of measurement, the 863 Chinese men were selected as a sample, SAS(Statistical Analysis System) program was used to analyze the data. The results from the study were as follows: 1. According to the investigation, the most preferred sports of Chinese men is soccer, as a whole. Swimming, basketball and ping-pong keep rank the next to soccer. 2. Accordingly age, area, profession and income, Chinese men maintained sports suit in order of training suit, swimming suit, soccer suit, tennis suit. It is found that holding amount of high-quality sports wears as ski, golf is on a low level. 3. It is appeared that Chinese men purchased in good order as follow brand: No-bran, Nike, Lening, Adidas. And except Nike, they purchased more Lening brand than foreign sports brand. 4. As the result of researching on the item of sports wear, it is found that they purchased various kind items in a higher rank 5 brands. 5. Sports wear's color that Chinese men purchased is blue, white, black, red. 6. The purchasing price that Chinese men favored is 200$\sim$599RMB. Thus, they expend average per head for sports suit buying, 486.0RMB. 7. Chinese men purchased very often at specialty store. And, coefficient of utilization at the usual market is on a low level. 8. In purchasing satisfaction, 80 % Chinese men were satisfied with goods(sports wear) that purchased in a higher rank 5 brands. So, average satisfaction degree showed over 3.8 as a high rate. 9. According to the result of satisfaction on Chinese men, 70% Chinese men showed satisfaction. Therefore, the average of satisfaction degree appeared 3.81 as a high rate.
