예비유아교사의 유아환경교육에 대한 개념도 연구 (A Study on Pre-Service Early Childhood Teachers' Perception on Children's Environmental Education Using Concept Mapping)

  • Objective: This study aimed to reveal pre-service early childhood teachers' perception of children's environmental education using concept mapping and demonstrating its importance. Methods: Based on Kane and Trochim's(2007) procedure, 33 pre-service early childhood teachers conducted brainstorming and statement writing, and then the importance of selected statements were rated by 202 pre-service early childhood teachers. Selected statements were analyzed through multidimensional scaling and hierarchical cluster analysis. Results: Pre-service early childhood teachers perceived children's environmental education as concept mapping with 2-dimensions and eight clusters. The following eight clusters were established (1) daily practice through hands on experience, (2) nature environment, (3) recognizing and coping with environmental issues, (4) environmental preservation practices, (5) environmental sensitivity and consideration, (6) purpose of children's environmental education, (7) necessity for children's environmental education (8) Practice through connection with child's home and community. And then among the eight clusters, the most important was recognized as 'daily practice through hands on experience', and among the statements 'young children learn through the method of playing in nature and experience nature' was considered the most important. Conclusion/Implications: Based on these results, we discuss the importance of children's environmental education of pre-service early childhood teachers and how to support to develop teacher's training program.

Guided Instruction of Introducing Computational Thinking to Non-Computer Science Education Major Pre-Service Teachers

  • Since 'teaching coding' or 'programming' classes for computational thinking (CT) education in K-12 are renowned around the world, a pre-service teachers' readiness for integrating CT into their teaching subjects is important due to the fact that CT is considered to be another 'R' from algoRitm for 21st century literacy, in addition to the traditional 3R (Reading, Writhing, and Arithmetic) [2] and CT roles to other disciplines. With this rationale, we designed a guided instruction based CT course for pre-service teachers. We show the effectiveness of the program with respect to the teachers' attitude toward combining CT into their teaching subjects, and mindset changes of learning computing connected with the career development of the teacher themselves. The research focused on the instructional methodology of teaching programing for non-Computer Science Education (CSE) majors who are not familiar with computer science for alleviating the cognitive load of first exposure to programming course under the CT concepts.

유치원 교사들의 영양지식 및 간식 급식에 대한 태도 조사 연구 (Nutrition Knowledge and Snack Serving Attitude of Kindergarten Teachers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the nutrition knowledge of kindergarten teachers and their attitude toward kindergarten lunch and snack service programs. Self-administered questionnaires were completed by 293 kindergarten teachers from January to February 1995. The results were as follows : 77.8% of the kindergarten teachers were taking part in the school meal service program. Most teachers were interested in the special training in child nutrition management, however, only 34.0% of the respondents had taken the nutrition related courses. The average score of nutrition knowledge of kindergarten teachers was 15.9$\pm$2.9 out of possible 28 points. They had better knowledge on such subjects as nutritional physiology and food choices for children, but had lower scores on practical subjects as calorie and nutrient value of food, cooking and nutrition management for children. When they chose snack items for children, teachers highly considered the nutritional value of snacks. Milk, cornflakes & milk, steamed potato, boiled egg, orange, apple and gimbap were their favorite choices for children's snacks. Other factors to be considered included children's preference, convenience in food service, and price of snack.

Theoretical Consideration of the Components of Preservice Mathematics Teacher Training

  • This research elaborated five components for pre-service mathematics teacher training: 1) Mathematical content knowledge, 2) Pedagogical content knowledge, 3) Pedagogical reasoning, 4) System of training, and 5) Mathematics teachers' beliefs. For the effect teaching, mathematics teacher program should be reformed. The key to improvement should be concerntrated on developing knowledge about effective teaching and translating it into algorithms those teachses can learn and incorporate in their planning prior to teaching. A theory of instruction should specify the most effective sequences in which to present the materials to be learned.

융합인재교육에 대한 초등예비교사와 현직교사의 인식과 요구 (Elementary Pre-service Teachers and In-service Teachers' Perceptions and Demands on STEAM Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out about the awareness and demands of pre-service and in-service elementary school teachers on STEAM education. For the purpose of this study, researcher administered survey questionnaires were conducted for 160 pre-service teachers and 191 in-service teachers who were sampled by convenience sampling method. The results were as follows. On the awareness and demand for knowledge and necessity on STEAM, first, on the understanding related knowledge, most respondents have heard of STEAM education(97.7%), and well aware of STEAM(91.4%) through the teacher training course(80.3%). Second, on the necessity, 60.4% respondents were located in "very necessary" and "necessary" entry. On the awareness and demand for applying STEAM, first, on the reasons of applying STEAM was to help the cognitive and affective development. Also 67.3% respondents would like to apply STEAM on their science class. The reason was necessity on STEAM, and the most suitable subject for blending with science of applying to STEAM was technology, on the other hand the most difficult subject was art. Second, on the effect of STEAM, most respondents had positive awareness on the all categories. Third, on the purpose of science education, also had positive awareness on the all categories of the purpose of science education. On the awareness and demand for blending ways of STEAM and improvements, first, on the blending ways of STEAM, topic centered blending related to real life had a majority. Second, on the improvements, to improve the STEAM education, many respondents pointed out the development of teaching and learning STEAM program and dissemination of related resources.

