According to the paradigm of Neo-liberalism, the issue of ability grouping has grown more and more in education of Korea. And because of the influence of ability grouping, now ability grouping is enforcing partially in the subjects of English and Mathematics. But ability grouping is going to expand to the all subjects. So, it is very important that how teachers and students are recognize about partial ability grouping in the subjects of English and Mathematics. Because that information about partial ability grouping can guide direction for the future educational policy. The purpose of this study was to actually analyze teacher's and students' recognition of partial ability grouping in the subjects of English and Mathematics. To accomplish this purpose, 622 middles school students and 552 teachers were sampled. As a tool of investigation, questionnaires about teacher's and students' recognition of partial ability grouping had made by researcher of this study were used. And as processing of data, t-test, F-test, Scheff-test were used. The result of this study is as follow. First, teachers who are experiencing ability grouping recognized more negative about ability grouping than teachers who are not experiencing ability grouping. Second, students who have low ability recognized more negative about ability grouping than students who have high ability. Third, teachers who are experiencing ability grouping recognized more ineffective about ability grouping than teachers who are not experiencing ability grouping. In scientific argumentation, students can use rebuttals to escape uncertainty, which, in this case, can be defined as a vague and fuzzy feeling about other students' explanations. As rebuttals can play a critical role in the sophistication of arguments and the alleviation of uncertainty, this study aims to understand the dynamics of uncertainty and rebuttals by exploring the context of the uncertainty experienced by elementary school students in the argumentation of "Why did the kidney beans not germinate?" and to get insights based on the research results. Twenty fourth-grade students and their homeroom teacher in Kyong-Ki province, South Korea, took part in the research. Students engaged in argumentation in five small groups of four students. The researcher collected qualitative data through video transcriptions, student interviews, and field notes. In the data analysis, the researcher employed the constant comparative method to explore in what context students experienced uncertainty and how they used rebuttals. The results of this study were as follows: First, students tried to reduce their uncertainty through argumentation on why the kidney beans did not germinate. Second, students used elaboration-oriented rebuttals, personal opinion-oriented rebuttals, and blame-oriented rebuttals to reduce this uncertainty. However, when they used blame-oriented rebuttals, their uncertainty and negative emotions increased. Third, intervention by the teacher led students to stop using blame-oriented rebuttals. Instead, they employed elaboration-oriented rebuttals to explore why the kidney beans would not sprout, and finally, they escaped uncertainty by discovering an appropriate explanation. Based on the findings of this study, the researcher discussed how the interaction between uncertainty and elaboration-oriented rebuttals could shape and facilitate argument development in elementary school students.
The importance of classes aiming at enhancing students ability in problem solving and decision making has been being recognized as chances of individual citizen for taking part in social decision making processes. This study was intended to find whether teachers' opinion presentation have effects on students' decision making in a class introducing environmental issues. Total of 6 classes, 202 middle school students have participated in a series of experiments including 4 different environmental issues. Only two issues had been addresses in classes as experimental issues and other two issues not addressed as control issues. For each of the two experimental issues, the teacher researcher applied three different approaches to his students that included positive, negative, or no opinion. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, the results showed that students changed their decisions on environmental issues more frequently when dealing with those issues in a class than when not dealing with them. Second, as examining the relationship between patterns in which students make decisions and whether a teacher proposed his opinions or not, it is shown that the rates of students whose opinions is not changed nearly have no difference, while when teachers propose their opinions, it is shown that students who haven't yet chosen their positions easily make their decisions into pros or cons, compared with the opposite case. Third, the results of this study partly supported the third hypothesis that teachers opinion presentation would effect on decision-making of students. It was found that there has been a significant effect in the case of car free day system issue, but no statistically meaningful result in the case of no pets in the national park issue. However, in the issue of car free day system, it seems pretty clear that the students followed the direction of teachers' opinion no matter what it was pros or cons.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of teacher support program for integration of handicapped children on teaching efficacy of daycare center teachers. Methods: In the study, 12 day care teachers in 4 day care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were selected as experimental groups and 12 teachers in 5 day care centers were selected as control group. Teacher education is carried out through group education, such as understanding of developmental area, curriculum modification, activity-based embedded intervention, cooperative learning, direct teaching, disability understanding education, behavior support, family support. Individual teacher education provided counseling on the reality of child care for children with disabilities that reflects the needs of teachers for integrated child care for handicapped children. Teacher's Efficacy in Inclusive Practices (TEIP) was used as a pre post test to measure teacher's efficacy change. In order to analyze the results of the study, two independent sample t tests were conducted on the difference between pre-post test of teacher efficacy between the two groups. Results: As a result, There was a significant difference in the pre-post change of teacher efficacy between the two groups. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study are as follows, teacher support program provided immediate feedback in integrated child daycare center for the handicapped children, child care teachers improved their integrated handicapped children care expertise, provided responsive teacher support program to the actual needs of the site, teacher support program reflected various variables related to integration, and emphasized the cooperative relationship between researcher and child daycare center teacher. The results of this study can be used as actual data of field where lack of support for the integration of handicapped children is lacking.

In this study, to disseminate the Practical On-site Cooperation Model (POCoM) for practical improvement of science teaching and learning through cooperation between researcher and teacher, an in-service program has been developed, applied and evaluated. The in-service program emphasizes the following three aspects; (1) video-recording of actual science teaching has been used as a primary resource, (2) communication between teacher and researcher and among teachers have been emphasized, (3) activities have been mainly included. The in-service program has been implemented for nine hours, and 17 science teachers have been recruited as volunteers. The result shows that, by checking the agreements between raters, we found that teachers' expertise in analyzing the science class using the Korean Teaching Observation Protocol (KTOP) has improved, and we have confirmed that teachers are able to judge whether the science class has improved or not. Through the questionnaire, various highly positive responses could be obtained from teachers. And through the observation of teachers' activities during the in-service program, teachers' questions, their difficulties in doing activities, and their comments for improving the program has also been analyzed. Finally, based on the results, a list of recommendations for a more effective in-service program have been suggested. It is expected that this list can be utilized for more effective and meaningful design and implementation of in-service course.
