과학기술예측 대상기술 선정을 위한 주요 기술영역의 조사연구 (A Study on the Science and Technology Areas for the Third Technology Foresight of Korea)

  • This study reviews and compares the selection procedures for science and technology topics to predict mid- and long-term trends in science and technology development in Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom. It then identifies science and technology topics and future technologies for the third science and technology foresight of Korea. In Japan and the United Kingdom, non-technological topics that reflect socioeconomic needs are also select-ed along with technological ones. This study provides the following policy implications to enhance reliability and effectiveness of the third science and technology foresight of Korea. First, selection of science and technology topics should coincide with the national goal, taking into account development trends in science and technology and socioeconomic needs. Second, the current prediction methodologies such as "delphi" do not fully consider future uncertainties in science and technology development. A scenario method is, for example, needed to present coherent pictures of alternative futures. finally, the third technology foresight should select and include topics that reflect domestic conditions and global trend in technological progress. This study suggests 117 topics for the third science and technology foresight.foresight.

국내 산업공학 연구 주제 2001~2015 (Research Topics in Industrial Engineering 2001~2015)

  • Over the last four decades, industrial engineering (IE) research in Korea has continued to evolve and expand to respond to social needs. This paper aims to identify research topics in IE research and explore their dynamic changes over time. The topic modeling approach, which automatically discovers topics that pervade a large and unstructured collection of documents, is adopted to identify research topics in domestic IE research. 1,242 articles published from 2001 to 2015 in two IE journals issued by the Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers were collected and their English abstracts were analyzed. Applying the Latent Dirichlet Allocation model led us to uncover 50 topics of domestic IE research. The top 10 most popular topics are revealed, and topic trends are explored by examining the dynamic changes over time. The four topics, technology management, financial engineering, data mining (supervised learning), efficiency analysis, are selected as hot topics while several traditional topics related with manufacturing are revealed as cold topics. The findings are expected to provide fruitful implications for IE researchers.

토픽모델링을 활용한 농촌연구 동향분석 (An Analysis on the Rural Research Trends using Topic Modeling)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify rural research topics, differences in research topics over time, and key mediators through the analysis of academic research trends using topic modeling. This study analyzed a total of 1,183 articles published in the Journal of Rural Planning and Rural Society over a 23-year period (2000-2022). We categorized rural research topics into 30, examined the proportion of research in each topic, and identified major changes in research topics over time. We also identified key words that mediate between research topics. The study found that, first, rural research trends can be categorized into five types (resources and utilization, area/space, people, ecosystem/environment, and tourism), with area/space being the most studied. Subtopics include rural amenities, rural disappearance/village miniaturization, and rural landscape management. Second, the research topics for each period were different. In the first period(2003-2007), the main research topics were rural amenities and Agricultural production- based climate vulnerability assessment. In the second period(2008-2012), the main research topics were Rural extinction and village depopulation, and rural landscape management, and in the third period(2013-2017), the main research topics were rural sixth industrialization and rural ecotourism. In the fourth period(2018-2022), rural development planning and rural life services(life SOC) were the main research topics. The significance of this study is that it extends the existing method of analyzing research trends and provides basic data to enhance comprehensive insights and understanding of rural research.

빅데이터 연구동향 분석: 토픽 모델링을 중심으로 (Research Trends Analysis of Big Data: Focused on the Topic Modeling)

  • The objective of this study is to examine the trends in big data. Research abstracts were extracted from 4,019 articles, published between 1995 and 2018, on Web of Science and were analyzed using topic modeling and time series analysis. The 20 single-term topics that appeared most frequently were as follows: model, technology, algorithm, problem, performance, network, framework, analytics, management, process, value, user, knowledge, dataset, resource, service, cloud, storage, business, and health. The 20 multi-term topics were as follows: sense technology architecture (T10), decision system (T18), classification algorithm (T03), data analytics (T17), system performance (T09), data science (T06), distribution method (T20), service dataset (T19), network communication (T05), customer & business (T16), cloud computing (T02), health care (T14), smart city (T11), patient & disease (T04), privacy & security (T08), research design (T01), social media (T12), student & education (T13), energy consumption (T07), supply chain management (T15). The time series data indicated that the 40 single-term topics and multi-term topics were hot topics. This study provides suggestions for future research.

텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 건설안전사고 빅데이터 분석 (Big Data Analytics of Construction Safety Incidents Using Text Mining)

  • This study aims to extract key topics through text mining of incident records (incident history, post-incident measures, preventive measures) from construction safety accident case data available on the public data portal. It also seeks to provide fundamental insights contributing to the establishment of manuals for disaster prevention by identifying correlations between these topics. After pre-processing the input data, we used the LDA-based topic modeling technique to derive the main topics. Consequently, we obtained five topics related to incident history, and four topics each related to post-incident measures and preventive measures. Although no dominant patterns emerged from the topic pattern analysis, the study holds significance as it provides quantitative information on the follow-up actions related to the incident history, thereby suggesting practical implications for the establishment of a preventive decision-making system through the linkage between accident history and subsequent measures for reccurrence prevention.

Analysis of Research Topics and Trends on COVID-19 in Korea Using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA)

  • 본 연구에서는 DBpia에 등록된 코로나19 관련 논문을 대상으로 연구 토픽을 밝히고 연구 변화 추세를 검토한다. 잠재 디리슐레 할당(Latent Dirichlet Allocation) 알고리즘을 적용한 결과, 7개의 연구 토픽을 도출하였고, 각 토픽은 "International Dynamics", "Technology & Security", "Psychological Impact", "Biomedical-Related", "Economic Impact", "Online Education", "Religion-Related"에 관한 내용이었다. 또한 다범주 로짓모형을 사용하여 연구 토픽의 추세 변화를 살펴본 결과, 2020년 6월 전에는 국제적 역학관계 및 생물 의학 관련 논문이 주를 이루었다면, 이후에는 다양한 분야로 연구 주제가 확대되었다. 특히 경제적인 영향, 온라인 교육, 심리적인 영향에 관한 연구가 꾸준히 증가함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 향후 코로나19 관련 공동 연구의 가이드 라인을 제시하고, 활발한 연구 활동을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • This paper presents some research topics for advanced composites which have been conducted in Ben laboratory, College of industrial Technology, Nihon University. The topics are applications of shape memory alloy(SMA) to composite structures, dynamic responses of CFRP and GFRP structures, fabrication of new type of GFRP, fatigue and weatherability strength of CFRP and new concept of joint for FRP structures, respectively.

'블록체인 활용' 관련 빅데이터를 활용한 토픽 분석: 신문기사를 중심으로 (Topic Analysis Using Big Data Related to 'Blockchain usage': Focused on Newspaper Articles)

  • 이 연구에서는 블록체인 기술의 활용과 관련된 주요 토픽을 분석하기 위해 신문기사에 나타난 '블록체인 기술 활용' 빅데이터를 토픽 모델링기법을 적용하였다. 이를 위해 2013년부터 2019년까지, 21개의 신문사로부터 15,617건을 대상으로 토픽을 추출하고 주요 트렌트를 시기별로 구분하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 블록체인기술 활용과 관련된 기사는 2015년부터 기하급수적으로 증가하였으며 IT_과학 분야와 경제 분야에 집중되었다. 기간에 따라 차이는 있지만 암호화폐, 비트코인, 가상화폐와 관련된 키워드의 가중치가 높았다. 금융거래에 집중되었던 블록체인기술은 빅데이터, 사물인터넷, 인공지능으로 점차 확대되었다. 이에 따라 기업의 토픽 변화도 함께 이루어져 금융거래를 위한 은행에서 다양한 분야로 확대되면서 대기업과 글로벌기업으로 집중되었다. 이 연구를 통해 블록체인기술의 활용과 관련한 신문기사의 주요 토픽과 함께 이러한 토픽들이 어떠한 변화추이를 보이고 있는지에 대해 확인할 수 있었다.

텍스트마이닝을 이용한 정보보호 연구동향 분석 (Research Trends Analysis of Information Security using Text Mining)

  • With the development of IT technology, various services such as artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicles are being introduced, and many changes are taking place in our lives. However, if secure security is not provided, it will cause many risks, so the information security becomes more important. In this paper, we analyzed the research trends of main themes of information security over time. In order to conduct the research, 'Information Security' was searched in the Web of Science database. Using the abstracts of theses published from 1991 to 2016, we derived main research topics through topic modeling and time series regression analysis. The topic modeling results showed that the research topics were Information technology, system access, attack, threat, risk management, network type, security management, security awareness, certification level, information protection organization, security policy, access control, personal information, security investment, computing environment, investment cost, system structure, authentication method, user behavior, encryption. The time series regression results indicated that all the topics were hot topics.