  • Secondary schools in Korea have been faced with with several critical problems with regard to science education, with one of the most fundament problems being associated with secondary school science teacher education and in-service training. Therefore this study, which is a part of project for the improvement of science teaching in secondary schools, had its purposes to inquire into the following are as. ${\circ}$systems for science teacher education ${\circ}$curricular contents and its operations of science teacher education ${\circ}$systems for in-service teacher training and its operations ${\circ}$analyses of problems associated with science teacher education and in-service teacher training. In order to fulfill these objectives this study used methods of literature review, survey, and interviews. The major findings are as follow: ${\circ}$curricular hours of subject matter education are not sufficient for competent science teacher. opportunities for self-training in major are as are seldom given to the most of the science teachers ${\circ}$systematic organization for in-service traings is in urgert need. In addition to there-findings strategies for improving science teacher education and in-service trainings are suggested in this paper.

그림자 원리에 대한 초등 과학 수업 지도안 분석 - 시각적 표상의 유형과 인지 과정을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Elementary Science Lesson Plans on Shadow Principle - Focusing on the Types and Cognitive Processes of Visual Representations -)

  • Visual Representation Competence Taxonomy (VRC-T) was developed in previous study(Yoon, 2018) to provide a framework conducive to assess visual representation competence and to devise appropriate educational activities for it. This study is an extension of the previous study. It aimed to explore the usefulness of VRC-T and revise it by analyzing the patterns of visual representation use in science lessons. The researcher collected lesson plans on shadow principle from 11 pre-service and 13 in-service elementary teachers and conducted individual interviews regarding what visual representations they considered and how they tried to use them in science lessons. VRC-T was used as an analytical framework to examine the types and cognitive processes of visual representations. As a result, new categories were added and the revised VRC-T was completed (VRC-TR). It was also found that both pre- and in-service teachers mainly focused on 'interpreting' the 'descriptive representation' while designing their lesson plans. Additionally, in-service teachers showed more limited use of visual representations compared to pre-service teachers. In-service teachers largely relied on the national science textbooks, while pre-service teachers reflected their own learning experiences in their teacher-training program. These results showed that teachers' use of visual representations heavily relied on their prior learning and teaching experiences. The VRC-TR presented in this study and examples of class activities in each category can be helpful for teachers and researchers who want to use visual representations more effectively.

정보통신기술교육 운영지침과 활용능력기준에 기초한 교원정보화 연수 현황 및 문제점 분석 (Current Status and Problems of the ICT In-service Training for Teacher Based on the Operating Guide and Skill Standard of ICT)

  • 교원정보화 연수는 연수내용과 연수의 운영 및 관리면에서 여러 가지 문제점을 가지고 있다. 정보화 연수 내용이 응용 소프트웨어 기능 위주의 매뉴얼 학습이 대부분이고, 비체계적이며 중복되는 내용들이 많았다. 또한 정보화 연수가 필수가 아니기 때문에 정보화 연수를 한번도 이수하지 않은 교사들도 있었다. 특히 교원 정보화 연수 및 교원정보활용능력인증제의 기준인 교원의 정보통신기술 활용 능력 기준(ISST)는 개정된 정보통신기술교육 운영지침과도 큰 차이를 보이고 있어 개정이 필요하였다. 본 연구에서는 현 교원 정보화 연수의 현황을 알아보고, 연수의 내용 및 운영상의 문제점을 ISST와 개정된 정보통신 기술교육 운영지침과 분석해 교원 정보화 연수 개선의 필요성을 제안하고자 한다.

교수 실제를 통한 초임 과학교사의 PCK 분석 (An Analysis of Beginning Science Teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge through the Teaching Practice)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 초임 과학교사의 PCK를 분석하는 것이다. 이 연구를 위하여 공립중학교에 근무하는 두 명의 초임 과학교사를 선정하였다. 연구의 자료는 수업 촬영, 반구조화된 면담, 기타 문서자료 등이 질적 연구방법을 통해 수집되었다. 자료 분석은 반복적 비교 분석법에 의하여 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 교육과정에 대한 지식과 평가에 대한 지식은 약간 차이가 있지만 그 수준은 부족한 편이었으며, 교수전략과 교수 지향은 교사에 따라 매우 상이했다. 교사들은 학습자의 다양한 수준을 인식하였지만, 학습자에 대한 올바른 이해가 부족해 두 초임과학교사의 수업은 공통적으로 과학교과서의 내용전달에 초점이 있었다. 결론적으로 두 초임교사의 PCK는 예비교사의 PCK와 비슷했다. 초임교사의 PCK 발달을 위해 예비교사 프로그램의 패러다임전환과 현직교사 연수 및 지원 프로그램의 확충이 필요하다.

예비유아교사의 성격유형과 교사효능감의 관계 및 영향력 분석 (An Analysis on the Relationship and Influence of Pre-service Early Childhood Teacher's Personality Factors and Teacher Efficacy)

  • 본 연구는 예비유아교사의 성격유형과 교사효능감 간의 관계를 분석하고 성격유형이 교사효능감에 미치는 영향력을 분석하는 데 목적을 두었다. 본 연구에서는 G지역의 3,4년제 유아교육과에 재학 중인 228명의 예비유아교사를 대상으로 질문지를 사용하여 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계, Pearson의 상관관계분석을 실시하고, 영향력을 살펴보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비유아교사의 성격유형과 교사효능감 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 통계적으로 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 성격유형 중 외향성과 교사효능감이 가장 높은 정적 상관관계를 보였으며, 신경증은 교사효능감과 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 예비유아교사의 성격유형 교사효능감을 의미 있게 예측하는 변인으로 나타났으며, 25%의 설명력을 보였다. 또한 예비유아교사의 성격유형 중 외향성이 교사효능감에 가장 많은 영향력을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 예비유아교사의 성격유형 중 외향성이 강한 예측 변인으로 나타나 교사효능감 증진에 외향적인 성격이 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연구 결과를 토대로 예비유아교사의 교사효능감을 증진시키기 위해 외향적인 특성을 함양하기 위한 예비유아교사 교육 프로그램이 필요함을 시사한다.