The researcher worked with 1001 middle and high school students so as to inquire into the family-related variables affecting the adolescents' school maladjustment from the results of the average, standard deviation and multiple regression analysis. The followings were the major findings. 1. The study activity was the first thing that the subjects did not adjust among their school life and the relationship with teacher, with opposite-sex friends, the rule-keeping and the friendship were the next in the order. 2. The researches on family-related variables affecting the school maladjustment were performed by gender (male / female), gender/school(male and middle / male and high / female and middle / female and high), school(middle / high) and system(academic / vocational). The most influential variables were the structural environment one in case of male students and male and middle school students; the parent-relationship one in case of female students, female and middle school students, female and high school students, middle school and vocational high school students; and the physical environment one in case of high school students, male and high school students and academic high school students.
The researcher worked with 1001 middle and high school students so as to inquire into family-related variables affecting adolescents' school life maladjustment, relying on average, standard deviation and hierarchical regression. The following are the major findings. 1) The research shows that to look into school life maladjustment on the basis of analysis models including family environment variables and family relationship variables in addition to family background variables offers more explanatory power. 2) Of all the variables, parent relationship variables turned out to have the greatest influences on maladjustment to teacher relationship and teaming activity areas among the subordinate areas of school life maladjustment. 3) Of all the variables, family's physical variables have the greatest influence on maladjustment to regulation-keeping relationship and opposite sex relationship among the subordinate areas of school life maladjustment. 4) Of all the variables, sibling relationship variables have the greatest influence on maladjustment to friendship among the subordinate areas of school life maladjustment. 5) Parent relationship variables have the greatest influence on total school life maladjustment followed by family physical environment, structural environment, the number of family members, cultural environment and residential variables in the right order.
This article examines the Korean classroom teachers' perceptions about the 7th national mathematics curriculum for elementary school. Elementary classroom teachers were surveyed using the researcher-made questionnaire (Teacher Perception about Mathematics Curriculum) and 143 teachers completed the questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed by a descriptive analysis. The results revealed that about 67% teachers considered the curriculum was well developed in scope and sequence. However, 43% teachers reported that the teacher's manual should provide clearer explanation instructional strategies to teach the math topics to children. 38(26%) teachers claimed the curriculum contains too much content to teach. 34(24%) of the teachers indicated some contents were developmentally too difficult for their students to understand. The most serious difficulties for the teachers in teaching mathematics was to accommodate individual student's different mathematics abilities, especially accelerated by private lessons at the after school programs.
The purpose of this study was to explore the possibilities of using the Metaverse in mathematics education. The use of the Metaverse started for commercial purposes, and now its use is expanding to all areas, including education. For this study, the researcher analyzed preceding studies related to the Metaverse and the domestic Metaverse platforms for mathematics education in Korea. As a result of the study, the use of Metaverse for mathematics education is still in its beginning stage, and most of the content is limited to mathematical games. However, there are a lot of opportunities and possibilities for mathematics education with Metaverse, and we need to develop the Metaverse platforms specialized for mathematics education with high-quality mathematics content. The researcher suggested to build infrastructure and operate a national level educational Metaverse platform, develop math-specific Metaverse platforms and mathematical content based on field-tested research on the use of the Metaverse platforms. The researcher also emphasized the necessity of teacher education programs for teachers to strengthen the utilization capacity of the Metaverse for mathematics education.

Present, we cannot expect the maximum studying effect in a home economics and the drill unit of secondary schools because of several problems. Such problems can be enumerated as follows. 1. The explaination of a making process in texts would be difficult for the students who have a poor understanding to grasp. 2. The much effort would be made due to teacher’s repeated exhibition, by which the progress of a text might be unreasonable. 3. The teachers unaccustomed to the drill might treat it carelessly and become to avoid it. 4. The skill to grasp a general work flow might be lack. Baseing on such problems, this researcher did using a medium of Video in teaching method of home economics. For this purpose, the quality of Video Tape would be important. Above all, we made out the script of Video Tape through advices of specialists in Video medium, majors in home economics, and the students teaching of home economics and the concerned persons, by which we recorded a gather skirt, as a finished goods, especially of the characteristics of each kind of a skirt. Next, we recorded and produced the total steps from a preparation of skirt-making to a finishing as using a V.T.R. shot technique. The Video would be screened and the supplemented explaination of a teacher would be added in a step of instruction. In the development of instruction, students would begin the making. The expected effects according to using Video Tape are as follows. 1. The making order of text would be exhibited by a model directly and the explaination of a narrator would be added concurrently, by which students would understand it easily as confirming each step. 2. All students can watch these steps owing to a close up, one of the V.T.R Techniques. Accordingly, the teacher’s efforts would be decreased and the proper progress of a text could be maintained because of no repeated exhibition of a teacher. 3. To the teachers unaccustomed to and interested in a drill, the medium would become a subsidiary means. 4. Study all steps of a making, students would become to understand the general flow of a work. Therefore, it might be possible to generalize another units of a making. However though this study was designed don a basis of such effects, the using effects based on only the existing study results, and was focused on the production of a medium. Because this research would be a teacher and there was noncooperation of secondary schools, it was impossible to experiment in schools, which was the prime limitation of this study. Therefore we should be experiment further for the continuous studying.
